It makes me really happy to hear you wanting to pick up as much Arina Tanemura as you can find haha - She’s my favourite manga artist still to this day (despite the fact she hasn’t really made a ton in recent years & idol dreams, her one ongoing series comes out once in a blue moon lol) but her older series are very good. If you enjoy fantasy I’m sure you’ll like them :) Also! Monkey High is the first manga I read (a random book from the series lol) - my friend lent it to me in grade school & it began my investment & enjoyment of manga ahaha so it has a special place in my heart. I have yet to read the full series though so I’ll be curious to hear what you think! So much Shojobeat wowie! I honestly love the shojo stories they have; I’d like to own & read everything Shojobeat at some point (but we’ll get there, there are lots of series lol)
There is so much shojo out there I don’t think I could ever read it all but I want to try and read as much as I can. It’s so upsetting that so many series are hard to come by and they hardly ever get reprints so a lot of people will never get the chance to read them 😭 I’ve been really into fantasy series lately and particularly enjoy shojo fantasy. I personally enjoy Shoujo more than Shonen 90% of the time (there’s a few Shounens I really like though, like TBHK) & the ones out of print are a real struggle 😭😭 I’m lucky to have already owned some that are harder to find now - but there are still a number that will be quite the challenge for me to complete lol Fantasy shoujo is also fantastic - personally I really enjoy shoujo stories where the focus is not the romance for the main character but some other sort of goal - and then the romance is sprinkled throughout. Pure romance stories are cute, but don’t really hit the same levels haha
