He makes average players look better. Superstar players are superstar players regardless. The problem is if you are a superstar who is the 3rd option behind LeBron you better get ready to take a step back. The 2nd superstar teammate gets to eat though. A la D Wade, Kyrie and AD. Kevin Love is terrible example because imo he was never a superstar. Just a All-star level player who put up great stats that didn't translate to wins for his team.

This “lebron can’t play off-ball” narrative is totally overblown. In his early cavs years yes he couldn’t but since around 2011 he has been able to play off ball effectively. He can cut, screen and roll, runs and fills the lane in transition, backdoor lobs, and seal players under the basket. The only thing he can’t do offball is catch and shoot and there’s way more to off ball play than to be able to catch and shoot

    • @WARVROOM55
      @WARVROOM55 ปีที่แล้ว +3

And the way jokic plays in his offense is diff because of position and also because the nuggets role players move off ball and are all of the same page. Watch lebron in 2017 and 2012-2013 he was making alot of more quicker passes because his teammates were making timely cuts and moving without the ball

The issue isn’t the production dip from the guys he plays with. It’s that those guys always have to make a major sacrifice to fit the lebron system because lebron has never been willing to sacrifice his game or his numbers to meet his costars in the middle. Like mustard said, when the bigman is bud costar it’s a lot easier because bron still gets to control the offense 100%. But he’s gonna set the big up himself. He’s gonna get AD the ball himself. Which is fine and it works. But that third guy and the role players don’t get to shine and maximize their potential next to lebron. They are forced to play a specific way to benefit the way lebron wants to play. I’d rather jr play the way he played in NY than him just he a ok three and D guy. I’d rather k love gets to be in the post a bit more, run some pnr/ pop and utilize his inside out game than just be another guy standing in the corner. Lebron led offenses are effective for sure. And they are very efficient. But the one thing that has always stagnated them is the lack of dynamic scoring punch from anyone besides lebron and whoever is his second best player. If lebron was more willing to sacrifice some of his game and do other things that we know for sure he can do (set screens, be a cutter off ball sometimes, post up, run more free flowing sets to get guys moving around, etc) the offense would open up alot more and his other guys production would increase. But when they are only allowed to stand in the corner, then that’s all they will ever be good for.

You must have missed the LeBron and D Wade era Miami Heat and LeBron and Kyrie CLE Cavs. Neither of them had to sacrifice their games. The only stars who have to change their game is always the 3rd star who becomes the 3rd option i.e Chris Bosh and Kevin Love. You say you rather JR play the way he did in NY and LOSE rather than him become a solid 3 and D player and WIN? You'd rather Kevin Love play in the post and the offense ran through him and LOSE instead of playing his role on that CLE team and WIN? What are we talking about here? As talented as JR was as a baller he was viewed as an immature and erratic head case before joining CLE. Kevin Love put up great stats on a T Wolves team as the 1st option and never led them to a winning season. So you mean to tell me you as a GM and Coach would tell your best player (LeBron James) to take a backseat to run the offense through players that aren't nowhere near the player he is and have never proven to be proven winning players? Bro you would get fired so quick by any organization with that perspective. Lol

They ran SO much action for K Love in his spots, ya’ll are just trying to rewrite history that this man was just somehow only relegated to the corner bro.
Like bro, when you have 3 offensive talents like that there’s only ONE ball, and the least effective player’s production is gonna dip from when they were on a trash team getting all the shots.

It’s crazy how everything u said it’s literally wrong.
Lebron post 2011 has done everything you mentioned. His 2013 and 2014 szns were so ridiculously efficient was due to him playing off the ball and him getting east baseline cuts and coming off pin downs for lobs.
The funny thing about the klove thing is he was top 5 in post points per game and were always hitting him in his spots numerous times especially if the offense went dry, they’d feed it to klove and it was generating offense again.
Saying the role players don’t shine when playing with lebron is also very wrong. Just look at this season Vs the grizzlies for instance, if the offense was slow and bron or Ad weren’t generating something Ar or Dlo would give light or if neither of them were clicking at that moment. Rui was getting fed because he can get to the post. On the Cavs Jr relatively did the same thing. For some spark offensively Jr was getting the ball and since he shoots anything once he’s got it’s giving more life back into the offense rather than Kyrie isos high pnr with lebron and TT or post ups that are all dead plays since they aren’t on one

I’d like to know what type of guards and wings can’t play well with Lebron
Dominant Guards- if the team is well constructed Bron would basically play the AG role as a cutter. See 2023 Bron off ball numbers
Scoring Guards- We’ve seen this win 3 chips
3nD POA Guards- one of the best type of archetypes you can put with Bron as he will remain on ball here
3nD Perimeter wings- Again, great archetype for Bron
Perimeter Defense wings (no shooting)- tough but can be masked by other shooters, if willing cutter they will succeed
Big Wing Post defender- Again, make yourself available and he will find you, if this wing has a middy this is a great fit (similar to the scoring guards)
    Pure Sniper- lol easy money
Undersized Stretch Big- Again, 3 chips
Rim protecting big- small sample size but this also won a chip
Switchable Big- hard to find these defensive gems but if you do they can cause a lot of disruption leading to transition and I don’t think I need to say anymore about that for Bron and team lol
Like, the reason Bron is extremely portable is for 3 simple reasons:
    - He is one of the best facilitators of all time
    - He has a reliable scoring option that is well defined- attack the rim
    - He is a willing screener, cutter and a great shirt roll passer. This last one is what brings it all together.

First time hearing of the term "portable player", but how would lebron not be the most portable player ever? He's won with 3 different teams. Each team was built differently. Just by looking at the number 2 player you can tell that Wade, kyrie, and AD all have different skill sets. Which also caused Bron to play a different role in winning each of those ships as well. How are bird, magic, jordan, and jokic more portable when they had teams built around their skills? I can see if he made arguments for players that played with other teams but then that's exactly where the argument falls apart because nobody has had the kind of success that bron has had with multiple teams.

Eh not really, lebron demanded that each team he went to made trades and signings to fit his play style, thats why he takes mainly short term deals, and that’s why they call him “le gm” 😂

People are either ready for the lime light or “they are not” when it comes to playing with lebron. Like ticket said look at kyrie, look at Dwade, heck look at Austin reeves… every time lebron plays it’s PPV. So get ready for the cameras

  • @AveryB.0

Lebron always let guys/helped those rock out as Ticket said. Dwade before the injuries never got criticized because he was hooping! Same with Kyrie in Cleveland and AD his first year in LA. The reason people get criticized is because for the vast majority of time Lebron plays at an all time elite level, and then people/the media look to others who aren't pulling their weight. Look no further than these past playoffs when AD had 5 games in the teens including an 11 point game. You gonna get criticized when there are championship aspirations
