My 1st experience in the Philippines was December of 1983. I was in the U.S.Navy and I was going to meet my ship, CVN-65 U.S.S. Enterprise. I ended up staying at NAS Cubi for over 3 months waiting for the ship to come in. During that time I made dozens of successful missions into Olongapo. There I learned to love lumpia, San Miguel beer and the Filipino people. I was to return to Subic a year later on our 1984 Westpac. I have a lot of fond memories of that place.
Lmao this was so funny to watch. I love how they just go with the flow and don't really take any of it too seriously. I wouldn't be able to sleep on the ferry either but hey, it's part of the adventure
I’ve taken the overnight ferry before, in cheap economy bunk beds . Thankfully I was 10 yrs old and didn’t realize how it truly must’ve sucked for my mom. I just went with the flow! Like you did! Great video.
Ah we had to do some early mornings for ferries on our trip in The Philippines, but never had an overnight one! Sorry you guys didn't get the best sleep, still probably better than being in the dorm though! Much love from the UK! ❤️
Oh my! What an adventure, for sure! Would love to see what Allison has packed, as far as clothing! Seems to always be stylish, comfy and different options! 👍😊
Thanks so much! Packing is always the hardest part of getting back on the road. We always mean to do an official packing video, but haven't quite gotten around to it. I'm sure we will one day! 🧳
Your ferry ride brings me back to my childhood when my family and I traveled from Cebu to Cagayan or Bacolod. We could only afford the economy accommodations. How times have changed. Definitely more “luxurious” than when I was a kid. It was still so much fun!
I absolutely love you guys!!! I came across your channel mid December and I just finished watching all of your adventures starting at the very beginning!! Nice to see Tal again and Matt from a couple videos back! Please continue doing what you are doing!! You exude so much positivity and light! I can’t wait to see what adventures you will have next!! 💙💙
What a wild and crazy trip. Glad you make sure the food you eat won't make you sick! Your attitude really does help you get through some rough patches! The plane would be good but where would the adventure be? So glad you show the good, bad and ugly, it makes it much more interesting! Can't wait to see the Island.
We definitely knew going into it that it'd be a wild journey, and we weren't wrong, haha! Other than the bad sleep...and food...and the general chaos at the ports, we actually had quite a fun time on the ferries. At the least, it was way more entertaining than the flight would have been. 😂We can't wait to show off the island soon!

Thanks so much, Melissa! Glad you enjoyed the adventure. The leopard skirt's from American Eagle 🐆😊and the red one I ordered on Amazon...not sure if it's a specific brand... 👗
Wow, hats off to you. I cannot bear taking an overnight boat ferry in the Philippines. Considering that growing up in the Philippines, i used to take ferry boats from Visayas to Manila all the time. I do not do that anymore. The advent of low cost airlines has changed travelling habits in Asia. There are a lot of cheap airfares around from several airlines. Anyway, at least you experienced it once. Now you know.
Hello Eric & Allison 👋 After a long journey.. You finally made it to Siargao 🌴🙌 I'm pretty sure you guys will have a great time in this amazing island 👌👌 not to mention Tal is your chauffeur 😁😁 Amping Pirmi (Take Care Always)

As The Saying Goes... IT’S MORE FUN IN THE PHILIPPINES!!! ...Feeling just a little bit out of your comfort zones makes everlasting memories and way more special after it’s all done. 😁👍
👆truth! And honestly, even though the sleep was pretty terrible and it was a lot of frantic running around to catch ferries/taxis, it was pretty fun at the end of the day 😊and of course, very memorable!
Good job guys, thanks for sharing this video, and showing the reality trip in the philippines, lots of patience guys🤭🤭🤭🤭 😘 Better get a plane next time 👍👍😊🤭

When planes used to be very expensive and inaccessible, my family and I goes to Cebu from Manila every summer when I was a kid. We usually sleep in the economy. This video made me miss my childhood.
I've taken the ferry from Cebu to Hilongos (Southern Leyte) on the Thressian Stars Ferry and there was a cockroach about 5 inches long standing on one of the walls (we were in Tourist Class where you can rent sheets for your bunk). Even the Filipinos were amazed. Welcome to the RP!
I felt exhausted watching this, so I don't know how you guys must have felt! What a long trip! I like the fact that you find time to video the journey itself. It really gives the viewer the feeling of travelling along with you!
@@Theendlessadventure Yes! Such a long journey provides lots of memories, even if about discomfort, exhaustion or what ever. Short flights are instantly forgettable. One of the things I think is so positive about your decision to travel are all the memories it generates! Memories are one of the things that keeps life enjoyable and stimulating. When we are stuck in a 9-5 job, days blur into each other and with it our lives can vanish. Travel opens up new experiences every day and gives purpose! No wonder you two seem so happy!

This looked hellish! Did Alison get her ID back? I sure hope she did! I’m so glad you guys finally got there and you’re about to explore and see what the island has to offer! Looking forward to it! 🥰
I did, thanks for asking! It actually got buried in the storage room and we couldn't find it at first, but then they tracked down the person who gave us the key the night before and he found it for me 👍I was a bit nervous for a bit there though! 😅 The island's beautiful - we can't wait to start showing it off soon!
