Well that's sounds pretty interesting, hopefully you will make a series out of it by comparing our locos with locos around the world.... Similar like this video comparing our gt46mac/gt46ace with its american counter part sd70mac/sd70ace( our 4000hp wdg4 is derived from sd70mac and 4500hp wdg4,wdg4d from sd70ace)... And many more interesting ideas similarly
India Exported WDG-4D to Sri Lanka, but the locomotive was De-Rated to 3250 HP with the same EMD v12-710 engine of Class-66. The Body is of WDG4D, but the Engine used inside is of Class66..
Wdg4 is broad guage, class 66 is standard guage. So, 3041 hp is enough I think 🤔 and shockingly 3.2 tonnes heavier than wdg4 , 105kmph top speed of 66 compared to 85kmph of wdg4 .It's the potential winner here.
Just got to know that Class-66 is having DC Traction. I verified this fact from Progress Rail official website. So now, WDG-4 & M11 with AC traction is having an edge over class-66. 😃
Nice. Waiting for your video on GE locomotives in India and comparison of GM/EMD and GE locomotives in India, and which one is the chisen one for future.
This I knew very well before this video. I have seen many videos of class 66 as well. I am happy as well that I learnt 1 new thing here - LP's being troubled by Noise Pollution caused by the prime mover in Class 66 Locos. Only thing that makes DG4 superior 2 Class-66 is more Horsepower and Traction. One correction but - Class 66 is EMD 12N-710G3B-T2 of 3300 HP and NOT 3041 HP. Also, WDG-4 GT46MAC produced only 4000 HP initially with the imported 16-710G3B-ES prime mover. Also the locomotive used Gate Turn-Off Thyristor (GTO-Thyristor). The engine was tweaked to produce 4500 HP at 910 RPM in 2007-08 Timeframe, with the New Engine christened as EMD 16N-710G3B-EC. Also, the GTO-Thyristor was replaced with Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) technology (This upgraded one is the EMD GT46ACe). Further in 2010-11 Timeframe, WDG-4's got Wide, Chubby looking Pilot Cabs instead of the original Sharp-Edged Narrow Cab, due to LHF Visibility Issues. These locomotives are called Popularly "Piglets" by Railfans, as the looks of the Chubby Cab more or less resemble the Face of a Piggy
Wrong example 😊. The S class (Mercedes) and 4 series (BMW) are made by different companies. The two contenders shown here are both progeny of the EMD, albeit built for different operators. For instance two 4-series cars can be bought by two different people
@@ali99958 S, C, E class it makes no difference. A criticism made for the sake of criticising with no constructive input makes no difference to my happiness. I am happy regardless. Incidentally, the S- and C-class can actually be compared. They have different engine sizes, body sizes and are in different price brackets. The Class 66 and WDG4 compared in the video are made by the same manufacturer, have the same prime mover and similar traction capabilities. They have been built for different operators. They make perfect candidates for a comparison. It seems you are criticising for the sake of criticising with no constructive suggestion. For your info, I own a BMW and I can say with confidence, no Mercedes can ever compare to a Beemer!
@@TheTrainStory well you are comparing different displacement KMN, horsepower and now you are not willing to face postive criticism, which should be answered by knowledge. lol
@@TheTrainStory one is 16 cylinder other is 12 cylinder, one is 4500 hp and other is 3041, tractive effort is different, weight is different totally baseless comparision.
Very nice video, please make videos regularly

Indeed :)
Also what about the cost bro?
@@shirishsalunkhe9374 i have not checked on the costs. Sorry friend
@@TheTrainStory ok
Please make a similar one for WAP 5 like u did for P4 and P7
In the UK, we have almost 1,000 class 66s! We have exported some 66s to Egypt also. I would prefer the class 66 because it is home to my nationality.
That was a nice comparison sir! And also Class 66 is my favorite British Diesel😃👍
Thanks friend 😊
Great video sir :)
Your videos are every informative and amazing..
Thanks Hemal
OMG I'M EXCITED SINCE THE CLASS 66 IS MY FAVOURITE BRITISH DIESEL!
😊…
@@TheTrainStory I had seen your ALCo video when it came out...I was really excited for that too.
@@TheTrainStory Btw I seem to be the only one who has set the reminder for this ("1 waiting").

Great video, would’ve been great to mention the predecessors aswell such as the Class 59 for the 66 and the Indian equivalent to the WDG-4.
Thanks … 😊
Amazing video but i think the class 59 would be better than the class 66 as its practically a more powerful version
Make a video on Bandhan Express
Please make a comparison between WDP-4D vs WAP-7 & wag-9(9000hp) vs wdg-6G
Thank you it was very good info.

@Ashish Saxena oh. Wow.. Another new thing.. Thx 4 telling my bruh..
Super thank you for sharing information
😊
Hey brother, why do you not compared the Indian Railway EMD GT46MAC/GT46ACe(WDG4) with PT KAI EMD GT38ACe (CC205 Class Locomotive)?
Great video and information
Thanks Advait
Sri Lankan WDG-4D (M-11) & Class-66 are having the almost same specs !
Could that be an Indian made Class-66 in disguise? 😅
😀… these are built in England / Canada. The M-11 is of course Built in India
Can you do a size comparison of Indian locomotives?
Wdg4 looks better than class 66
80% Electrification
Not 100%
base less
