i feel bad t hinking u do all this work for this little attentin, this is so much work put into a video, thank you for all, great, great review, top notch
The incredible voice of the reviewer made this product even more appealing to buy. Really, you've an amazing voice. I'm going to have one right after this.
Hi Norf! I really love your voice. It sounds very rich, calming, and extremely nice to listen to. :-) I am really surprised when you mention the name of the microphone because I am using the standard version~!! I haven't used any other brand before (first time getting a proper mic for online streaming and conferences) but this Thronmax Mdrill One is serving me well. A really sensitive piece that picked up literally every sound. I can hear people talking from the room upstairs~! In the end, I have to apply some noise filter to get rid of all the extra sound. 😅 Thank you, Norf~! Looking forward to your next video. :-) oh! Did I mention that I love your voice? :-D
Thankyou, thankyou! 😁🙏🏾 I'm pleased it's working well for you for conf calls and livestreaming! Thankyou too, for the very kind compliments about my voice!! Thankyou! You may also like this one.... >>>th-cam.com/video/mk5gNMrrPPg/w-d-xo.html
Very honest review. I bought this mic a few months ago for the equivalent of 100 USD as part of the pro kit when I didn't know any better. It's very soft but captures everything as a condensor would, it has an annoying noise floor (Audacity can fix that though) and there's definitely crackle when you turn the gain up too high. I saw it a few weeks ago online here for 10 USD though I'm sure this was a pricing error as a whole bunch of Mdrill One products had their prices slashed by the same fixed amount so I couldn't pass up the offer but hate to think this line of Mdrill products sucked so badly... I would say 10 USD is the perfect price. Don't bother paying extra for 'Pro', this is a USB microphone not a Shure SM7b running through a Go-XLR. Anything more than 10 USD for this and you're wasting your money. Rather go for a FiFine, and remember that all those effects you see in high end XLR mics are probably just processing. My unwashed barbarian ears couldn't tell the difference anyway. You can really do anything with sound effects and good EQ. There are even software mixers such as VoiceMeeter you can do realtime processing with.
Thankyou, thankyou for the comments, Marc! 🙏🏾😁 I have also experienced that high noise floor with this mic too, hence my goto is the AT2020USB, albeit a vintage one. I must admit, the Fifine K678 I reviewed in another video, I do enjoy. If I had the choice between the Mdrill and the Fifine, the K678 is definitely the better bang for buck!
It depends on what you're looking for. Both mics are good USB mics, no question. If you want lights and a mic that is good, the Thronmaxx is the one. However, if you're looking for capturing better audio, I'd say the Fifine. If you're on a budget, perhaps look at the Fifine Ampligame A8. I will be doing a review on that mic soon! Please let me know which one you go for.
@@TrueNorf Nice, sorry for really late reply, You already review the A8? My choice now is, K678, K658, or the A8 but it's not available yet on my country. You have review about K658?, thanks in advance.
@@soversatile No worries about the reply! It's good to hear from you. I have not review any other Fifine mic, however as I say I have A8 to put through its paces. Looking at the K658, that could be a good bet for you if you're gaming. I know the K678 is a good quality condenser mic with a premium finish.
Great question! On paper and from doing some research online, the MDrill One Pro as the sampling rate is higher. I hasten to add, I've not tested the Boya PM700 so cannot say for sure in my experience.
I really appreciate your honesty with this review :)
You're most welcome! 🙏🏾😁

Thankyou for stopping by! I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Which sound did you prefer after watching the video?
@@TrueNorf I need a microphone for voice over, so I try to choose the fifine k678.
is this the right choice?

Do you have the issue where pressing the mute button brings up spotlight search and then the Mac doesn't go to sleep?
Hey William! I found the spotlight issue. That's at the end of the video. I did not know about the Mac Sleep issue. Great catch! 👍🏾
On me
Thronmax: $73
K678: $60

Audio technica is the best i think.. 😅
