Watch Emma Stone look back on her amazing movie career on BBC iPlayer in the UK: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p05l2s4v/ From Superbad and and Easy A to La La Land.
Refreshing to see how genuine Mark Ruffalo is opening up about his self doubts and insecurities in a job and even more comforting seeing Willem encouraging and supporting him.
"Hello interesting older lady" is adorable way to start a conversation. The movie's really entertaining and thought provoking. Bella is a iconic character and so is Emma's performance
Emma Stone's performance in Poor Things is my favorite of the year. She made me adore Bella Baxter and feel every emotion the character was experiencing. It's easily her best work so far.
Am stunning 🎉by the amazing movie , which my son recommended l see . I saw the trailer and wasn’t sure . But curious. Am So glad l went to see it tonight 😅. Will be recommending to everyone. Every performance amazing. Hope lots of Oscars to take home . And set design beyond exquisite ❤
If anyone is interested in some of his music. He has an album, Winterreise; it has an Electro punk, Ultra-Modern pop sound. I found it quite interesting. 😏✌️
Ruffalo deserves and Oscar just for the way he says "ow" after being smacked. I laughed for 60 seconds and I couldn't stop. 60 seconds is way longer than you think.
Him face planting on the staircase landing 15 seconds after he first appears on screen had me laughing so hard I had to pause the movie. And then rewind it a bunch of times 😂
Why do I find it quite awkward? I feel like instead of asking questions he kept doing bits and the actors sometimes had to just fake laugh along It felt like the questions were more to showcase his personality and thoughts on the film than what the actors’ experience was. There were “questions” were the only response you could give was along the lines of “Haha that’s so funny” or “wow you’re so right”
Watched Poor Things the other day. I am still in awe of how different and weird and brave this film is, in an era of way too much safe, pre-packaged, narrow cinema. I am both disappointed and strangely encouraged when I see negative comments about it. Thank you everyone involved!
I think his accent kind of worked with the movie, it was a little quirky and f'ed up but also charming 😂 and the total bizarness of his scenes just made it all work. I loved Bella for the same reasons. But mostly for her wonderful innocence and non apologetic attitude about how she thought and acted. Brilliant film. The crisp pastry scene had me rolling and her dancing with Marks character trying to make her blend in better with his dancing. Hilarious.
I felt the same way. I’ve never walked out of a film filming like what the F is that there were several times during the film I was like what am I watching?
the same, i even watched the credits to the end, after thousands films watched i felt like i'm watching movie for the first time, strange and fascinating feeling
Willem Dafoe is such a lovely person through and through. The whole cast seems like a dreamy lot who would be a ton of fun to hang out with and genuinely nice people.
I totally appreciate the importance of Lily's nomination, but... Emma deserves the Oscar for this performance. It is so singular, so unlike anything we have ever seen before...and it is a once-in-a-lifetime role/performance. Let's award the PERFORMANCE, not the background of the actor playing the role.
English is not my first language, i watched the film with subtitles, i cannot say if a British accent is good or not. But i can say that marc raffalo was hilarious. I haven't laughed that much in a film for ages! Incredible film all around!
i've just seen the movie, and I found it unbelievable and Emma never stops surprising us with her performances, honestly she nailed English accent to play her starring role. As a result, she amazed me as much as the whole cast and regarding Willem Dafoe, he's a national treasure, I wish he could win the Oscar, which he's waited for a long time.
This interviewer is a joy - obviously a huge fan of the movie, and he's able to make actual banter which makes the actors so relaxed that they say things, we are actually interested in. Good job!
The dance scene was the most amazing scene in the movie. A woman who had seen dancing and had never been taught how to dance. But, the urge she felt to move to the beat of the music......incredible!
I want to show appreciation towards Ramy Youssef and Jerrod Carmichael. They were both great in the film - especially considering they’re primarily stand-up comedians and have never had such big roles in a movie before
emma stonne is and always be a source of inspiration, she is such a talented performer. from zombieland to spiderman and recently la favorite and poor things. stunning work. i enjoyed the film so much. beatiful dreamy aesthetics and beatiful story. so unique and out of this world
I sooooo enjoy Ali Plumb interviewing--curious, respectful, original, serious/playful, actors always seem to enjoy engaging w/ him; great listener...I'm always smiling after watching his videos❣
I've seen this masterpiece a few days ago and I'm going again in the weekend. It's one of those films that, if you like it, deserves several viewing. Stellar performances by all the actors, awesome cinematography, darkly funny.. wow!
This is a fine example of brilliant and impeccable journalism, to ask interesting questions, knowing the dread of all the press junkets the actors were doing, keep them on their toes, making them comfortable. It's a lesson in how to conduct an interview. Bravo ❤
Fantastic interviewer!!!! I loove when it's interviewers who truly knows (has studied?) film and the questions it pertains, and who gets as excited as the actors!!
Just saw the movie. How refreshing! This is what movies were meant to do. My take on it is that "Poor Things" is a combination of the themes from "Barbie" and "Frankenstein".
I'm obsessed with these clips. The cast clearly had a great time making this movie. Too bad I won't be able to see the movie bcs it's not available in my country. 😢
I loved this movie. It is weird and definitely earns that R rating. But it is also funny, inspiring, beautiful, thought-provoking and timeless. I am still working my way through all the movies that were nominated for Best Picture etc., and at this point I know which one took the prize. But for me, so far, this one is the best.
I was most surprised by Mark Ruffalo's performance than any of the others, as miraculous as they were. Don't get me wrong, he's a fine actor, but this time he took things to an entirely different level.
I always thought the font in these videos for the movies were on the wall behind. But they're edited in, check when everyone chats with their hands, those hands go behind the writing! Mindblown!
Already movie of the year for me. I'm quite confident I won't see a more original, funny and stunningly beatuful movie this year. Emma Stone was just glorious and so were the rest of the cast. An absolute masterpiece. ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Mark ruffalo just killed me - what a performance! “ I’m going to kick your f****ng dog to death!” Whole cast sensational,a beautiful, surreal experience.
While I did have problems with Mark Ruffalo's accent in Poor Things as well as All the Light We Cannot See his performance in Poor Things quickly made me forget them.
I’ve just watched this, and as a Brit, I can say that although Mark Ruffalo didn’t manage an English accent from any region I recognise, because he was playing such a pretentious narcissist, having an affected sounding accent fitted the character just fine.
I knew nothing about the movie going into it. I thought it was about financial struggles during the 1800's lmao.... and defiantly not your typical emma stone movie (easy A, the help, crazy stupid love etc) I was wrong. I watched the movie 3 times. First time I was like wtf is going on. Then I looked up what it was about and payed much more closer attention the 2nd and 3rd time. Great film and acting from everybody. And the cinematography was awesome. It has a hopping tho.
A 'neat' contemporary-dance (perchance) 'precedent' (video-short) --- to the nifty dance floor romp (in a posh Lisbon hotel) --- would be 'To Get Her' (by 'Jukstapoz Dance Co.') from a decade-or-so back; esp. mid-way thru; w/ the (dance) lead-role nicely 'reversed' (to an extent).
that "Noo" is how you would tell a child no to that question. I understand why Stone describes the movie that way but it's a baby girl in a woman's body being treated like a woman. A baby's brain in adult body like she says. She is not a Woman like Stone said but a baby girl in the body of a Woman who has not lived through the shame stage of child development. It's like a post-modern Aesop's Fable fantasy & Gothic horror fairy tale all at once that requires the viewer to distance that identity from the displays of debauchery in order to admire the deliberate designs of its satire of the sexes and social norms. I loved it because I am capable of the necessary suspension of disbelief but understand why those who did not did not.

From Superbad and and Easy A to La La Land.
It’s Emilia orthello and my grandmother use to call me you poor thing or I was pitiful it’s Buetiful
crazy
Refreshing to see how genuine Mark Ruffalo is opening up about his self doubts and insecurities in a job and even more comforting seeing Willem encouraging and supporting him.
Yes I thought that was both funny and very endearing 🤣🫶🏽
Mark Ruffalo's English accent in Poor Things is TERRIBLE.
OMG, Willem's a goofball! Who knew? I loved his jokes and laugh!
I love how in film, Willem Dafoe has played some of the most intense characters every created, but in every interview he is joy personified.
Well said!
He's so happy and sometimes just silly. I've never seen an interview with him before and I'm so delighted! Seriously!
It's easily her best work so far.
is there any chance that she will re-win the oscar award?
Between this film and The Curse, she really knocked it out of the park this past year!
She won! @@whzperfectionistandall7174
I wish someone would interview the composer. The music is such a huge part of this movie.
100%
Literally, something about it captures bella's internal state of body and mind so well
This composer has taken movie music to a new place. Like Bella herself, it is entirely unique.
It's child like and unfiltered exactly like the character - really is genius
If anyone is interested in some of his music. He has an album, Winterreise; it has an Electro punk, Ultra-Modern pop sound. I found it quite interesting. 😏✌️
Mark Ruffalo was perfect in this movie and I hope he knows that.
Ruffalo deserves and Oscar just for the way he says "ow" after being smacked. I laughed for 60 seconds and I couldn't stop. 60 seconds is way longer than you think.
"....aoeu."
and the scene when he say he's going to casino :))
I love it when his character goes, "What?" in response to Bella saying something a bit odd. 😅
It makes me laugh out loud as well. Gor a long time! Timing is perfect!
Him face planting on the staircase landing 15 seconds after he first appears on screen had me laughing so hard I had to pause the movie. And then rewind it a bunch of times 😂
Willem Dafoe is hands down of the greatest actors ever.
Absolutely. I can always trust he'll deliver a great performance no matter what he's in. It's crazy to me that he still hasn't won an Oscar yet.
He’s a legend you can tell he takes it seriously and discipline and rigor
Fortnite!
Emma Stone is so electric, she has this old Hollywood charm about her, she’s exceptional.
Ali Plumb is such an exceptional interviewer. His questions are about the film, low-stakes but still informative and interesting.
He is hands down the best interviewer in film
And really funny. He’s got a great rapport with the actors that allows them to open up much more than we usually see
Agree!
Why do I find it quite awkward? I feel like instead of asking questions he kept doing bits and the actors sometimes had to just fake laugh along
It felt like the questions were more to showcase his personality and thoughts on the film than what the actors’ experience was. There were “questions” were the only response you could give was along the lines of “Haha that’s so funny” or “wow you’re so right”

Mark Ruffalo's accent was everything! I LOVED it so much, he was fabulous in this film! Fantastic movie.
The costume designer did a beautiful job on this film! The pastels and sleeves! ❤
He was f#%&ing magnificent but I suspect Mark Ruffalo's English accent was just him doing an Austin Powers impression 🤣
Oh behave...
I was thinking more like Prince/King Charles myself 🙂
“…Eohh!”
The movie is so fantastical and cartoonishly bizarre that Mark Ruffalo's accent is the least unusual thing about his character.
And a dash of Peter Sellers
I love when Willem was complimenting Mark’s performance.
He never fails to make me appreciate him more.
mark ruffalo being so embarassed with his accent gotta be the cutest thing ever! always so humble!
It was such a strange movie. It felt like Frankenstein and a Wes Anderson film and it felt like a music video.
Hilarious.
I saw this film last night and it is wild. I haven't stopped thinking about it since it finished because it is pure insanity & hilarious
Bella is sickening.
I felt the same way. I’ve never walked out of a film filming like what the F is that there were several times during the film I was like what am I watching?
the same, i even watched the credits to the end, after thousands films watched i felt like i'm watching movie for the first time, strange and fascinating feeling
I saw it two days ago and I still feel obsessed with it.
Willem Dafoe is such a lovely person through and through. The whole cast seems like a dreamy lot who would be a ton of fun to hang out with and genuinely nice people.
It just won the Golden Globe and it is in top 10 best movies of many fans despite its weirdness. Really look forward to seeing soon.
DESPITE its weirdness…? BECAUSE OF its weirdness.
Emma is such a nice person and she seems very intelligent. She makes little sounds and has such a great sense of humor. She is perfect
“Filthy, disgusting, and worth your time.”
That’s a cool phrase to print on a t-shirt.
Sounds a lot like Vince Matsuka. Google him 😅
I totally appreciate the importance of Lily's nomination, but... Emma deserves the Oscar for this performance. It is so singular, so unlike anything we have ever seen before...and it is a once-in-a-lifetime role/performance. Let's award the PERFORMANCE, not the background of the actor playing the role.
Emma Stone is great in everything. So much talent.

It was not, but - yes! - his acting was great.

Sadly, Ramy did not have a proper English accent. He sounded more American than English.
@@blahblah4129who cares?…… he was brilliant…it’s was brilliant .
@@blahblah4129 Proper? I thought it was fine and didn't take away from his character. I agree, who cares?

WHAT A RIDE….quite literally!🤭 We saw it this past weekend & (IMO) it was strange, wonderfully acted & should win all the things for cinematography!
I've seen this masterpiece a few days ago and I'm going again in the weekend. It's one of those films that, if you like it, deserves several viewing. Stellar performances by all the actors, awesome cinematography, darkly funny.. wow!
Also worth seeing on the big screen for its luscious visuals!

Brilliant film, Emma and Mark were exceptional
Emma Stone is amazing. And absolutely next level as Bella Baxter!
I love the whole cast. They deserve all the Oscars.
Should get an Oscar for best film
Fantastic interviewer!!!! I loove when it's interviewers who truly knows (has studied?) film and the questions it pertains, and who gets as excited as the actors!!

You're thinking of monster high.

"That's really sweet, thank you"
i love emma stone

the best movie I saw since years !
I was most surprised by Mark Ruffalo's performance than any of the others, as miraculous as they were. Don't get me wrong, he's a fine actor, but this time he took things to an entirely different level.
This movie is masterpiece ❤
Both Ramy and Mark's English accents were off. They sounded more American than English.
Emma is marvelous in this film; what a talent!
And I'm okay with that. Are you?
9:48 Willem silently praying that Mark doesn’t give anything away like he’s famous for doing, and the smile of relief hehe
I always thought the font in these videos for the movies were on the wall behind. But they're edited in, check when everyone chats with their hands, those hands go behind the writing! Mindblown!

These two hyping each other up is everything ❤
Amazing cast 🎉

4:28 this part had me laughing so hard
Emma Stone is THE best
Mark Ruffalo's self doubt about his performance is so endearing. The accent wasnt great but his performance was brilliant regardless.
Loved the film - the casting, the story, the quirkiness and fun
Mark Ruffalo's accent was perfect!
This video dedicas all the elementos why Emma win her second Oscar!!!
Liked the movie. LOVED Emma's performance!
I saw this movie in France and the audience was laughing at the third act
Mark ruffalo just killed me - what a performance! “ I’m going to kick your f****ng dog to death!”

Based on these interviews, I now really want to see this!!!

Such a great movie

Formidable.
great film!
I need the blooper reel so bad
Squeaky bum time has been my favorite since Sir Alex said it after a Manchester game.
No not her own. She like the men is caught in culture. Bless her that her character breaks the mold.
I had heard of squeaky bum time! Thanks to following the Premiership!
Stone's acting is an Oscar winning acting!
The movie is unexpected irritated and interesting

ah you've elucidated so well what i was feeling about this film but couldn't quite coin with language cheers
I ❤ Emma
Loved it. Right up there with Forrest Gump and Pulp Fiction.
Bella is the most remarkable character I would love to be friends with.
“You budge up… and then it’s squeaky bum time”
- Emma Stone
Mark and Willem two wisconsinites who just can't get that accent down. 😂😂😂
i think emma stone owes a lot of thanks to acting supper coach nathan fiedler
Is that her acting coach or do you mean in general?
We’ll he did get good grades at Canada’s finest school.
Mark... Oscar Issacs couldn't have done it better despite your questionable, hilarious Britsh accent. Crazy but fabulous film with a great cast 👍 👌
This movie is mad
I love this film❤ At the end of the video i heard "Please press Bella button"😁
holy shit didnt realise mr mccandles was an american, his british accent was fucking trememdous
breathtakingly brave, emma the actor.
I ship Emma and this interviewer - great chemistry!
