Once you’ve found your favourite blade shapes, you can replace some of the shapes you don’t see yourself using (keep them, obviously, but they don’t need to be mounted and under tension if you hardly ever use them) with extras of your favourites. That way you get duplicates to use for porcelain and stoneware and save yourself some washing up. 😊

Wow that is a LOT of merchandise; That whole box of tools costs a lot of money - but they are worth every penny! The people at Diamond Core Tools are lovely people and if you're not sure what tools to choose give them a call -- they are wonderful people and will give you any guidance you might need. The tools ARE expensive but the blades never get dull; However, you have to treat those tools properly and not toss them around because the blades CAN break (they do sell replacements -- most people say they never need one). . They have trimmers of a variety of different shapes & curves and I think you might find one of a different shape for those specific tasks you mentioned in the video. Good luck using them; you're going to enjoy it! They also have a 3 piece Sgraffito Stylus Tool set which is great for delicate carving, to do inlays and mishima, etc.; much nicer than just using a pin tool. I'm very jealous! LOL

Thank you for sharing, Florian! Because you're correct, there aren't that many videos that provide good feedback about tools, even more specifically, trimming tools. I have recently thought about investing in a few DiamondCore tools for both trimming and carving, but I couldn't find any videos that were helpful in helping me make a decision about which ones. Your video is perfectly timed, so I appreciate it so much! 🙌😍

Love DiamondCore tools. I'm quite excited for you to try their handle extruders. I was highly skeptical of them producing decent results, but they were a godsend in terms of how quickly, easily, and consistently handles could be produced! It's a genius product. Very curious for what you think as such a prolific and high volume potter.

What a wonderful gift. As with all new tools, it will take a while for you to figure out the use of all of those but it leads to a great adventure. I really do enjoy your videos, and I always stay to the very end to watch the tidy up.

There are people who make sets of polyhedral dice who actually buy small potter's wheels and turn them into rotary sanders! The horizontal surface and speed control of these wheels makes them ideal for that use.

Diamond Core makes wonderful tools but the wheel sanding disks are so perfect for porcelain bottoms. I also love the hand carving tools but could see they wouldn't be particularly useful to your current practice. They are costly to invest in but last forever and the blades are easy to change.
