    I shopped around back in Feb for mine and can honestly say it’s been the best business purchase I’ve made in the 10 years I’ve been running. I’m a builder if that’s of any interest.
    I have tried new 4x4 Ute, a wagon and 2 vans. Previous Hiace model and the Staria.
    I have weighed my van at the tip and calculated around 800kg constantly in my van and I average around 6.8 to 7.2L in fuel consumption which works out to about 1100km per fill, I have the lift back gate option. Fully set up with racks and drawers, the walk through is great not having the middle seat, I put my plug in fridge in there and it fits perfectly. The base model has the bulk head compartments also which is nice. I’ve done 25,000km now and it’s faultless, the seating positioning is good with up and down adjustment as well. Drivers door is a solid thick armrest. The base model has wireless Apple CarPlay which is strange the premo version doesn’t.
    In the van you sit nice and high with a big inbuilt step to get in and out easy.
    I’ve gone from getting home fatigued and grumpy to getting home revived from a relaxing drive and still 10 odd months on I look forward to getting in it.
    I have just one thing I’m not the most thrilled on and that’s the headlights not being overly bright at night although it could be worse. Hyundai should upgrade all models with the led version in the premium model that’s just come out.
    All in all if I had my time again I’d still purchase the exact same van with no hesitation at all. The van is built well and feels like a quality vehicle and I give it a 5 out of 5 personally. still think it’s an ugly as heck van but a lot of people comment on it and say it looks cool but each to there own, It’s a work van for me and that’s it’s purpose and with its aerodynamics I’m assuming that’s an added benefit with the fuel consumption.
    Like all things new you need to adjust, I found it to be big in the beginning but after a couple of weeks you become one with it and it becomes second nature, the 360 degree cameras are pretty good in helping with that as well, especially the Birds Eye view.
    In my opinion it’s the best in its class and I definitely rate it over the Hiace, I drove all van makes before my purchase so it is unbiased. Hope this helps a Tradie or 2.

    Excellent review. Just would have liked you to cover off on the crew cab capability even if briefly as not everyone buys these vans for commercial puposes and would like to know addition passenger comfort as well as 'private workhorse' flexibility.

    if you want a posh commercial van (seems like a misnomer) that isnt a V class then is is your best bet. I like that is has cameras all around

    I have 2023 Hyundai staria premium set up for camping.economy is 6.2 to 7 depending on hills ect comfort.reliability
    is excellent and have traveled 13000kms in 4 months on all sorts of roads with 100 percent reliability.would like to see a bigger fuel tank say 150 liters instead of the.72 supplied.very nice van.

    I love the Hyundai design language and in this van, it continues to impress with its design, I am eagerly waiting for this van to release in India as well because it looks like something from outer space😊.

    Matt just dropped off a rental 2 days 355Kays moving to my new place here in QLD...strong engine...no handle driver side to pull one's self up though passenger has one...strange.
    Arm rest driver window side takes a lot to get used to as it is back right up against B-pillar.
    Useful load...filled it to the roof...it drove better under load.
    Useful review. Cheers.

    Really good review. Keep up the good work. This being 2023 who is going to buy a poverty spec entry level anything! Also a bulk head should be mandatory equipment. It’s just unsafe if you don’t have one fitted.
    Me personally I would spend the extra $ & get the premium every day of the week. Pre paid services are absolute BS as an independent mechanic in Melbourne I really wish they would just get rid of them.

    Too much tech, and all vans should be barn doors. Keep it simple Hyundai and keep the price down!

    If you transport pipes on the roof the spoiler won’t let you lift up the tale gate, barn doors is the way.

    If this is the Premium model Matt, why isn’t there glass in the sliding doors? I have 2, 2016 model Merc Vito’s & even that was standard then. I have to say though aside from that it is very well appointed!👍🏼

    • @therightcar

      @@therightcar I was highlighting the lack of vision or blind spots without side glass. After driving work vans for over 35 years, no side glass is a matter of when not if, hitting something or someone.

    Thanks so much for the review. Really comprehensive and clear. Although, im still no closer to a decision. But that’s no fault of your review, but my fault for being indecisive and a procrastinator 😁 This van looks ok in this colour, the white for me is too futuristic (?) My fav is the ford custom. Tho the transporter has a kinda of ‘california’/kombi vibe, albeit tenuous 😁 the renault and toyota are just too van like for my intended use - recreational, rather than work vehicle. I’ll keep pondering 🤔 and procrastinating😊 thanks again👍

    • @therightcar
      @therightcar  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ah okay. So, a recreational-style van? Interesting problem to have!
      Sadly we don’t get the Berlingo in Australia anymore. The new-gen one would be a walk up start! Or the Peugeot Rifter!

    • @billx9244
      @billx9244 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you🙂 I’ve heard of the berlingo but knew nothing about it. So I’ve looked it up. Maybe a bit small for my intended use (eg. Carry a mountain bike). So I investigated the rifter. Never heard of it. It looks good🙂 and of course its not available in Oz🤦‍♂️ and the youtube review i found appeared to be a UK one and indicated its now only in EV version🤔 i like the theory of EV, but im just not sold on the practicality in Australia for now🤔 Thanks again for those two options though 🙂 im now thinking about the kia carnival or staria people mover thanks to your other reviews👍

      @@billx9244 I too can't decide between Ford Transit Custom and Hyundai Staria Load Premium. I might wait until the upcoming Volkswagen ID Buzz Cargo is released. Let me know what you think. It should have more range than the EV Transit Custom.
