I got into Yale this year (didn’t choose to go) and you are 100% right. On admitted students day it felt like every other student was either a legacy or went to one of the big New England boarding schools.
Test optional is mad stupid its the only standardized thing and colleges decide to be blind to it. A bunch of these kids probably had grade inflation whilst having garbage SAT/ACT scores. For yale, the 1400's is just embarrassing.

Many students can just cheat and have a good gpa in school. Also make up there extracurricular in the common app. But congrats on these students getting in to this amazing school
