I went for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I found 4 blue agate nodule and half of a beautiful geode. So, beginners luck! We only had about 2 hours before we had to go. There was snow on the trail in some spots. Next time, we’ll be spending a couple of days as it was 4 1/2 hour drive for us. So glad you found some awesome specimens! 😺
Looks like your hard work produced some decent finds if the windows into the rock are any evidence I just cut a geode that was very heavy because instead of crystals it was solid banded agate with a small druzy pocket in the middle Maybe use your phone to make a checklist before leaving your vehicle but I've seen others more experienced then you forget their spray bottle!
Hell ya snooping in old holes is a great way to score some easy material, the empty hole just sits filling it's self slowly and many times your gonna find agate

Here's a little hint you do not feel exhausted when you focus on everything around you keep your eye on the prize you won't be tired you won't be sore you won't care about that spray bottle. These people don't care any more . I figured I ever find abody half buried I'm going to just fill in the whole the rest of the way . One more missing person in a state park or national forest isn't that big a deal

A fun adventure, in a gorgeous place! Can always use a hammer and chisel to crack your finds open and see if you’re in a good spot.
