That’s a wrap for Periphery!

Alpha & Omega are one album in my opinion, it's one cohesive story told in two parts.
I still think of alpha and omega as one album.
I always listen to Juggernaut back to back, alpha to omega.
I’m convinced even with how ridiculously good Periphery V is, Juggernaut is still their best work to date.
the scourge is the best song on this album and i will not hear otherwise
Absolutely underrated. Goes so fucking hard
One of my favorite periphery songs
100%. When the breakdown hits I get boosebumps every time. Heaviest shit I’ve ever heard.
Yea, that song is just different
I was waiting for you to catch the connection of The Event to Wildfire. Periphery used the same chord progression from The Event for the chorus of Wildfire.
Cheers🤘
My man! I don't know if you realize, but there are a couple of references from Juggernaut in a couple of P5 songs and one of those references comes from this album and it sounds SO obvious which one is
I see everyone mentioning that “The Event” is the Wildfire chorus, but don’t forget about the “Four Lights” breakdown in Zagreus!
Edit: HAIL STAN is my favorite, by the way. I don’t know how it will resonate with you, but you should listen.
Adore this album and Omega! The bridge in Rainbow Gravity is so fucking good too
essentially the Alpha experience:
first go around: its a bit cringe.
second go around: thats actually REALLY catchy.
Outro to Psychosphere is one of my favourite moments from their entire discography
Alpha and Omega together is easily my favorite Periphery album and just straight up one of my favorite albums ever. This and Altered State were the bridges that took me from metalcore to prog so even after all these years they still hold up very well imo
Juggernaut combined is their best album by far but I think Alpha is my favorite. The repeating riffs and ambient stuff that happens between the two albums get me every time. You're listening to a song on Omega and at points, your brain realizes that the ambient part was in an Alpha song. The more you listen to it the better it gets. I love sound of Alpha so much, it sounds so different compared to the rest of their stuff. It was the first Periphery album I listened to so I'm 100% biased for it.
Psychosphere still has to be one of the best songs I've ever heard in my life. ^^ Glad you checked this out Drew!
I probably don't need to tell you that it grows on you over time. Periphery's pop influences have always made it hard for some people to accept right away. It's why so many didn't like Spencer's vocals years ago, and those catchy choruses in Heavy Heart and Alpha definitely sound a little "poppy". But if Periphery's DNA is 95% metal and 5% pop, then that 5% is what makes them more unique.
I think you should check out some of After the Burial's older albums. Particularly Rareform and A Wolf Amongst Ravens. If you haven't already heard them. Fuckin' BANGERS!
Rareform is a masterpiece
@@nitroflux_o1040 Agreed!
Came to your most recent relevant video just to give a recommendation since this album has been stuck in my head for years. Shreddy Krueger - Deeper Darker. Really feel like it was ahead of its time and the record label must have fumbled the bag somewhere because it has insane replay value yet it has been sadly lost to the underground. Promise its worth a listen, wouldn't waste my time commenting if it wasn't.
Dawg how’d you never listen to this? I sorta assumed u checked it out off TH-cam 😂 edit: also the event is the same as the wildfire chorus. Haven’t finished the video so maybe you picked up on that later on but ya. Kinda neat.
You don't understand ... reaction youtubers use to live under a stone and they only come out when there is another reaction youtuber reacting to something so they have also to react at it as they wouldn't have seen it in the reaction of that other reaction youtuber ... that's why it's called re-act ... cause it's acted by re-actors ... until the core meltdown occurs and the reaction material is outscted.
Tinfoil hats are out…..😂😂
@@DrewFortune97 nah I believe you 😂
@@DrewFortune97 😂 that was fun to write ... but you have to admit ... there are reaction youtubers out there like this
How was the Polaris gig mate saw them in Brisbane a couple weeks ago the day before my 18th birthday it was amazing met their drummer dan and the lineup of currents, kublai khan and august burns red was unbelievable currents are on of my favourite bands and they absolutely slapped and Polaris as a proud Aussie so unbelievably proud of them what a band they killed it
the scourge is my shit.. it does revolve around "that part" of the song but the buildup is so damn good when it hits.
The bridge on Rainbow Gravity is the most underrated Periphery moment by far
PV is definitely a grower, give it a couple more listens. Dracul Gras took a couple more 👌🏻
Dracul Gras is a fucking banger. I didnt like it and then it litearlly was in in my top 5 songs played on repeat this year.
I revisted juggernaut recently after P5. I wasn't hot on this 8 years ago but now I genuinely think its tied with 3 as my favorite and tied with 4 as the best. The songwriting here is VERY tight here, not sloppy at all like in P2 and P5. Its not consistently mind-blowing but these are just good songs with good solos and vocals but with enough periphery baked in.
I was a Patreon sub and I loved the content you put out, but I'm a self employed PT in London Soho now and it's hard to afford but I'm ready to return!
No stress my friend, appreciate your support either way❤️
Just subbed to your patreon 🤘
Loving Juggernaut as a whole. Prime Periphery for me! 🔥👌
I remember giving this album a hard time in my younger years, but as I've grown, it also has grown on me, big fan of Alpha and Omega.
Curious as to why there are no reactions of The Amity Affliction by you Drew 😢
All the people mentioning Alpha and Omega should have been one album, there’s an interview with Jake and Mark mentioning it was written as a single album but was just too long to fit as one so they decided to split it. I’ll try to find the link in a bit. Hope that helps!
Edit: Found it… @22:37 on this interview…

Is the Omega reaction not on youtube? I can't find it and have yet to see it.
It got blocked, so it’s exclusively on Patreon!
for those of you that don't know what a reprise is, half of this album is a reprise
It's kind of a shame you did alpha/omega out of order considering it's a concept album and I feel like it slightly ruined the experience for you
Facts
Rainbow gravity? I think you meant epiphany concealing fate part 5
You did all Periphery IV? Never seen it
My ranking
1. P4
2. P2
3. PJ:A
3.PJ:O
4. P5
5. P3
6. P1
Periphery, love that shit! This album is a grower, but it is one of their worst for sure, the golden standard for me is P2 but P3 and P5 are close.
You have not finished their discography! You haven't yet listened to Clear!
stranger things is one of the best metal songs ever written
Periphery is so whack. I can count the number of decent songs on each album with one hand, every time there was a release. Reptile, Pale Aura, and The Bad Thing being their biggest bangers.
