A Minister with a clear understanding of the challenges involved, AND with a (now proven) practically viable, action plan to meet these challenges. More power to your decisions and to their implementation.
The step to discontinue power supply from the grid to the State Distribution companies not paying the bill is the right one and should be applied stringently. The amount of debts of states should be deducted from their share of CGST that is due to them. Otherwise the populist State leaders will not learn their lessons.
What a great explanation and clearity of thought process. He explained the current scenario with utmost precision. We need such ministers who take tough stand and foster reforms which will eventually benifit the general public in long run. Salute to you Sir. Our country needs more ministers like you🙏
I am glad to have a Minister who is through in his understanding of his sector and is able to articulate his / Government’s plan of action clearly. And his decency to credit his predecessor is laudable.
Completely agree with you on freebies . Reform of distribution is much awaited. In all developed countries distribution is through common lines with multiple competing retail suppliers Singh Sir, it is a pity that Nubra valley near Leh works on diesel gensets. We should have grid connection. There are power cuts during the day. Nubra is a key location for Ladakh tourism. Locals are quite unhappy.
Good to see the faces of audience , they looked shocked to know the fact from the minister when he was telling about dues from state government and what will happen if they behave properly.well done minister
We need robust, repeated and deep dive public debates on the subject of Electricity , the most political of our subjects . We all should be brought uptodate on the entire chain of issues that challenge the sector. Irresponsible politicians must be called out in no uncertain terms.
The privatisation of electricity retail as the minister is saying and yes he is right, this is done in Melbourne Australia, is not much of competition. transmission is regulated, distribution is regulated and only retail is competitive, but the differentiation between theoffers of retailers is meaningless and trivial, more important so confusing for the consumer that there is a default option.
They we we are growing, the way we want to grow in future is totally depends upon how best we are managing the whole things prudently. Internal structure, capabilities, people development and better management, irrespective of situation and challenges is real requirements. Minister has much more clarity, the same clarity should be at state and their power companies. If this is not well aligned, integrated for better coordination and management to achieve efficiency and effectiveness at same level, the our states have same states in future too. Management aspects needs to develop and handle prudently.

Freebies culture was initiated by the current ruling party which Mr Singh represents. While the minister putting 1 finger to respective states govt, in reverse 3 fingers he is putting on his own self. While addressing the question he indeed is exposing his own political party.
Completely ill informed comment. Freebies is an issue on which there has to be a pre declared source from which they are to be extended. There should be a constitutional provision for all items which even remotely resemble freebies where such declarations are needed and will be held to the elected representatives while in office. Although we see politicians with their ideology, every top minister has some passion for public service.
