Whoever made the comment that LORD of the Dance is corporate because they were at the inaugural; if you go back and watch some of the documentaries, there is Donald posing with Michael and then wife Marla Maples. This was long before he became president. Also, part of Donald's family if I'm not mistaken, is from either Scotland or Ireland, so I'm sure the cultural roots resonated. Regardless of, shows like this are enjoyed by ALL people. Whenever I watch Riverdance or LORD of the Dance, I allow myself to be transported somewhere where everyday troubles and stress fade away. Let's lay politics aside and just enjoy the fun, excitement and warmth that it provides. It's a great stress reliever.

disagree with those who say newer versions of the show aren't as good as the OG. Matt and Erin's version are just as good, make as much $, and energize audiences. Difficult to compare eras... I saw the show in '96 in NJ and was memorized. Matt's show now is just as powerful. And would pay top dollar to sit in a front row seat to see him perform.
Agreed. It feels like a bargain basement score now. Nowhere near as iconic or catchy as the original. I do like the staging a bit more, but the music ruins it for me.
Hm music is updated. Stage reduced. Simple Polished up. BUT 90% its still the 1.! Tour show. And i mean in core the really first show of Flatley. So far reduced. From filling whole football Fields with stage and Audience to.. every Theatre / Arena..
The problem is not every theatre in the world can accommodate a hydraulic stage with raising platforms. Also a lot of theatres don't allow use of flash pots or indoor fireworks so the show and troupe have to adjust to that. I like this new version, up to date music, the backstory is explained a little at beginning & more involvement from the Little Spirit in routines & helping the Lord overcome Don Dorcha with the help of the robots. 26 years strong & still going
Dancers are phenomenal still but they BUTCHERED the music and the vibe. 2011 Dublin show is still my fav. The electric guitar in Warriors made my heart hurt. What the hell happened to Gypsy?
I'm so mesmerized by their talent. Flatley will always be #1 for me. I kind of wish they would have kept the music from the original show though.

Not the same anymore, liked the show's the way they were. Just not the same without Flatley.

i like things with michael flatley more but this is realy not bad. it is still great.
The show is the same with new music and except for the beginning, the music is new and a great stage show.
