Bad Disneyland Hotel Experience - PLUS How They Turned it Around

Have you ever had a Bad Disneyland Hotel Experience? In this video I tell you about my recent bad experience at the Disneyland Hotel with a focus on how they turned it around. If you've ever stayed at (or are planning a trip) to the Disneyland Hotel, you know how high your expectations can be. But with expectations so high, we have a long way to fall if something goes wrong. What sets Disney properties apart is how they handle a bad experience.
Things to note about this video:
1. The manager did not know I review hotels
2. I was very polite in all of my encounters (you attract more bees with honey)
3. I did not expect or ask for anything...I just wanted the problem fixed
4. I had just gone through the most stressful 2 years of my life with my husband being diagnosed with a serious auto-immune disease.
Have you had a cast member go the extra mile? Give them a cast compliment!
1. Note their name, the date, time and location of your interaction
2. Let Disney know about it! You can visit a Guest Relations location at any hotel or park, or go on social media! For quick encounters, I like to send a tweet to @DisneylandToday and use the Hashtag #CastCompliment but for ones like what happened in this video, I make the effort to visit a Guest Relations location.

Hey everyone! Have you ever had a bad experience at a Disney Hotel??? More importantly, did Disney manage to turn it around?
@Honest Hotel Reviews Well I did have a bad one at the Grand Californian. We arrived at the hotel and we checked in and they told us to come back when we got a text message, so we go to downtown Disney and we ate at the pizza place called Naples, we got a text message but when we try to open the door it does not open and we go to guest services and they say that it was an accident and they gave us the wrong card! and at the end of the trip we got charged for parking but we got that all sorted out too. Wow this was a long one but hey it is my story
@@quiznos0485 It seems like the room keys are a problem!!!! I'm glad you were able to get the parking fee sorted out. I have been finding that more and more hotels are 'accidentally' charging a parking fee...hmmm. Thanks for sharing your experience and also...how was the pizza? lol

Hotel New York At Disneyland Paris ( Is Now Being Turned Into A Marvel Hotel) But We Had To Change Room 3 Times. The Bathroom Tiles Were Coming Off The Floor. Staff Not So Helpful .. I Think Because All The Rooms Were Like It As It Was Due A Upgrade. We Didn't Get Anything For The Issues. We Also Emailed Disney About It But Had No Reply. Stayed In All Other Disneyland Paris Hotels And They Have All Been Amazing!
This video reminds me of an experience I had at Galaxy's Edge with a very rude cast member. They made me cry but I went to the side in an attempt to not be noticed, when Chewbacca walked over and pretended to eat things out of my hair until I started laughing. I will never forget that act of kindness. Rose sounds like an amazing person and I'm happy to hear that your day got better, especially after the rough couple of years you had.
Awww Jennifer....I'm sorry to hear about that. It's always such a let down when something makes you cry on a vacation...but the really special cast members seem to come out of the wood work and turn things around. I'm a former CM from WDW and lemme just say...it's baffling that the service you received (or didn't) from the Guest Services CM was so rough. In my whole career, I don't think I've ever turned someone away for being in what I perceived as the wrong line, and it's an issue she could have resolved in just a few seconds. Still, I'm glad it worked out for you in the end! I've never been to Disneyland and I am planning a trip in 2022 (pending covid restrictions) and your videos have been so helpful so far! I'm a compulsive planner, so it takes me AGES to decide on anything, and I do a lot of back and forth-ing that drives my boyfriend insane. Thank you so much!
This video just about made me cry 😭 I’m so sorry you and your husband had such a horrible couple of years, but I’m also so glad for you that he’s okay now, and that you ended up having a magical time at the hotel thanks to the lovely manager! The Disneyland Hotel is definitely one I’d love to try one day.

I had a similar experience at both Grand Floridan over Fourth of July, and at Old Key West over New Year's Eve!
Cast there were amazing in any case! This is what sets Disney apart from the rest!

I know!!!! Rose is one of the best managers I have come across in any hotel around the world. I hope they know what they have! We left a Cast Compliment for her after our stay and then I did let them know again on twitter when I first posted the video... but I don't know if she knows we made a video about it.

We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel in January 2018, it was absolutely wonderful. If I had spare money I would truly do it again and again.

I was at the Disneyland Hotel 20 yrs ago for a locksmith convention. I didn’t stay there but I was always curious about Disneyland properties compared to DisneyWorld properties. I think for myself I prefer the Florida tropical vibe over California Hollywood and woods.

Hello there! Thanks so much for asking about my hubby. He's doing quite well everything considered. He is a fighter full of hope & happiness which helps a TON. It's funny I totally understand why some people prefer Florida, but I'm a West Coast girl, so whether it's the humidity, travel time or the time change I can't totally say, but those all play factors in why I favor Disneyland I guess ha ha.

Hey, here’s an idea. When you are this fragile and going thought this much stuff in your personal life, perhaps don’t go traveling, much less traveling to work (complete a review as this is part of your Disneyland hotel review). I find it odd that they need to go out of their way to make all this happen. Yes, Disney creates moments of magic out of moments of misery - a long standing management style they have employed, but setting them up by doing something you should have the common sense not to be extending yourself into just is….well, not very honest.
Setting up? Here’s another idea. Since when is cutting people off when they’re speaking or being rude ok? Whether the person you’re helping is going thru something or not, if your job entails listening and working with people, this behavior is unacceptable. Your way of thinking is interesting…blaming the person who was wronged? Ok.
