Glad you were smart and did the right thing... I understand the disappointment, for sure, but the trail will still be there for you. Hope you can knock it out in the fall! Thanks for sharing!
I'm glad you called it...wise decision...you didn't fail. Failure would have been catastrophic. Heats nothing to mess with. Hope you're able to get back and redo the hike.
@@robertmattice2588NeverTooOld Yes, I agree. Failure would be more closer equated to something super serious, possibly death. Why do we beat ourselves up because we didn't make our goals, yet we see other TH-camrs breeze through without a care. You had beautiful views, you probably had a cool campsite at AuSable east, the lighthouse was pretty cool. I failed this week too. Thought I was going to do an overnight on the NCT, carried my 30+lb pack 6.4 miles and called it. Extreme heat + biting insects = dehydration. It just does.
Trail Angels come in many forms. The smartest move was to call it when you did. You certainly did not fail, as you used your head. Chapel Loop is a great hike.
Cutting it short was the right decision, smart. Not a fail. Next time!! Thanks for sharing - and great views in your video!
@@SamCornelius-v8w Thanks
Not a fail. Awesome attempt. F the heat. Fall is more beautiful. Crush it then! Cheers Brother!
Thanks

I chalk it up to better luck next time. Maybe both of us will have better luck.
