Michael is also having to think about him. Since he is Wiley's caretaker now, he also has the pressure of making sure he is safe and loved and cared for. I'm pretty sure Michael did hear what Willow was saying, he's pretty good about doing that usually and he's also pretty good about thinking things through and backing off usually, but now Wiley overrides every instinct that he usually would have. I do believe that Michael thinks he is doing this for Willow, but I also think that he believes he is doing this for Wiley as well. Not just because Willow was Wiley's mother for most of his life so far and he knows and loves her. Also because she would make a good mother for him and he wants her in Wiley's life and because he has that Psycho Nelle going after Wiley and trying to get her hands on him. And we all know that if she gets ahold of that child she will ruin his life and that would also hurt Willow because she does still care for Wiley and she does still love him. Michael is protecting his baby and he is also trying to help Willow. So yeah Michael's heart is in the right place and always has been with this. All those reasons still point to that. Just because he is scared and worried and maybe pushing faster and harder than he probably should, does not mean his intentions aren't still good. And how would Willow feel later on, if she didn't take this chance with Wiley and she ends up losing that baby to psycho Nelle. She would be hurt again and probably add guilt on top of that for not doing everything in her power to protect that baby.
