Why have I not seen Rick Hoffman in more productions? He is an actor who can capture the most visceral emotions whilst equally making the viewers cackle with laughter.
I know aside from Suits, I’ve only seen him do an episode of Leverage and a bit role on Numb3rs. We need more Hoffman, specifically we need more characters like Louis Litt

When it is happening, a black screen forms before your eyes. You can see and yet you can't at the same time. Your responses are not processed, they're just involuntary.
And after that, when it is over, you can't fathom properly what happened in that moment, it's just a huge blindspot.

Best part of the show I think. When you see that rare deep connection of being friends and coworkers for a long time, you can’t help but to melt. Harvey and Louis know there isn’t anyone else they’d want watching their backs besides each other.
Only who was assaulted before knows what Louis is feeling. You do not want to return to the same spot where the assault happened, you have eyes on your back, and during an armoured assault you feel hopeless no matter how big you are. It take guts to get over it.
For real man. I got mugged a little over 2 years ago by a couple of men armed with machetes and it was such a humiliating experience.
Even a smash and grab wrecks your confidence
@@calebjacob4196 I was mugged 4 years ago at 15 years old by a guy with a silver pistol. Still remember about to get to the gate of my grandmother's house. Didn't really have any money so he took my phone. And I had my final exams ongoing at the time and couldn't focus for the next few days. But atleast the robber was brought to justice

Rick was giving the emotions for the scene very well. You can't have it better than this
This is honestly the sweetest moment between Harvey and Louis....
For all the pranks and the rudeness Harvey threw at Louis this just shows he never wanted to really harm Louis. And this was another amazing performance by Rick
Pranks n insults are Harvey's love languages, but when it comes down to it he sees Louis as a dear friend (as he does Mike Jessica n Rachel) n would do whatever he can to comfort defend and fight for them.

Rick is so underrated and not just by the industry, but by me also. I haven't seen a lot of him in movies or series, but this is by far one of the greatest roles he's played. He can be your best friend, a cuddly little bear, a cuddly bear covered in blood with knives for claws, the reaper incarnate, etc I can go on. This moment I'd say 99.9% of actors would fail miserably at and I've seen it. I honestly think Rick thought about the scene and really imagined what it'd be like.
I was so close to crying when Harvey said 'buddy'. Harvey's there for Louis when he needs it.

Never question why an actor(s) gets paid so handsomely.. the ability to get in character emotionally physically psychologically or for whatever reaction needed knowing well that after the scene u may have to come back to your normal self is nothing short of phenomenal

The reserve of Harvey's "What's going on Louis?" was crucial for the eventual disclosure to happen. If Gabriel's tone was the slightest bit more aggressive Louis' opening up would have been far les believable. Incredible acting by them both and a lot to learn in how to handle situations like this. The "It's ok buddy" was also phenomenal as well as Rick's acting in general. One of my favourite scenes from the whole show.
That’s not what he wants to hear. Thats what he needs to hear. So his friend can feel better and get it off his chest.

Knowing where Louis and Harvey started with each other makes this even more impactful.
Wow I knew Rick Hoffman is a great actor, and then there's this scene. So gutwrenching seeing a man trying to wall off something that is consuming him, having a visceral trauma response, and breaking down upon a trusted friend's consolation.
It's a bit weird to see Harvey offering his warmth and gentleness to Louis, but it really shows their friendship, that at the core Harvey respect Louis and cares about him.
everyone needs a friend once in a while.. but those who have them are lucky..
The bromance in their frienemy relationship is phenomenal.
If you told me Rick Hoffman had actually been mugged before, I'd believe you completely. He plays it so realistically. As always, an amazing casting choice.

Bit of advice for anyone, this isn't a solution for everyone but it works for me. If you're ever feeling down, sad, alone, find yourself laying in bed. I always watch shorts of Louis crying. I know it sounds weird but I cry my eyes out and then I feel better because I've had that emotional release in a safe, controlled environment.
Obviously this isn't an alternative for actual professional medical help but I would recommend it as well as seeing someone so you can have that moment of release of both negative and positive chemical reactions in the brain.
Louis and Harvey started out as vicious rivals and then when they become strong friends and we get emotional scenes like this 😭 honestly for a show about lawyers the character development was so on point!
I think this would be where Mike Ehrmentraut would come in and say, “Here’s what will happen. One day you’ll wake up, have breakfast, brush your teeth, kiss Shelia goodbye and tell her you’ll see her tonight, go to work, and then you’ll realize, you haven’t thought about it for a long time. And that’s how you know you can move on.”

This is some very solid acting.
I’ve been there, I worked at a gas station grave shift, guy came in with a gun and pointed it in my face wanting money. I could practically see down the barrel, then he pushed it against the back of my neck to get me to move faster towards the register. He was eventually caught and found guilty. I had to testify. Gave me nightmares for a while, very stressful to deal with, start to end. Felt the cold metal on my neck for some time afterwards. Developed a deep fear of guns which took a while to get over, but I did. However I found a new respect for them. To this day because of that event I don’t own one and never will. No one should have that kind of power in their hands in my opinion. I was lucky that night, he didn’t fire the gun, many people don’t always get that lucky, they get injured or disabled or worse they lose their lives. Definitely changed my views on a lot of issues.
Some homeless dude tried a strong arm robbery on me yesterday but I fought him off luckily he didn't have a knife he just grabbed me and was trying to steal my backpack and bike.I still have some ptsd from it and don't feel safe going to that area.

This is one of my favorite scenes because it shows that deep down these two really do care about each other. Despite their constant back and forths, when the chips are down and one of them is in pain, the other will not hesitate to do what's needed to help. True friendship.
