I will watch very closely, as I also have an LG300 without the power supply and modulator. I have been on the look out for a UM3, but I was also thinking of a solid state modulator as I have a selection of large and very large audio transformers that were used on the old Rediffusion audio networks. I have wondered about trying a toroidal transformer for the modulator, perhaps experimenting with the concept with something smaller than the LG300 first. Unfortunately the LG300 is part of a very long list of projects that I am very slowly working through. Best of luck with it. Kevin GW0PUH
I have used series gate modulation which works well, the carrier is reduced to a lower output by means of a pot but on modulation peaks full output power It give 95% modulation
If you wanna be a man…. A real man…. Plug a key in it! A straight key not one of those side wacky pervert keys!! 😂😂😂😂. Looks like the ship’s transmitters I used to see. Thanks for sharing and giving it new life. 73 de VK2AOE
Fascinating! Thanks for that! I look forward to Part 2!
I'm looking forward to seeing the progress.
That’s a little boy’s transmitter. A man’s transmitter is what they installed at 405 line transmitter sites like Holme Moss!

Fascinating, heard a lot about Labgear on various "old boys' nets" but not seen much of it, good luck!

A great video Justin, I will follow with interest. John GW4SRE.
Great video! Love the transmitter! Very vintage. Also, like the blue plaid jacket/shirt. Where can I get one? (Nice workshop!)

You could just plug a morse key in, much simpler !!
I will be doing that also don’t worry!!!
