God it is wonderful Being a Beatles fan. I first got the bug At 14. Was lucky enough to See them 4 times in Concert. Best part of growing up. So glad I was born At the right time.
@@julkitan3017 I remember hearing years ago that a deal was worked out giving both George and Ringo each 5% of the royalties on all "Lennon/McCartney" song sales. We see in the Peter Jackson movie what a collaborative process it was in the studio.
Nice to remember the good old times, now in the winter of life I know that the spring will never return. I am crying tears are silent images of pain and I feel myself nostalgic for those times of utopias and shining suns
I went to see him at Fenway Park in Boston June 7, 2022. The show was simply AMAZING from start to finish. I've been to a lot of concerts and seen quite a few bands but when this concert was over i had witness seeing A LEGEND. At 80 paul can still rock and roll.
Never was a big McCartney fan but my in-laws came to Liverpool in 2003 when he was playing kings dock. I reluctantly got tickets as they're fans. Wow. He puts on a show and a half. I had a brilliant night. Turned me into a fan.
My cousin has a copy of The Silver Beatles first 45. One side has My Bonny Lies Over The Ocean, and on the other side has When The Saints Come Marching In.
This a beautiful song & I first heard it on the Anthology album. I understand that Paul wrote this at the age of 14. I often wondered why they/George Martin did not do a proper studio recording of this for a single release. Would have been a great B side to "Love me Do".
It's a pleasant enough little ditty, but if Paul & John had been satisfied with early, rudimentary efforts like this one they would not have been driven to write an estimated 100 or so more songs between this one and the time they actually got a recording contract. And if they had been satisfied by the quality of this huge backlog of early material when they were tasked with regularly producing singles & album tracks they never would have instead taken their craft to the next level and come up with "Please Please me", "I Want To Hold Your Hand", "Can't Buy Me Love" and eventually "Eleanor Rigby" and "Strawberry Fields Forever"
Just saw Paul 4 days ago in Orlando at Camping World Stadium, incredible time. Every second watching him is a classic rock history lesson. I was also lucky to see him in 92 in Cinncinati. Thank you Paul. Thank you Beatles
I was allowed to stay up late to watch the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show. I'm 62 now and still remember it like it was yesterday (which hadn't been written yet).
My late wife saw the Beatles in Baltimore in 1965. She took pictures and you can just make out “Beatles” on Ringo’s bass drum. She said the screaming drowned out the music. That was 57 years ago when she was 14 and Paul was 23.
The Quarrymen first recorded this July 12th, 1958 (3 days before Julia died). Paul got the amount wrong; it wasn't 5GBP, it was 17/6. I.e. a little less than 1GBP, but worth much more than 5GBP in today's equivalent. Colin Hanton was on drums; John's friend. "Duff" was John Lowe on piano.
Ironic that both Elvis and The Beatles recorded their first record at a studio that was owned by a man called Phillips, one in the USA and one in Liverpool!
Are you another conspiracy theorist? If Paul did die back in the 60s and was replaced, then it’s the best thing that ever happened to the Beatles and rock n roll!
*This 'Call & Refrain' tune sounds okay...a lot of 'Elvis' vibe going on like 'Don't Be Cruel'-type lyrics and 'Kathy's Clown' from Don & Phil* *Really good for a first effort at 'Pop' songwriting*
Actually it was not the " first recording by The Beatles" - it was the first recording by by The Quarrymen. Recorded in May 1958 and I have only heard it now ( when it's 64 ).
the Quarry men were pretty well done by then. It is about the time John’s mother was hit and killed he stayed away from the music after that for a period of time. When they did appear after John’s mothers death it was always some other name such as the silver beetles with the nurse twins it was appear there were George was with John and Paul.
when I view new McCartney stuff, my 9 year old self from 1964 makes herself known to me. I seem to lose my total focus in 2022 and glide back through the tunnel of time. My 9 yr old self gets very excited that Paul is still doing it and she thinks he looks good. I've decided to let her be happy and not bring her up to date on the rest of the Fabs.
I think I heard "Duff" at a convention. He wanted to play that record. The Apple/EMI lawyers were leaning on him, heavily. He threatened to "take a hammer to it!" That's when they negotiated.
I have a few other videos from this concert. This one here is 16 minutes long Mother Mary, Live and Let Die and Hey Jude. th-cam.com/video/0jJRiMoQnhY/w-d-xo.html
Yea he sure is , but I wish he was my grandpa too, cause you know about 50 years ago he was a rock God, and his legacy will endure, cause he and the Beatles were amazing.
Paul had offered 5,000 GBP which was turned down and they negotiated a deal for an undisclosed price. So I don’t think the actual sale price has been made public.
Gives me chills that this is the actual guy who was there for all that Beatlemania, the movies, the amazing music.
Yes and Paul McCartney a awesome singer and song writer he sung Elenore Rigby song and nowhere man in1966,year I was born ☺️❣️
He’s a world wide treasure. Probably the most well known man in the world. And deservedly.
@@lisaparsons4124
He sang harmonies on Nowhere Man. It was John’s song though.
He is a Living Legend ❤
Not everyone agrees that it is the same guy.
This guy had music and songwriting in his DNA. Most artists these days can’t even come close to this melody
God it is wonderful

Best part of growing up. So glad I was born
At the right time.
Dam Dude !!! YOU’RE OLD
Thank you, Paul, John, George and Ringo for cheering up my life for 62 years!
Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱.
paul wrote this, inspired on an elvis song called "trying to get you" and george composed the solo. Thats why its a McCartney/Harrison song
With that logic, Harrison deserves credit on some 50 tracks
Yeah that's true... George deserved to be credited on many more songs, definitely.
@@julkitan3017 I remember hearing years ago that a deal was worked out giving both George and Ringo each 5% of the royalties on all "Lennon/McCartney" song sales. We see in the Peter Jackson movie what a collaborative process it was in the studio.
A great song, first time I've ever heard this one
@@CartersRemasters yeah, but they didn't really know how that crediting thing works, Paul later stated
In Spite of All The Danger is one of my favourite songs, glad he played it again

Great story about this demo record came to be made , shame he didn't play both sides.
Paul McCartney is awesome singer and song writer and the Beatles a awesome group.❣️
Lisa Parsons
Right place at the right time,
right gimmick and a very
brilliant manager, but highly
overrated.
They lit up the planet. The charisma and spirit still comes through. God did this for Elvis also. With the assassinations and Vietnam needed it badly.
This man is so charming and a good storyteller!!! Love the song too!!!❤
Yes Paul McCartney is charming tells the story good and love the Beatles
Its easy to tell good stories when you have good stories to tell.
"In Spite of All the Danger". You can already hear the greatness.

What a Rock n Roll legend almost 80!
I was 12 on 2/9/64 I have loved the Beatles since the day I heard “I Want To Hold Your Hand” in December 63. What a great ride it’s been.

God Bless You Paul, for so many memories and Beautiful Music!
last saw Paul in concert, December 2017, Auckland, N.Z. really sad to watch him sing a John or George song, but thankful, he is still with us

I've always loved this song :)
Saw him at Sun Devil Stadium, Tempe years ago. He played so many Beatles tunes that was what surprised me.
That would be great to see Paul McCartney put this song on a forthcoming album.
Telling the story about their beginning makes it that much interesting.

Amo a Paul McCartney.
Amo a The Beatles.

He was of course talking about the quarrymen before the beatles.. And this was sung by John back then
I always told paul he had the best voice after sinatra so he knows how i feel, pauls earned the right to go on as long as he wants.
I love this song inspite of all the dangers
I loved this one Anthology and love it here even more. Thanks Macca!

Its a bit Everly Brothers sounding, which makes sense given the era.
That record today would be almost priceless. Belongs in the Smithsonian
The British Museum would be more appropriate.

That's a country song!
A pound was quite a substantial amount of money for 5 young lads in those days!
Many people claim it was that’ll be the Day by Buddy Holly
WHO IS THIS GUY?!
Huh? Where did for?
It's not a bad little song.
I wonder how much he paid for the record.
5£ total, 1£ each.

Whatever it was he could afford it
Not bad for the time period.
Dang this feels odd without John.
Wonder if Paul got his pound knocked off when bought it back.
John Lennon George Harrison

Thank heavens they met Epstein
