Just stopped off at the dinosaurs in Cabazon for the first time ever. The EAT sign still stands. The former diner is now an empty lot. Glad you guys caught this before demolition!

How can this somewhat iconic/famous location not be remodeled highlighting the movie connection? Hell I would go in and order the "Large Marge" or the "Pee-Wee Platter."
are you one of those people who stopped watching Paul after he got caught "waxing the carrot"...I don't think that he should be dumped on for doing what comes naturally to all of us in a place where it is considered normal...he only got lumped on because of who he is...not like he was spanking it in a day care center...I'm just global that I never got busted with some of my more adventurous lady friends...parks,cemeteries, movies, even once in a crowded restaurant...soooo...Is it cool or not...to do something sexual in a semi-public place?
Another one of those places, that looks like it shut down in the middle of a shift. Frozen forever in time with grease in the fryers, and the floor half swept. Kind of sad. It looks like a good location. You'd think somebody would be able to make money with it.
Due to the nature of existence it's inevitable, but it's always painful when something fades away before we do. Especially when it's landmark places and things you'd expect to last beyond our lifetimes.
So are you.....May the Shwartz be With You (because Brian has a "Spaceballs" Shirt, on his...um...self.) I'm eroding away, also. It is heartburning to know, that, someday, we all will be Fossil Fuel and used for Deep Frying future Families favorite Fried Fare, at a reasonable price, hopefully.
I find these videos very fascinating and entertaining to watch. I am amazed how many of these abandoned places you have checked out are almost apocalyptic that things are just laying around as if people just suddenly disappeared in the middle of doing something. Amazing how much stuff gets left behind when these places close up, even small things like the photo album that seems like it would be valuable to the owner if nothing else.
+WaybackTECH I watched a few of these 'abandoned places' videos and I always wondered about that. I can only think it was a legal thing and the place was ordered closed suddenly. You'd think some auction company or something would come in and at least try to salvage and sell some of the equipment and stuff.
+WaybackTECH Well that particular restaurant the employees on the last day of operation just dropped tools turned off the equipment and left at closing time. +DyenamicFilms It wasn't ordered closed suddenly by anyone, the owner died and his family didn't want to continue it so they ran it till it was out of supplies and just closed it.

The Wheel Inn exterior was also one of the filming locations for the 1985 music video 'Everybody Wants To Rule The Word' by Tears For Fears. Curt Smith is seen driving an old Austin-Healey around various southern California locations in and around 29 Palms, Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, Desert Hot Springs, Indio, Palm Springs, Banning, Cabazon, Salton Sea (not in that particular order) traveling on the I-10 and 60 Freeways etc. At about 1.35 in the video Smith pulls into the Wheel Inn parking lot and exits the vehicle then goes up to the front entrance area and uses one of the phone booths located there (I've actually used one of them at one time or another in my travels before cell phones!) At one point during his call he turns around in the booth and looks out back in the direction he'd came from as if to check on the car - the camera shot is low showing his face as he talks to his party and up behind him outside the booth one can see the towering Wheel Inn sign structure - Then he's shown driving thru the parking lot again this time with the famous dinosaurs in the backdrop as he cruises singing along with Everybody Wants To Rule The World. He's driving east on the 10 freeway presumably heading towards Blythe. Lots of great scenery from the area in the video: th-cam.com/video/3OFOZQ6pMGo/w-d-xo.html

Too bad it's in such bad shape. You or another movie enthusiast should reopen it. It would take a lot of time and money but it would be awesome. Glad to see this channel moving again
How strong was the urge to "liberate" one of the postcards or bumper stickers from that spinning rack? Or the cabazon dinosaur pages? I dint think the owners would mind if you kept some souvineers. I know I would have.
Joe Dissolvo I'm sure they had to have taken something. probably don't mention it on camera
YES!!! I have wanted you to do this ever since you showed it in the Daily Woo! I totally would have taken some treasures from that place! Great video
"everybody's gotta big butt"
Let's talk about your big butt.
Love to wind down at night with a new filming location video, excellent work as always Adam.
Too bad it's in such bad shape. You or another movie enthusiast should reopen it. It would take a lot of time and money but it would be awesome. I'm sure Paul Reubans would contribute something, and a bunch of fans would too. It could be renamed the Adventure Cafe in reference to the movie, (or possibly also a certain owner who likes to go on adventures, if Adam wants to get in on a new one in being a part of the restaurant)
I am amazed that you can find these places the research that you have to do must be tremendous , its always a pleasure watching your video's keep them coming , thank you for the time and effort you do for us viewers . sorry if im misspelling some words I am french from Quebec Canada. :)
What would be awesome is if paul rubins saw this video and bought it and saved it!
Watching as much as your videos tonight before I go to bed. You have a purpose on the earth and your using it. You give me motivation in daily things as simple as just being kind to someone. Keep doing what you love and bringing joy to peoples life. Not going to lie a lot of days at work I turn u on and put my headphones on and listen to you it makes for positive vibes and makes me laugh cause your sayings or falling off bikes😂 to shorten this up I’ll just say .. thanks for everything Adam.
You're doing God's work.
+Jared Carlson thanks Jared
thank you so much for getting his footage on video because we just went to the Dino's as we headed to Cali for vacation. the Large Marge diner has finally been bulldozed. I got video evidence for you. I was saddened because I wanted to vlog it and didn't get to because it is now gone. the sign is still there but no more Large Marge diner. thank you Adam and RIP Large Marge
Adam, did you see the new Pee Wee movie yet?
+sprdvx not yet
This was awesome!! I wish you could go into the Dinosaurs too. Or was that just a part in the movie?
why did it close?
The ghost of Large Marge?
It would be super awesome if some one with a celebrity status were to purchase that location and reopen it. I love PeeWee's Big Adventure. It's for sure one of my go to movies if I want to reminisce my childhood memories.
anyone else see the toxic wast sign
