It’s an incredibly beautiful area. The more we see places in Japan the more we fell in love with Japan. We bought some Lacquerware home, and we also loved the glassware edo Kiriko :)
Thank you, We googled. and learned that it was practiced in Japan long time ago, when a sick or an elderly relative was carried to a mountain, or some other remote, desolate place, and left there to die. It was practiced in the North as well. If you read Jack London's short story called The Law of Life, it is about this tradition. But it is the name of that place as well.
