    Saving seeds from the best plants during harvest may give you better results next time. Pest pressure is crazy because even they are not used to the changes. Keep a journal.

    Good morning Marty and fam. I'm not sure what it's called but I believe the potatoes have been effected by the wet. Even though things are cheap to buy , you can't beat the produce that you grow in your own garden. I look at it as if you plant one potato and you only get two or more spuds then you have got one hundred percent returns on investment and any more is awesome. Nothing tastes better than the food you grow yourself. 💚🌲🌏🙏

    I just cut my mint down totally and covered over it with seed raising soil, hopefully I get plenty of new mint shoots for Christmas!

    Too hot and wet for spuds, usually plant in July and feb. They do not produce tubers if soil temps get higher than 30 deg.Grew them best by mowing short a grassy area.spread b&b , chook fertiliser pellets.Shovel full compost every 30cm place a spud on these, then another shovel of compost, cover with straw or hay. keep covering as leaf growth with any type of mulch.Gives great yields and huge spuds.

    Self sufficiency stuff is a must for everyone in the world that is to come, very soon .Not like Mark in huge acres but advice for the house block homes. Also balconies like yu first videos. People should at lest have the seed collected and the videos downloaded onto sticks for when they can’t buy food and can no longer deny reality.

    Aww no looks to me like either late blight or damping off both associated with to much rain

    Up here in the north I have to look everywhere to source my planting potatoes in early march. Come the end of winter early spring it’s way to hot for them to grow.

    Even Jerry C_W says potatoes are hard in the subtropics. I had a go anyway and used straw and worm castings and compost, and they wilted, but also lots of rain. Good to remember compost holds so much more water!

    • @martysgarden
      @martysgarden  วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, compost really does retain the moisture, to much for the spuds, Live and learn

      @@martysgarden being a born again Queenslander I cant believe the rainfall. There’s no summer, it’s not wet season it’s flood season or drowning season ! As a southerner you don’t think you’ll ever use a winter greenhouse but I think you need one here to keep the rain off! But with air conditioning .

    Marty I can’t grow chills for the life of me
    And lettuce has never been that great but I’m going to give lettuce another go. We can only try. The main thing is that it’s helping with my head and I’m so enjoying seeing what has changed from one day to the next. Good or bad lol 😆

    Marty, I have to put on my Bio security hat on a bit . First question the spuds you planted were they supermarket leftovers or certified seed spuds. If not certified dig the thing out and a bit of soil around it or you could end up contaminating the whole district Please read this re what appears to me a form of blight en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phytophthora_infestans

      Even our government gives zero rats about biosecurity.
      Importing diseased seafood (white spot) from countries with none-less food standards than us.
      The spread of fire ants and the pathetic lack of controls when the were first detected.
      The spread and control of the varroa destructor mite from Newcastle “sentinel hives”, that regularly went unchecked for months. Then the beekeeper (who they’ve kept a secret) who spread his hives out across the state after red zones were established.
