Watching this vod 5 years later. It's amazing how much our potato has improved as a player and caster... shows how much potato has improved in the game because it took him 1 hour before saying the word monument!
Bro, I don't get why you didn't buy down to that iron mine close to Aztec. I know you don't like to buy tiles, but you potentially steal iron from your threatening neighbor, you get two tech boosts (for building a mine and building an iron mine), and you don't have to settle way up above the desert for a while.
Literally impossible to start a game with france and not be rushed by several civs on deity, you had so much land and time at your disposal than normal that not even my 20 restarts can accomplish as good a start, its so frustrating!
Weird that of all the possible leaders, France gets Catherine and only Catherine. Such a bizzare and unexciting choice. Even Greece got two leaders + Alexander.
i watch all these videos and it seems like all you streamers just get insanely good start cities where you are able to pump out settlers pre early empire at a steady pace...takes me like 20 restarts to get even close to some of these starts on standard settings :(
Why did you build paris on a resource? Plus why are you planning for wonders two eras away, pyramids come before petra, adding a extra build command to builders
James Combes If you settle on a resource immediately unlock it and can trade it to the AI for 100-200 gold to the ai. I used this to buy settlers and get my empire going very fast. As for planning ahead on wonders, Christo Redentor and Eiffel Tower are pretty much required for a culture win, and civilization is a game that rewards thinking ahead. As well, playing France we get extra tourism from wonders
PotatoMcWhiskey thank you for your response, I do appreciate it and I get where you're coming from. As for those two wonders you mention to win the cultural win. I usually win the cultural when in the Industrial era. Before I get a chance to build those. And I one cultural as both America and England, England was hard to win as cultural but I did it especially when you play against Korea and France.
Going from prince to deity is like going from riding a bike on training wheels with your dad holding you upright on the bike vs. competing in the Tour de France the next day lol
PotatoMcWhiskey oh ok thanks I didn't know that since I am new to this game . 1 more question what's the best civ for culture victory ? I heard people say in stream that france is bad
This is livestream, you have to secure a good run to be entertaining... He explain very well all his decisions, it's more about informations about the game for viewers, not for the competitive aspect. Don't be rude, he's doing a great job as a streamer.
Next time, if you want to be helpful, just tell the guy asking how to win a domination victory what you think the best civs are for dominating early game and domination victories in general. You're overthinking it and being abrasive and treating viewers like idiots for asking admittedly dumb/uninformed questions without actually helping them in any way. I've watched a lot of your videos btw, you do this fairly often.
I absolutely hate it when you guys change city and religion names to a made up alternative. It's enough to make me quit watching a video. Use historically appropriate ones for that civ.

If Potato is playing France, it is a french fries?
*belgium fries
When your culture is three times your science and your industry is down the drain, you know you'd better go for a culture victory.
Your channel is gonna blow up. Your content is awesome! Please keep making videos.
i enjoy watching your ingsights into civ . thanks and hail
They were really forgiving w the portrait of Catherine, I heard she wasn't at all a pretty lady! Lol

LazyNate31 ur right even me whose beaten deity and i go for military wins struggle or just lose outright by a deity early rush

Yeah , they were so many other options...
Louis XIV
Clovis
Charlemagne
Louis IX
Charles de Gaulle
Henri IV
François 1
Etc
Were can we download that savegame you made?
The first shape makes me feel like a head of a tiger😁
Nice game, You did save at the beginning. If you wanted to, you could retry and settle a little better :)
On which platfrom do u stream?
Hey mate, where can I find a link to all the UI mods that you use in your games?
I keep thinking that chops don't multiply from rainforests. Might it be the case that Magnus multiplies them, but Limes doesn't?
I like how you were culture/ pacifist instead of warring to get wonders, etc.
What game speed is this? Quick or Online? Seems too fast for standads

Right! Even when I do abundant and legendary start its still not that good tbh
I restart too much too many 😔
is there a link to the save game at turn 26??
So delighted to see a romanian comment in the stream chat
do you have a twitch channel?
Why not "Frenchship, love and butterflies".?

Are you winning these games on Deity?
@@PotatoMcWhiskey shots fired
@@PotatoMcWhiskey the silence tells all.
potato can u post the map code?
i kinda feel stupid when i loose to difficulty 5 and then see you
why do you build 3 spaces between cities? surely 6 spaces gives both cities full growth space whilst still allowing the to join when full....
Rikki Wood Cities don't need that much room, and good land space is limited.
PotatoMcWhiskey to be honest I've never played above Prince difficulty but planning a deity culture game soon. love your videos dude
Like, never? You're in for a rough ride mate. Best of luck.

Why chop only woods, why not rainforest too ? What am I getting wrong ?
I do chop rainforests too, but woods are worth twice as much production as rainforests so it sometimes makes sense to chop them out first.
PotatoMcWhiskey oh ok thanks I didn't know that since I am new to this game .
1 more question what's the best civ for culture victory ? I heard people say in stream that france is bad
*SPOILER*
He wins at turn 266
Why don't you rush improvements earlier?
Cameron Gill the video came out 2 years ago
Why wouldn't you build farms? The adjacency bonuses gained from Feudalism and some modern tech give you so much food = city growth
disgusting start xd
no new AI in this one from rise and fall?
Starting again is a bit lame.

no one cares you fucking snowflake. its a game.
Fuck that. If you historically accurate watch a documentary instead of a game.
