I am 67 and new to EMT biking. I'm finding it a bit tricky with the weight as compared to my old Stumpjumper. This video was helpful with some hacks as how to navigate with the weight and using the walk mode to change the gearing by lifting the back wheel. Thanks
This is such great info for me as I get back out riding outside again. I own an indoor cycling studio and fear falling and i being myself (have shoulder injuries from skiing and biking years ago). Hopeful that riding as an educated cyclist will give me the best advantage as I venture back outside!
Great tips. I've actually been using most of these for some time. I transport my #turbolevo on my truck tailgate using a crash pad, technique is important to avoid injury or damages. I often wonder what techniques other folks are using, so this vid is kind of confirming to me. Thanks!
to pick up a haibike I found it effective to grab the top suspension linkage and the fork bracket. this way I spread the load evenly and don't have to stoop too low. For high gates, same place.
I don't agree with selecting the highest power setting to pull away @5.20 point. More power/torque means more chance of a loss in traction. Select a low gear, low power setting, then once moving change if required to a higher power setting
Great comment. I think both may be correct, given specific circumstances. While recovering from knee surgery, my leg strength was too weak to start pedaling again after almost any stop (let alone on an incline). For me, terrain dictates gear/power selection to avoid spinning out and losing traction, but I like dropping the saddle for more weight on the rear tire. Once moving, making the modifications and adjustments to keep going efficiently.
I know this video has almost 4 years but it keeps helping people! (me :D ) I just bought my first ebike and the tips of how to lift it will come handy. And the idea of using the walk mode to change gears is ultra clever. I'm thinking that maybe I could use the trick to put some lube in the chain too (as the classic backward pedaling isn't there) Thank you EMBN! 👏
A technique I use when going through rough Terrain that is not rideable and difficult for walking next to the bike is to invert the bike onto the rear wheel while holding the handlebars from behind and walking it like a unicycle. I wonder how this will work in walk mode with a heavy ebike? I'll find out soon enough as I wait for my delivery of my 2019 Turbo levo expert model :-)
I've seen your videos how to get the bike on to your shoulders but some gates I need to cross are quite (basically the height of a deer fence) high and would need both hands to climb over the gate, suggesting using some sort of harness. Anybody out there had to deal with this and offer advice? Cheers, Alan
Nice informative video. Does the walk button have to be constantly pressed? as I find it quiet tricky pressing the little button underneath the Yamaha controller and walking uphill at the same time! Never thought about trying the bottom bracket lift, will have a go this afternoon. Will probably fall over backwards but its fun learning new skills :)
Please, can you stop using "that" that instead of "that" the! It's getting most annoying! You are a professional presenter now so please get your diction sorted. That video was good though. Arrgghhh!
Which of these has helped in your riding? Let us know in the comments below 👇
Los cambios de piñón usando la tecla de asistencia al caminar es una idea muy original.
Super useful tips, especially changing gears in walk mode looks really helpful an makes it way easier.
Cheers!
Also saves riding back down to change gears.

Good tip on using the walk mode to change down gears
Very useful tips chaps
Thankyou - great advice for a complete rookie!
I totally forgot I have a walk button on my Haibike, will definitely use it for that gear down tip, thank you so much 😇
Wow wish I knew this lift at the bottom bracket technique, the other day I lugged my e bike up a lot of stairs holding the top tube, difficult lol

Top tips Chris. The EMBN channel never fails to deliver. 👍
Thanks for the Tips Chris! They are very useful!

im glad everyone is finally switching over to e mountain country. Yay
Great video Chris!
Brilliant video. Just wish I'd watched it last week ;-)
Great advice

Supercool, thanks for the tips😎

Lifting was very helpful
Top tips!!
Video muy útil, buenos consejos. Un saludo desde España.
Love your videos

Nice video Chris!
like it!.... don't like the idea of hoofing be cube on to my shoulders though lol
Alexis Righetti is the king of climbing with a bike; his TH-cam channel (free riding down mountains) is sick.

Awesome bike for the price
I used to shift tons of freight at work. Comes in handy with lifting ebikes. Whoda thought.
My concern with my EMTB is burning down the forest; lithium ion batteries burn at 3236 degrees F - higher than the melting point of asbestos.
And yet, not one forest has burned down due to e bike.
This is why the bikes with hub gears systems are much better, instant gear switch!
But more drag, and you usually can't shift under power. Different benefits and drawbacks.
@@embn well the rohloffs are expensive but since last year they do shift under load ;)
Nah they suck and are inefficient and it’s not that hard to lift the rear wheel to shift like he did.
👍
I call my "Walk" mode, jog mode. Running up hill! 😫
