    For the past 5 or more years, I have had huge lawn faliures when applying my preemergent and fertilizer in the spring. My back yard has a slight slope to it and as my luck is, instead of getting a gentle rain, it pours. A typical Ks. frog chocker and there goes my fertilizer. Washing into my neighbors yard and beyond. Never fails. Finally got smart and used a liguid fert. this year and viola! I have a beautiful thick yard for a change. So I am sold on liquids because they get to the root of the matter quicker than granular. No pun intended.

    I used granulated weed and feed upfront and the liquid/spray weed and feed in the backyard both were Scotts I saw weeds yellowing at jus 24hr time frame in the liquid and the granulated within a week or so..both had the same weeds

    Doc, the reason I look for no "P" is because my soil test say's that my lawn is high in by it. Should I avoid it then? Thanks

    I'd love to start liquid fertilizers, but my concern has always been with breathing the stuff in.. is it bad or is that just with weed killers?

      I can see your concern, but you ever think about that micro dust particles coming off the granular? I can see the concerns from both

    Hi Doc, I dont have Bermuda but wondering if Liquid Lawn is beneficial for cool grass lawns other than Bermuda in states like Pa. Also wondering when is the best time to apply. Thanks!

    Another great one Doc👍🏼. I’m a new lawn fanatic, just laid my new Kentucky bluegrass(500 SF) last month and since I had to keep it moist fungus are appearing and now I’m on a mission for life to have a great looking lawn. New subscriber here since you give out great tips. By the way I’m in the Dessert of Reno, NV so any tips would be great and I think I like spray over granular. So far I have used Scott’s Disease Ex and Bio Advance Fungus Control. Thanks

    How can I tell when I'm out of the actual weed and feed product?? It NEVER stops spraying.

    If you have an irrigation system, would dosing the spray fertilizer work well that way? Even diluted down if need be.

    I wonder if the same logic applies to bug sprays vs granules?

      I've been debating this alot lately. What is those bottles metered at? They gotta have some sort of mix ratio. If I can find that out, I'd be happy with making the switch to liquid fertilizer

    Is there a chance birds will eat the granular fertilizer? If so, what's a prevention method aside from a shotgun?

      Good question actually. We watched for this on all applications. Birds, deer, etc. We saw no increase.

    How it work out?

  • @oldschool86chev
    @oldschool86chev 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    When you applied your granular fertilizer and pointed out how some areas are missed (the size of your hand.) I believe the issue is you are roughly applying at a 1lb rate... The average recommended application of fertilizer is about a 4 lb per 1,000 sq ft. If You add 3x the amount you put down you won't have any bare spots and a better mix of nutrients in one area. I'm not knocking on how you do your lawn, its just that you are giving the viewers skewed information.
