Thank you for writing. You have raised a very valid point. Compression is demonstrable mainly if the right kind of MRI is done. Now I don't know in your particular case but getting the right sequences in the MRI at a place which is used to doing such sequences is of the utmost importance. success depends on the experience of the surgeon and the centre having high volume of MVds. Trigeminal Neuralgia being a rare condition, MVD is not commonly performed on a daily/ weekly basis in most places. I would suggest you go to someone who is well-experienced as that increases chance of success and reduces risks/ failures. Lasers are not used, but we use a combination of microscope and endoscope. MVD is generally a less- blood surgery, not blood-less. second surgery is possible after careful considerations of many factors.

Sir, I am from Bangaldesh. I have been suffering from facial pain for last 1.5 years. The pain is burning, radiates to my TMJ also. There is aggravating factors. Sometimes there is constant background pain & intensity increases & lasts for 2-3 hours. Again sometimes it is gone totally & again come back. I have done MRI also. Sir I have heard the side effects of after surgery such as double sightings, numbness etc is it so?
These effects are less than 1%, numbness if present is temporary and reduces in a few months.
