    The bookmark itself is a beginner design, imo. The lotus is a little more intermediate but gets easier with practice. The possibilities for customizing this design are pretty endless. Bookmarks are a GREAT gift option for men as well as women who don't wear jewelry. They're also really great for adding variety to your product line and don't take very long to make, so they're also good for lower price points on a table at a craft show or hanging in a shop!
    Supplies:
    18 gauge square, dead soft copper wire, one piece, 14 inches long
    18 gauge round, dead soft copper wire, one piece, 8 inches
    26 gauge dead soft round copper wire, two pieces, one 15 inches long, one 24 inches long
    3mm Swarovski bead

    Thank you for shouting out Lan Ahn. There are so many wire workers on TH-cam who clearly watch her but never acknowledge her.
    Mad respect for that, and for your skills and designs and teaching skills.
    Thank you 🙏

    Wow - I love this! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I recently bought some wire making supplies on a whim during a trip to Hobby Lobby. I went there for fabric and walked out with wire, beads, and pliers. $30 poorer and 3 weeks later, I've yet to make anything. Your tutorial is well done and easy to understand - it feels like a doable project. I'm inspired to try this. Thanks!

    This is beautiful. The lotus blossom would also make a lovely pendant. You make it look so easy.

    Thank you so much for sharing. I’m a beginner so I love the way you stop & show each segment with a close up. It’s very helpful. Look forward to more of your videos.

    I’m a newbie to wire work. Why dead soft wire? I’ve never tried it. Also a tutorial for the owl would be great. This was an awesome all around video. Thank you for sharing your experience and creativity with us. Sara

    The design is beautiful. The twisted square wire for the bookmark looks strong, but I would hesitate to put that into a book I cared about. I am concerned that it would damage the pages.

      That's part of why I hamner it. Thst smooths down the corners of the square wire. Although you can always just use round wire if you prefer. I have sold a bunch of these, and use them myself, and haven't had this issue. Unless it's some truly antique book with delicate pages, this shouldn't cause any damage.

    That was a fun piece. Now I have to find someone that reads hard copy books. I may just use the lotus as a pendant. Thank for sharing your time and talent with us. Be happy, safe and healthy! I am a subscriber to Lan Anh Handmade too. She is also very talented.

    I don’t have a square mandrel so I wish you had mentioned the length of the sides of the rhombus. I just found a smallish square item but it didn’t leave me much length to twist. It’s very difficult to find anything small AND square in my house. How long is your final twisted end piece?

    • @cleftoftherockcreations4289
      @cleftoftherockcreations4289  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It doesn't have to be a square or rhombus. It just need to be any shape you can use as a frame. The final piece is around 4 and 1/2 inches long.
