It just depends on where a family does shopping. There are some months we don’t do naivas as much .. but this is what a general naivas trip looks like.

Good Day MeKenze🥰. Thank you so much for sharing. It’s more cost effective to live in Kenya than in the US! But that is very obvious!!! Your grocery haul would have been over $300 dollars here especially with all the self stable items you purchased and the chicken breast! I believe if a good income can be generated in Kenya, living can be very enjoyable especially if you are in the village community areas. Enjoy your haul and your day. Blessings and Favor continue to be your portion! 💜🥰🌹🙏🏾🫶🏾🙋🏾♀️
Thanks so much! And yes, this amount of groceries would be well over $300 in USA . I love having a mixture of village life and convenience as well.. it’s the American in me 😅☺️
@@susann3399 That’s true. Publix seems to be the highest supermarket these days AND they are constantly building new stores!!! I only shop BOGO from Publix these days or if I cannot find a specific name brand at Walmart!
Enjoyed the grocery haul, love laughing cow cheese, when I was watching there was an add for visit I Utah they showed a canyon,I wonder if this was just a coincidence, I loved that the big brother is coming out in Lucas i saw how he stopped and let his sister go in,great job mom &Dad, as I am watching your video I have some beans soaking,I wanted to try githeri, I got recipe from a kenyan chef on you tube ,I have never met a legume I did not like, and who does not like Maiz/corn ,will be cooking in slower cooker, the bunnies were so cute hiding thanks for bringing us along with your lovely family
That’s cute you noticed Lukas do that cuz I noticed too and it made me happy that he’s becoming such a mature big brother toward his sis. Thanks for watching as always 🥰
Really glad to hear you also eat your own produce which is very healthy l would imagine. As you become more used to village life you will eat more and more of your own organic grown plants and animals. Really enjoyed the video.
200 dollars every 10 days is for the high end families in Kenya. Most families in Kenya of that size it is less than 200 dollars for a full month. To save money, most Kenyans would not shop much in supermarkets, they buy from local food stores fresh food from the farms
Your shopping I saw you go 2 soap but I didn't see detergent toilet tissue dish detergent paper towels of course you don't need to get this everytime but......❤
Come with George to my farm and enjoy plenty of fresh fruits, milk and groceries. The cop that you always meet along kianjai meru road. Truly blessed people
Thanks for the grocery haul. Your grocery prices are pretty good. We (2 people) generally spend $450 each month in the US. That price includes a lot of salmon, catfish, and shrimp.
I'm Kenyan in Kenya. By American standards, the shopping seems fair priced. By Kenyan standards, this is still pretty steep. I think it's the frozen foods that inflated the total. The only thing frozen in my freezer (and for many Kenyans) is some meat and mostly left-over food.🙂. That said, I want to get me some frozen SAMOSAS!!!!!!!!
Yes I agree with you 100%. I understand this isn’t a typical Kenyan style of shopping. It’s the American side coming out that loves buying a big variety of things.. and yes the frozen things are not cheap. The grocery prices have gone up significantly here even over the past year. I haven’t tried the samosas yet but I’m excited to try. Thanks so much for your comment 😊
Thanks for that comparison. As a Kenyan, I have to admit I have never purchased almost all those things in your list 😅😅😅 But to give another angle to the comparison, it's worth mentioning that most families survive on local markets for fruits, vegetables, meats and cereal. So it's still possible to spend much less for someone interested in pursuing that alternative I should also say I watch every single one of your videos because I like learning from your experience living in US and in Kenya and how to convert hobbies into businesses 😊😊😊
Yes, I definitely understand that the shopping haul is not a typical Kenyan shopping .. it’s the American side coming out. Haha. We do shop at local markets very often as well.. it’s always a mixture of groceries. Thanks so much for watching and for the kind comment. I wish you well in all your endeavors!
She's very far from the riots .only happened in Nairobi central business district near parliament offices the rest of the country is safe .and by evening everything had cooled down
Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy your videos. I found myself getting as excited as the kids over the bunnies 😂😂😂 Are fruits and veggies a lot cheaper compared to U.S.?
As I just moved to Japan and get to explore supermarkets here as well, I’m super curious about grocery shopping in other countries as well! So cool to see what you get to buy 😍
So with 3 kids u need btw 30-70k monthly food.

Go for it Makenze, yes, convenience.
That will be more than $400 in USA.
Grocery shopping is very pricey lately.

I couldn’t help to notice Lucas too, it made my heart smile ❤
I noticed that too about Lucas and I had my "Aww" moment lol. It was so sweet to see that.
Saw Lucas giving his kid sister way and I was like Wow 😊 my heart smiled. His maturity is on another level, and he's also so chilled 🧡🧡🧡

I understand this for sure. This is just how we shop and what works for us
You forget that there are three children and their snacks.
Your shopping I saw you go 2 soap but I didn't see detergent toilet tissue dish detergent paper towels of course you don't need to get this everytime but......❤
There was dish washing paste, in a yellow tub.
I believe every family has got their own preferences. Ask anyone from the West and they will tell you that this is very reasonable.
Avocados are in season try blending with bananas and nuts yum yum yum

Asante sana. We will have to come visit your farm.
How can I not love this family. Unity all the way. Family all the way.....
Sending love back to you 🥰
Very expensive indeed , thanx for shzring❤❤
Wonderful family with three amazing kids indeed your daughter is so beautiful and both of them are well brought up ⬆️ children.
Loved this videooo!! I love to see the common food items that your country has opposed to the USA.
Its more useful to tell us the cost of each individual item than the grand total. Its hard to compare the way you did it.
True.. that would have taken me a lot of time 😂
@@Mekenzeinkenya😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I appreciate your honesty. That's about the same amount here for 10-12 days in US. Lovely family😊
Love watching your videos ❤
Good video as usual my Limiri friends 😊
Your 10-day grocery expenditure has challenged me to find smart ways of getting out of my "comfort" zone 🤣🤣🤣
Haha . Just sharing how we do things in our family. I know not everyone shops the same way in Kenya.
Sure, have enjoyed the video.good to enlighten on the dollar versus shilling diference

Thanks for sharing. It’s interesting how things vary around the world .. also depending on the stores people like to shop.
Lol those rabbits run fast. Definitely a bunny circus 😊
Imagine thats total is someone's salary here in Kenya and even less and we are surviving,God be with us,#reject finance bill#
I love the limiri's family
We spend 100USD per week for a family of 4, 2 kids and 2 adults, this is a good and fair spend for a family of 5 🎉
Ya I agree 😊
loved the vlog but you have goats have you tried making yogurt and cheese
No we haven’t yet
May you be kept safe where you are.

I spend 40 usd a whole mnth
Left Kenya about 20 years, foods were all natural from open market, but now wow everything looks westernized looks like u just left Walmart
Ya Naivas is definitely Kenya’s version of a Walmart.. there are still tons of open markets.. the American in me likes shopping from both options . 😊
Life is hard but I saw sugar has been reduced, hope things will get better with time
Groceries have become significantly more expensive in the last year.. for sure.
Stay bless form Jamaica
Try nala noodles 😋😋😋😋
We love those ones too
That would cost you three times more in Washington DC.
I believe it!
Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy your videos. I found myself getting as excited as the kids over the bunnies 😂😂😂

Way cheaper 😊
Haha thanks for watching! They love bunnies so much. Yes, produce is a lot cheaper.
Way way way cheaper

Many thanks...❤❤❤
Ms mckenzic i haven't seeing your dog in the video. Is he ok
Yes, they’re great. They stay in their own space of the compound during the day otherwise they will chase and eat the chickens and ducks 😂

my Shopping worth $10 lasts for a month 😂😂😂
That’s amazing. Our shopping for groceries brings out our American side 😂 this is actually a very reasonable price for groceries compared to USA.
@@Mekenzeinkenyayes come out for tomorrow's demonstrations the government must reduce the taxes😂
Thanks
What's the cost of the same shopping in the US?
I’d say at least $350-$400.
I love Bradegate pizza!
We do too! It seems it tastes even better these days too.. compared to a couple years ago
cut down junk food. tying healty breakfast farm food for the kids., get avacado.. visit local market for fruits friendly budget
