- Just Birnie’s Winter in Crete - we were extremely lucky to have Phaistos all to ourselves. The weather was perfect and it was a lovely afternoon.
The scenery is incredible and all the information around the place is perfect.
Bravo! Great timing to get the place to yourselves. I always feel more in touch with the history without the crowds.
Exactly! We hate crowded places and always make sure we get to places really early in the morning. This really was something special without people.
When I was there( years ago) no restorations had been made... Including cafetaria😂

Wir hoffen, Galini fast jede Woche besuchen zu können, da wir 20 Minuten entfernt wohnen. Aber das ist nie geplant! Darf ich fragen, warum Sie das wissen möchten? 🌞🌞🌞
@@JustBirnieAdventures Ich bin bereits 6 mal infolge in Galini gewesen und haben mich total in dieses kleine Dorf verliebt.Derzeit suche ich dort ein kleines Haus oder eine Wohnung.Bin immer im Hotel Minos bei Marilena und Janis gewesen.2 ganz tolle und liebe Menschen.
Sorry... So much for a tourist../ mentioning coffe shops... If so, why bother going there!?
It’s a changing time and many tourist places offer refreshments if some kind. I would love to have see so many places without the coffee shops etc but now they are there, I mention them so tourists can support and know they can buy refreshments without bringing their own. I know many people who have visited Phaistos Palace before and now go to enjoy a coffee or something being in the wonderful surroundings of the palace and beautiful views 🥰🌞🥰
@@JustBirnieAdventures HMM... INSTEAD OF GIVING US MORE INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ANCIENT " MINOANS"!? ANYWAY IT IS YOUR CHOICE TO PROMOTE TODAY' S FACILITIES NEAR BY SUCH BEAUTIFUL ANCIENT LOCATION... PEOPLE MEMORY IS VERY SHORT LIVED... BUT HEY, WHEN THE RETURN HOMEL THEY WOULD SAY: " I WAS THERE"! WHERE!? ...WHO CARES....🤣
