Crendor, you forgot Azuremyst and Bloodmyst Isle, Eversong Woods, and the Ghostlands! We need an addendum video haha Best: Nagrand Worst: Hellfire Peninsula
Don't forget Isle of Quel'danas. inb4 someone says, "those zones are not outland". To that I say, those zones are on the Outland map files. Which is why you go through a loading screen when you zone into them on "foot" (including the boat trip for Azuremyst here). Therefore they should be judged in this tier list.
Gruul also allied with the original Alliance expedition (Khadgar and friends) to take down Deathwing which caused him to retreat through the Dark Portal back to Azeroth before it closed. These days we also know that Gruul and by extension the Orcs are remnants of a giant Titan construct as well. The zone has some crazy lore despite how meaningless it seemed in TBC's story.
Zangarmarsh is easily my favorite Outland zone. I just love the aestetic of the glowy, gloomy blue atmosphere and all the mushroom trees. Terokkar Forest would be my second favorite. I like Nagrand, but don't love it as much as most people seem to do. I think Hellfire Peninsula, Shadowmoon Valley and Blade's Edge Mountains all tie for my least favorite zones. I do like what they were *trying* to go for with Blade's Edge, as far as the visuals go, but they were so limited with the lack of texture quality back then. I feel like it would have looked a thousand times better had they created the zone now instead of back then. It could have been a Spires of Arak on steroids, like the fantastic concept art suggests.
I don't particularly care for Shadomoon valley or blade's edge (I especially find blade's edge layout boring). I'd like to hear why you find netherstorm to be more enjoyable than hellfire... Hellfire is a solid midtier for me.. large barrens-like layout, so lots of free roaming and exploration.. but suffers from some really annoying quests.. Netherstorm on the other hand is just as unappealing as shadomoon imo, but is even worse because it's a pain in the ass to navigate without flying.
I'm creeped out by mushrooms; I hated Zangarmarsh for that. The biggest thing I remember about Hellfire is looking away from the screen and everything being pink/green, like after leaving the gymnasium with the weird orange lighting.
@@MaMastoast I don't like Netherstorm either, but I dislike the other three more. While I remember feeling wowed the first time I stepped through the Dark Portal, (I think seeing the planets in the sky contributed mostly to that experience) that awe quickly turned sour once I actually had to quest there, which I didn't care for at all. Besides the questing, I just don't like the aesthetic of the barren orange zones, whether it's Durotar, The Badlands, Blasted Lands or Hellfire Peninsula.
Zangarmarsh is a big nostalgia hit for me. I used to go to that zone all the time to just hang out. My guild always knew to find me there. Really happy to see it and Nagrand ranked up high
I really loved Hellfire back in the day because it was such a ramp-up in difficulty and the feel reaver scared me. But now Hellfire was ruined for me because it's one of the only zones I went to in Retail before I out leveled all of the outlands. I've done it too much and in Retail it is incredibly easy.
I came just for the next blood bowl video, but I stayed for audible hot chocolate that is Crendor's voice. The man could read me bedtime stories anytime.
I'm not sure why because I usually go for a different vibe, but Auchindoun has to be my most favourite part of Outland. So for that reason alone my top pick is Terokkar Forest. It has a sense of history, significance, past glory, sadness and ruin. It also feels quite large for a subzone and it was really impressive to explore for the first time. Don't really care that much for the rest of Terokkar except for Skettis and the other high parts you can only reach when flying. Not bad by any means, just not really exciting. I do quite like Zangarmarsh. It's a nice change of pace after you come in from Hellfire Peninsula. Speaking of Hellfire Peninsula, it is.. eh.. a bit depressing? That kind of fits with the story and events of the zone. Add to that the aesthetics of dust and dirt and fire and demons and the path made of the bones of dead Draenei.. yeah.. no. But I do like the floating island. I'm not a fan of Netherstorm. Outside of the biodomes there's really not much I like there. The npc conversations at the inn are amusing, though. Shadowmoon Valley.. I _think_ I like it? Partially because of the Wildhammer presence and taking the fight to the demons and Illidan, I suppose. Nagrand.. I like but not as much as I expected to. I do like the traveling animals, the throne of the elements and the plateau above. Oshu'gun looks nice. I guess it feels like more of a Horde zone, really. But not bad by any means. Blade's Edge Mountains.. I kinda wish they'd done more with or maybe it is more of a Horde zone? I _want_ to like it more than I do. It has an interesting aesthetic and concept. It just feels very forgettable and unimportant.
I haven't played WoW since MOP, really fell off around the end of Cata, seeing you talk about these zones really makes me want to play again. Thanks for the nostalgia Crendor!
Incredible that my tier list is pretty similar, you put almost all the zones exactly where I would put them. Only Nagrand would be "Great" instead of "Amazing" (mainly because of these grindy kill quests which are a pain to do when you can't find someone to assist) and Terokkar "Meh" instead of "Great".
I know the list is completeley subjective, and Crendor's opinion is his, so i'm not judging his choice... but i just feel like Nagrand is one of the most boring zones in TBC. I mean, is freaking pretty, and i assume that's why he put it up so high, only for aesthetics... but quest wise? I swear sometimes i only went there for the ring of blood to get my weapon lol. There are some subzones that are cool tho, but you don't realy get to see those till later on.. im talking about the Twilight Ridge, which is a lvl 70 zone and you need flying to get there. In essence is not linked to the Nagrand quests but is part of a chain for the Netherwing. So yeah, Nagrand quest wise, ranks very very low for me, but aestheticaly is top notch, so if anything, it would rank in great, but not best.
Good list, best is Nagrand for sure and I agree with Shadowmoon as worst. I like the Zangarmarsh aesthetic but I hated questing there back in the day, maybe I'd appreciate it nowadays, haven't played since Classic launch lol
Least favorite, Gote starting zones, both. Favorite, Belf starting zones, esp Eversong. And I main alliance. Pre legion I use to port to plaguelands on my DK and just ride over to eversong and sit outside SM on a lilly pad, just chilling, listening to the music and looking at the trees. And magic trees. By far my most lvled in zone. I some times just make a new belf just to lvl in eversong and do all the quests for funzies.
warlock is still the only class I never got to max level, I'm more of a tank/healer player so I don't play the pure dps much as it is, but warlock especially just never clicked for me for whatever reason
I also have Nagrand as my favourite, however if we also count Isle of Quel'danas then that's a tie. Worst one is Blade's Edge, it's one of the most tedious zones to quest in because you have to travel back & forth all the time, and it's even worse if you don't have flying, it's a slog to get through. Also, I'm one of those who rate Shadowmoon Valley really high, mainly because of the Netherdrakes though.
I find netherstorm to be far worse blade's edge personally.. but I totally agree with the travelling back and forth thing... I suffers from a similar issues as other zones where it's basically a long path.. like stonetalon mountains or felwood.. It gets super tedious to run the same track again and again..
I generally agree with the rankings in the video... I may put netherstorm in trash.. I always found it super unappealing and only went there if I couldn't avoid it somehow.. Shadowmoon valley is also pretty unappealing, but atleast it's fairly open and has areas to explore.. netherstorm is shattered and annoying to navigate. Terrokar forest stands out to me because of the arakkoa area.. I love the arakkoa design and walking around this mystical village is super cool... I would still only put the zone in great though.. There are some areas of the zone that are pretty dead and boring imo.
Don't like Retail warlocks that much either, but up until Wrath Warlock was my absolute favourite. They took away so much flavour from this class with their ability and quest pruning, so much that warlocks are now mages that never left their teenage edge phase

Warlock specs felt both very similiar and very different at the same time. The 3 teir sets looked great, as well as other flavor items.
Favorite : Terrokar Forest Least favorite : Blade Edge Mountains Zangarmarsh could've been my favorite if it wasn't for the giant lake with the annoying fishes in it.
Zangermarsh is the worst zone in the expansion. After I played through it the first time on my alts I skipped it almost completely. I did enough to get into Nagrand or Terrokar.
It's a crime Azuremyst, Bloodmyst, Eversong, Ghostlands and Quel'Danas weren't included here!
I hope you continue doing these for all expansions!
Give us a part 2! =D

The dragons in Blade's Edge are actually impaled on those spikes by Gruul the Dragonkiller (yes that Gruul) :)

Azuremyst isle tho.
Where would you place the draenei/BE starting zones?
BE starting zone is above the "Amazing" tier.

I feel the judge may be a bit biased, seeing as his background is Nagrand.
the things I would do to live in nagrand irl
Had to grind for this view

Totally agree, except I'd put the Netherstorm one tier higher only because as a kid I got a huge aesthetic impact on the eco-domes and the ethereals.

Quel’danas is a big starting zone, but it’s so nice. Least favorite is probably Blade’s Edge.
Hellfire Peninsula is my favorite.
These videos are always the best 🤣
Zangarmarsh is an all time favourite for me
I get the problems with Blade's Edge, but I loved being hailed as king of the ogres.

Finally, a tier list that matters!
I generally agree with the rankings in the video... I may put netherstorm in trash.. I always found it super unappealing and only went there if I couldn't avoid it somehow.. I feel robbed that Crendor didn't have a "Trash" zone.

Well well Mr. Crendor, Draenei and Belf starting zones are part of Burning Crusade so what gives? Though I admit not tecnically Outland...
Isle of queldanas too
They are technically technically in Outlands. If you fly straight east past The black temple you end up at Azuremyst Isle.
Favorite : Terrokar Forest
Least favorite : Blade Edge Mountains
Zangarmarsh could've been my favorite if it wasn't for the giant lake with the annoying fishes in it.
No starter zones? :(
I would move Netherstorm up to Great, and Blade's Edge / Shadowmoon up to Good, imo all the TBC zones are good or better :)
Crendor, you forgot Isle of Quel'Danas :P.. gotta remake the video
Need Jesse to react to this.
Shit. I was about to sleep.
Nagrand all the way. I might as well be a talbuk roaming wild and free!
My list actually might just be the exact same.
I think your list is mostly the same except I'd prolly put shadowmoon in the good/great area and I'd lower the spore one to good/meh area.
4 me hellfire #1 and last place SMV (outland list)
but blood elf zone is #1 for TBC list
Bro there are literally 7 zones how did you get 13.5 minutes out of this
Zangramash fav ez pick. Worst, worst is hellfire.
Zangarmarsh and Nagrand all the way!
I would rate Blade's Edge in two different ways. If you can fly it's fine. If you can't it is hot garbage.
I dont like blades edge because all the spikes make my eyes bleed when I see them
Blades edge is straight trash if you level there without a flying mount.
zangarmarsh and nagrand def my favs too, and shadowmoon valley is trash.. hurts my eyes
You missed 5 zones 😅
I find Shadowmoon Valley seriously depressing. Obviosly, it's *meant* to be gloomy, but it really affects my mood. Ugh.
