Although I can't remember which players, but one being of one of the more developed nations with a strong navy, loosing a very strong series of naval battles with a few very strong flotilas with battleships & heavy battle cruisers etc, ..to the Tibetan Navy, which is not normal or usual at all, obviously, basically a player had managed to take half of Nationalist China, I think, so they had to research naval tech and then vessels, so by the point of the aquatic skirmishes, he barely had boats, let alone ships or battle-named vessels, I think he had 3 or 5 small ships and maybe one or two basic subs,. ..and yet, the underdog Tibetan player, through ballsy luck, some very very lucky & good rng battles results, and a level of complicity from the other grander developed (relativisticlu) Naval player, whom lost some very powerful fleets & ships, much to his own longafter the evolving situations of events honest sense of honourable homour would and did admit to... The Tibetan Navy !!

But more importantly, my 6 superships are named after the members of Babymetal, supported by battlecruisers named after their producer and assorted others from the Kami band. When global conquest is achieved, the world’s economy will be directed under my iron boot toward the construction of giant amphitheaters. Attendance will be mandatory, and loyalty and value to the state shall be judged by one’s knowledge of the lyrics and the volume of one’s applause. Call it a sort of… utopic dystopia. Kitsune!

I had a US playthrough where I allied with Finland and they, at the end, had bought enough battleships, cruisers and destroyers from me to have a fleet stronger than Soviet Union and Germany _combined_. And it just sat in port... Waiting...
Well, I do recall Tex's I think... Austro-Hungarian playthrough it was? Ended in an absolute massacare at the hands of the Ottomans as well due to a blob like this, thought it a funny coincidence and went on with my life. Last week however, my own Spain playthrough came to a grinding halt from a Dutch doomstack appearing in multiple strike missions.. Same ships moving from Indonisia to Suriname in a single turn even though they were stated to be spread out over all their holdings in groups of about 5 ships... Seeing it pop up here again really makes me sad that the devs won't be there to pick this up.. The problem seems to be that the game doenst seem to recognize how the fleets of minor nations are distributed over their ports, just generating Strike missions during Conquests with their full roster of ships, no matter where they are docked.
I like to think the Ottomans are attacking because they fear the power of Thai-Spanish-Cajun fusion food and are trying to contain it before it's too late.

Yeah, for some reason the devs decided to put things in the game purely to punish the player. I have had the "Ottoman Troll" event pop off almost a dozen times over all my playthroughs and it had never been a fair fight. So you either take the hit for not doing the missions it spams you with, or you just have to burn your entire navy trying to complete them. Just like how auto-resolving battles when you are winning a war will almost always hand piles of VPs to the enemy. I love this game to death, but it's things like this that absolutely kill it for me sometimes.
I live within 150 yards from a regularly active BNSF coal and mixed freight route. There's 2 (used to be 3 crossings) in our village about a 1/4 mile apart. Some engineers will just honk as needed others will lay on the horn through town and a Half mile outside of town. What bugs me is, there's a noise ordinance for semi Jake brakes not being used...but nothing for trains. There is talk about making us a quiet zone again though.
Yeah, this happened to me and broke my Austria/Hungary campaign. I got a message that we could assault Egypt, so I send a full fleet down to Alexandria and promptly run into something like 200 Ottoman ships much like you did. It was madness.
Spain survives as a power far longer than it should have... then an Ascendant Ottoman Empire suddenly *appears* and starts wrecking shit. Butteryfly's flap.
I have found that the minor powers somehow teleport their ENTIRE navy to any engagements that is exclusively between them and a major power. It is terrible to fight mid-game minors with enough port capacity to house insane numbers, because they all rain on your head.
I have found, in almost every situation while driving, that I have important things to do with my hands that aren't hitting the horn any time I might use the horn. I have to be fully stopped or sliding on ice out of control before using the horn is worth it.
Dude i freaking understand the train horn. There's train tracks next to my building and this one freaking dude i swear to god he gets off blowing out people is ear drums. He just keeps honking and holding it over and over. Like dude wtf we know you are there.

Minor nations just don't have any cap or upkeep or anything on their navy like major powers. So they just keep buying ships from their allies and it accumulates. And then when you invade them, they just teleport their entire navy on you and usually they're gonna have more ships.
I'm finally getting into the 1900's as Spain. I survived my war with the US taking parts of Alaska with Canada owning the rest. Germany has the west coast, France owns Panama, Mexico took Texas back and Britain has their colonies back. The US was eliminated in 1902 for losing all their ports. Japan is really gunning for me now and I have to go to war with them soon because China has already removed their navy for me. I have hope that I can get into dreadnoughts as Spain for the first time.

I picked this game up after watching all of your let's plays and I love it! I haven't tried the campaign yet, just going through the naval academy missions. Though I've started following a pattern... when all else fails, throw all the picric acid know to man! All the guns, I can fit spitting as much HE doom as possible! Praise be to Zorg! (FYI did you know picric acid is still used in certain medical tests!?)

Hallo Tex, nice video. The issue with the ottomans or any of the smaller nations ist a rather new one, with the later updates those became more active. Bevor they barely did anything with the ships sold to them, but now they really defend themselves with their collected armadas. But its still more mass then quality. I got my behind served me by argentina a short while ago, with the game goning similar then yours. Also of note: If your at war with any big nation,, the smaller nations alligned with that one become available targets for naval invasions - that how i got into a fight with argentinia. they were allied with usa and so i tried to take them, and got served. Halleluja
At this rate Tex is going to take Spain to full global power through tiptoe tactics. Ouch battle of Okinawa in 1912... that's brutal. Also the British invading Canada doesn't make sense since it's already a dominion of the empire.

Minor nations just don't have any cap or upkeep or anything on their navy like major powers. So they just keep buying ships from their allies and it accumulates. And then when you invade them, they just teleport their entire navy on you and usually they're gonna have more ships.
If Italy sold them that navy, then you should probably keep Italy very very happy
I'm finally getting into the 1900's as Spain. I survived my war with the US taking parts of Alaska with Canada owning the rest. Germany has the west coast, France owns Panama, Mexico took Texas back and Britain has their colonies back. The US was eliminated in 1902 for losing all their ports. Japan is really gunning for me now and I have to go to war with them soon because China has already removed their navy for me. I have hope that I can get into dreadnoughts as Spain for the first time.

I picked this game up after watching all of your let's plays and I love it! I haven't tried the campaign yet, just going through the naval academy missions. Though I've started following a pattern... when all else fails, throw all the picric acid know to man! All the guns, I can fit spitting as much HE doom as possible! Praise be to Zorg! (FYI did you know picric acid is still used in certain medical tests!?)

Hallo Tex, nice video. The issue with the ottomans or any of the smaller nations ist a rather new one, with the later updates those became more active. Bevor they barely did anything with the ships sold to them, but now they really defend themselves with their collected armadas. But its still more mass then quality. I got my behind served me by argentina a short while ago, with the game goning similar then yours. Also of note: If your at war with any big nation,, the smaller nations alligned with that one become available targets for naval invasions - that how i got into a fight with argentinia. they were allied with usa and so i tried to take them, and got served.
