Wow, every child deserves to have a family to call their own. That's why I'm adopting one or two older boys as a single dad and a third that's younger. I'm lucky enough that I work from hom and have a great support system. I just want to get a couple of older boys a chance at having a family with a real home, a dog and a dad to call their own.
If we could only get every social service worker to take a real close look at Baily's face around 3:37. She had just related being told by the adoption agency at 15 1/2 that "I was too old to be adopted and they said no one would want me". Go back and listen to her retell what "officials" supposedly working on her behalf told her, then pause the video and look at the expression on her face.Just that one quick image of her face reliving that painful moment is incredibly gut wrenching. Add to the "must see list "politicians responsible for funding child service agencies. Reducing social service budgets without realizing the human cost of those cuts to programs that help kids like Baily is cruel. AdptUS Kids you are doing an incredible job of bringing the plight of these kids to the world, thanks for all you do.

Since the system seems to make it quite difficult to provide a home or adopt 18 yr olds or aging out young adults, it would be so helpful if they assisted the young adult to be emancipated and provide a means of listing those who are aging out and still want to be adopted. I think the young adult and the person who has a home or employment opportunity available should be able to meet and discuss without home visits, rules about cross state adoptions, etc. I see that many aging out young adults are being kept from good adoptive homes just because of rules. Does anyone know of a database where aging out young adults who want guidance or adoption can place their info and those providing homes, employment, etc could place their info for the aging out as a match up. Keep in mind all privacy, safety, etc.

1:18..."I wanted to go out & do things" AKA she was running wild! I won't foster because these kids bring a boatload of emotional problems with them. Also, they grow up to be adults & can go back & harm their foster parents. It's dangerous to be a foster parent.
for real . I don’t know- she visits once a week and for holidays, doesn’t sound dangerous. I can understand if fostering isn’t for you, but worrying that they will grow up to come back and harm you is a little dramatic.

how sad that her foster mom has been unofficially adopted by this wonderful young woman, but not legally adopted by the foster mom :(
