This might be a strange one but I stopped watching as many haul videos. I just started noticing I was buying more and more and when I stopped watching that type of content I reduced my shopping
I saw a video someone said something like: you were assigned a person at birth, and you have to take care of that person, what would you do, how would you speak to them, about them, for them. You were assigned yourself. Do a good job taking care of this person
I stopped watching a lot of TV in the last 5 months and started reading again and it’s been wonderful and a great way to reduce stress. I also bought an espresso maker and have been making my own coffee at home and I’m getting pretty good at it because all of my friends want a cup of coffee from me. ❤
A few years ago after a long illness I stopped decorating for Christmas, Easter, Halloween etc. my life is so much simpler now, I keep the holidays in my heart as I'm a Christian, but without all the fuss and faff, and it saves so much money! You look fabulous by the way❤😊
I've really simplified my decorating as well! I realized that taking time to decorate a lot and then having to dedicate time to put it all away was just getting super stressful on top of things that have to be done in daily life.
Me too- less is best plus my teenage girls are happier with less decor. It was overload and now I just put a few things out. Way less stressful and don’t feel like I have to go out and buy new decor every year!
In my 20s one of the best decisions I made was deciding to do away with negative self talk. I asked myself if I would feel ok if someone said about my best friend what I said to myself if I make a mistake, etc. I decided then that I would talk to myself the way I would to that best friend and give myself a break. I used to be very self critical and perfectionistic. It has probably saved me from experiencing depression. Another thing that helped was limiting my news watching and newspapers reading once I noticed my mood was better when I didn’t. Let’s face it most of the news is negative. The images and information that you take in are important. Protect your mental health.
Been watching you for 10 years ever since the apartment days and you by far are one of the only people who has never been a doubt in my mind about following I love your content I love your honesty, your transparency, and the woman that you are and continue to become. I will always follow you, and I am so thankful that for the past decade, gods gotten to share you with us and be a blessing to us moms out here you didn’t even know. Have so much love for you Brit, thank you for being such an amazing influence ❤
I have a poodle mix and started grooming her at home. She needs a haircut every 4-6 weeks and it costs about 100$ each time. So I watched some TH-cam tutorials and bought some clippers and do it at home. It’s also so much less stress for my dog!
I try to remove an item when I bring an item in.And I also go through my clothes seasonally, if they start to look ragged, even though I LOVE the item, it goes out the door
The first thing I thought of on this video, esp. when you mentioned doing car detailing at home and got your kids involved, now is a great time to start teaching them about money, tell your son why you're doing the detailing at home, and that leaves more money to do fun things with him and his sister, great teaching moment.
If u live near a SAFEWAY or Albertsons try Cafe Casero instant coffee. It does Not taste like instant. It is intensely dark like expresso. For $7 u can't go wrong.
One little tip I want to share with you. Castor oil 😁 It's not called natures botox for no reason. It's fantastic 😅 I use it every night. You can mix it with your night cream, or just blend a little Castor oil with coconut oil. It will take a little while to get suched up by your skin, but it's worth it. I've listened to a doctor on TH-cam, who has a skincare clinic, but he also said spending money on botox is not necessary. And Castor oil also have a lot of healthy benefits. It can kill inflammation +++++ lots of other illnesses. I can send you a few links if you want 😊 Take care. Bighug from Sweden 😊😊
God's Oil! It's Amazing! I use it with a pad on my tummy at night and it has helped reduce my gutt issues. I started using it on my face and neck at night rubbing over my eyes and can see a huge difference. f I Could Bathe in Castor Oil I Would! 😂
I trim and tone my hair at home- and cut the frequency of my salon visits in half!! My husband and I also compromised - so we do all of our own yardwork and landscaping but we pay for a house cleaner for the interior of our home. This kind of evened out cost-wise but saved us from many disgruntled fights about chores! I call that a win!
I have started eating at home before going out with friends or to a nice dinner. That sounds silly but unless it’s something I really WANT to go all out on, I eat a snack or something light before I leave the house so I’m less inclined to order more food while I’m out.
That's amazing. I actually feel good for you, not only for financial reasons but the fact that you are doing things by yourself. It brings back the value of life of being resourceful, smart and independent instead of always calling or using services like if we were lazy, dumb or don't know how to do things by ourselves. Just coffee, it's a big step up. Do you know how much coffee are sold everyday from fast food like Mcdonald, Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks just because we don't make it on our own? I don't know but I am sure it's millions everyday just for coffee.
Some people may not believe this but I have never used a food delivery app. I think 5 years ago we had a pizza delivered while we were moving. One night we were talking about food delivery and that we don't even know how much it costs so I did a "mock order" for Chipotle. OMG!! No freaking way! The only time I could see justifying that would be if we were both sick in bed or house-bound for some reason or couldn't drive or walk.
Brittany, you're always stunning. I've been watching since before Carter was born, and I just love seeing you grow as a person. Always sending you positive vibes ❤❤
I quit the nail salon about 2 years ago. I’m learning how to wax myself now! I’ve also quit coffee both at home and out and now only do tea - specifically the Bigelow vanilla chai and recently discover the toasted coconut almond bark SO GOOD
One thing I’ve noticed is that if you wear your normal nails, nobody notices. If you have on nice nails, they notice. And if you have tacky-outgrown nails, they notice that too. So I just go bare.
Yep, everyone comments how nice and healthy my nails are, coz all I do is use a 4-in-1 file and buffing block on them every few days 😂 I also push back my cuticles and moisturise over night (with either "The Body Shop" brand hemp hand protector or their almond oil hand&nail cream) like once per week.
Cut the cable cord 3 years ago. Tools a few months to adjust to it but now I only pay for Netflix. There are many free ways to watch shows and I utilize TH-cam free so much. Also learned to wax my brows and my daughter’s brows, learned to cook many things, through TH-cam cutting down dining expenses
I love this video, save us money and I will never stop watching you ❤❤❤ I also stopped getting my nails done, sitting in the salon for an hour while my nail tech ignores me and speaks in a different language to her coworker is rude and unfortunately in the 2 cities I’ve lived in for the last 15 the experience is not unique to one or two spas so no more of that and I also am cooking 90% of my meals now skip the dish door dash etc was draining my bank and most of the time the food was less than desirable. Keep up the good work Britney ❤❤
Being broke i never had any of these😅. But ive always cut my kiddos hair, now i also cut my own. Found a fantastic tutorial on youtube. Saves me $70 a year. Not alot but ill take it! ❤
I hear ya! I cut my kids' hair and my husband's hair. I should learn to cut my own because it's been 2 years since I got a haircut 😬. I do trim my own bangs, but not the ends of the rest.
I post on my content and get off social media after. I check my comments once a day. Or I ask myself what would the successful/ healthiest version of myself be doing. Definitely starting speaking to myself better and kinder. Love your content ❤
Good for you Brittany. I am a huge proponent of reading and I know for sure that reading improves your vocabulary and your spelling. I’m retired and I do have several streaming services. I live in a rural area about 1 hour from a bigger shopping area, so I do watch a lot of movies etc. The most recent thing, that I gave up was monthly salon trips. I was in the hospital for a lengthy stay and discovered as my hair was growing in, it was a very pretty white, so now instead of $60 a month it’s an occasional trim ( so inexpensive in Upstate NY but it’s all relative). Baby steps, now I do need to take a good look at my streaming services and my automatic monthly subscriptions. Thank you for the ideas.
Hi, Brittany, I’m glad to see your development over the years. I’m not only a big bookworm 📚🐛 since I can read, I’m a drawer and painter, too, especially after retirement, and believe me: we painters LOVE wrinkles! They are telling stories… it’s more difficult to draw a baby, because, there are no lines and wrinkles. At the age of almost 70 I even use make up very rarely, I prefer to see my face like it is. Your boys will have a big bag of nice remembrance about DOING things together. We can talk to our children all day about how to live and behave, they are learning more from watching us, seeing our choices. I’d like to see your healthy cooking and to hear about impressing or entertaining books, also for children. Love from Germany, Monika❣
I love this video. Very relevant. I quit getting deep conditioning treatments at hair salons because they were charging me like $30-$50 and I just do at home. I also would go and get the blow dry bar once a week sometimes I stopped doing that. I don’t go out as often for dinner but when I do, it’s at a more special place and I always get my facial every month.
I’m excited for you! I think you’re naturally beautiful and never needed all that stuff anyway. You’re a good mom and a good person. Love you as you are.
I have been watching you for years and this is one of my favourite videos, Not only are all the tips practical and achievable but this is the happiest I've seen you in so long, Thanks .
Definitely quit Starbucks! Also, even though I don't like super sweet coffee, I was still drinking 7g of sugar for a grande! Im also down 60 pounds by making small changes like this. So it's a win win!
Yikes! Their drinks are 95% sugar and 5% coffee Invest in an Espresso or coffee machine and get your favorite milks and healthy sweeteners you will never go back! Plus you will be getting the real thing
One thing I changed in the last year & a half is going to my local grocery store & Target once a week. I go to Costco & Sam’s once a month and only visit my local Wegmans maybe once or twice a month. I’ll definitely say I’m saving a lot more money (& time) on food and household items.
Yes! I like to buy big bags of carrots, peppers, mushrooms, courgettes (zucchini) etc. Then I'll peel and chop them up, and portion them into freezer tubs, ready to pop into my slow cooker for ragu/taco soup/chilli etc. when I need them. It saves my veggies from just wilting/rotting and going to waste in the fridge 🤭 ... Frozen veggies are so much simpler and more eco-friendly 💗 I also batch-cook, so that I have a couple of leftover portions I can freeze, and have "homemade ready meals" as I call them. This trick has saved me countless times when I don't have the time or energy to cook that night, or if everyone wants different meals! Not to mention when Covid hit us a few years ago and we had to isolate. Keeping a stocked freezer (with a dozen of my meals) is so important to me, to provide for my family, come what may.
I have dumbed down my skincare routine. I use one serum and moisturizer with an SPF, none of this 10 step skin care, and my skin looks better than it has in years. Simplify that ish.
Doing a lot of DIY home projects myself such as painting, fixing appliances, window washing, etc. Thanks to TH-cam, it’s saved so much money and most of the time, it’s very easy to do!
I liked the car cleaning one here in UK people always queuing for car wash, costs nothing a bucket of water and some cleaning products, easy way to save money.
We only use a basic carwash since moving to our current apartment... Not so easy to do when you live 3 floors up and have to park down the street 😅 Before that - when we had a ground floor place with a driveway - I would run the vacuum's cord out the window, and run buckets of water etc. No worries!
I did something similar a few months ago and it is liberating! I am also going through a divorce and let's just say my soon to be ex is sending text's that he shouldn't especially at night time robbing my sleep. So I turned off all notifications. I didn't have social media notifications for years now. But I also turned off text messages. I will check my messages when I have time to check my phone. Ppl know and they know to call if something is urgent. I'm a college student and when I'm doing school I need to focus. Emotional texts is the least I need or a buzzing phone!
You're always an inspiration to me. Even when you're going through it, you're a class act. You definitely pass the vibe check. I feel motivated and hopeful when I watch your content. ❤
Another reason NOT to do food deliveries . . . A few wks back, I heard on the news that "X" number of food delivery people admit to "sampling" their deliveries. Some carry staplers in their vehicles to reclose things. Even had a person on a camera in a parking lot slurping thru a deliver and resealing!! UGH
Excellent List. There are a bunch of things that you mentioned that I already do like: car washing, home made cappuccinos, cooking at home, etc. However, I got some new ideas like silicone scar tape and Japanese tape. I will try them. Thanks for sharing.
South African here. We said no to a television, since 2002. No to beauty salons, no to cosmetic procedures. No to home delivered foods. No to entertaining. Yes to shopping for fresh, seasonal food at a wholesaler. Yes to gas hob cooking. Yes to solar powered water heating. Yes to two unfashionable small cars. Yes to home hair styling. Just shaved a bit of a gap in eyebrow. Mistakes happen. Glasses cover it up while I wait for castor oil to proliferate that brow!😂😂😅😅
I dye my hair once a month for years by myself and it looks great 🙂 I also do my own gel nails with a UV lamp. We have a home gym, so no gym subscription for me. We cook at home, so takeaways are a rare occasion. 🎉
I love these kinds of videos! Feels like The OG Brittany! Has anyone told you that you remind them of Tonya Leigh? She’s a mindset coach who runs SOSI (School of Self Image). Anyhow, she uses a similar mantra to what you mentioned that has changed my life! Every day I look at a sticky note I have in my planner that says, “I am not a woman who beats herself up for things [I did or said in the past].” ❤
Brittany, you are always so inspiring and amazing. I started watching your vdos before my first pregnancy just to get to see some quality content on youtube. It was 8 yrs back and iam still in love with all your contents. Iam so happy to be with your life journey through this virtual world. I always admire you❤ through these yrs the way you have become this beautiful human being. So inspiring and encouraging. Stay happy n blessed dea. Looking forward to see more n more ❤❤❤
With TH-cam school, my husband and I save SO MUCH money On doing our own hair cuts and he dyes my hair! There are SO MANY tutorials! And my kids actually prefer me to cut their hair and I find it sweet ❤ 😊 and my husband did a bomb job on my hair color!
I wish I could say I quit something to save money, but we are very frugal and pragmatic, so there is not anything, for now, that can be cut, unless it is a weekend outing at a restaurant. Not for the food, but getting out and a change of scene as I am home all day. Glad that u are doing well.
Omgggg, one Saturday I decided to walk to Little Italy Farmers Market and walked by your mom's spa shop. I thought it has the same last name as you. That's amazing.
Great episode… glad you are doing things to make you happy… Children with a happy Mom… have a happier life…not that a Mom never has problems or issues but how you handle them is a lesson for them too! Great job!!!
I stopped having my brows waxed! I just clean them up as needed. We eat more at home, only have Disvovery+ streaming $4.99/month and all my shows are on it. We do what we can ourselves but some things are just worth it like regular facials, chiropractor, acupuncture, hilights to keep my grays at bay 😂. No manis just pedis. Don't drink so that saves a lot of $. Don't go to concerts, broadway shows, casinos, etc.
With the responding to messages, I found it helps me to type whatever I would want to say.. then i run it through Chat GPT and tell it to make it nicer or more whatever the outcome I need it to have
We haven't eaten out in restaurants, or eaten fast food, or ordered take out, or had delivery, or any food like that--for probably about 15 years now. I have no idea how much money that saves, but I think it could be a lot.
✨❤️I’ve stopped IG, never did ticktock, and unsubscribed from so many YTers…❤️but love your channel and content‼️ So please don’t assume we see your IG stories…would love to see WIEIAD and cooking content ❤
I also do not have cable nor streaming services. I have saved thousands or dollars over the years. I realize I am fortunate to live in an area where I can get free commercial TV through an antenna. Like you, I subscribe to TH-cam premium, and have found it's well worth the money.
I would love a video on cat care and what you use and would never use and why. I’m in love with my two cats as well and I love and respect you and your content
Please don't use face tape. Like you said the affect is only temporary and dermatologists don't recommend it stating that it can increase skin laxity, accelarate signs of aging, damage the skin barrier, and possibly cause irritation or dryness. This temporary fix could cause long term damage.
Is it true that in the US when you have something delivered to your house, like a takeaway, (meal) you tip the driver? We don’t usually do that in the UK. I could never give up social media. I’m single & live alone & often the only contact I have with other people is on Facebook etc. Brittany, your skin & hair always looks lovely.
I try to take One-way Non-stop travel. Saves me on Airport Lounge and just exhausting layovers. Sometimes I ask a responsible friend to drive me to airport -would rather pay themz+ tip than just a stranger. I go to Costco and get Nature Protein Bars and socks for the homeless-cheaper than $.
To save money for me, for nails I still go to the salon, cut, clean and buff. No more chemical color. No coffee machine just paper so no need to wash the coffee machine, no dish washer just hand wash 😅, but clothing still must have washing machine. And I love how you train your kids. They are both great and beautiful.
Looking back to my past i cant believe i used to buy so many clothes all the time and i barely wore most. Now i buy my clothes in secondhand stores to reduce clothing waste, and i keep wearing/repairing them until theyre beyond saving before i buy a new one. It makes me SO much happier and picking an outfit was never easier. Also i heard fillers never really go away, they just migrate to different areas of people's face so please really think it through before deciding to get fillers. Also fillers are not meant for young people, no matter what they keep pushing in social media.

Same!
Same! Watching more decluttering videos instead! Overconsumption is so real!
Yes!!! Influencers are friendly salespeople 🤣 influencing non-essential purchasing … it’s their business!
It’s ALL commercials.
I've been watching more educational videos. & I've saved SO MUCH MONEY!!! 😉

I also bought an espresso maker and have been making my own coffee at home and I’m getting pretty good at it because all of my friends want a cup of coffee from me. ❤

Yes we need to do the same. Which videos did you find to be the best?
I would LOVE to see a cooking series on here!!! I'm always looking for new, tasty and healthy recipes.
Yes! Low carb!
I have been going through an entire house declutter this year, and I will NEVER go back to the frivolous spending!!
Me either😮
I am working on that.
I try to remove an item when I bring an item in.And I also go through my clothes seasonally, if they start to look ragged, even though I LOVE the item, it goes out the door

And they can earn money if they start a business doing car detailing.
You should do a video about your coffee machine and how you make your coffee. I really want to get an espresso machine!
I will!! I share on my IG stories but I need to do it here as well
That's a great idea! I'm too intimidated by those coffee machines. I have no idea how to take coffee to the next level. I would love a video on it!

I also stopped getting my nails done in a salon but I can’t seem to give up pedicures ! 😢 my hands? Stress. My feet? Relaxation.
Completely agree. Home pedicures just are NOT the same

These peace-of-mind tips are great! The expense-saving stuff I don’t do anyway. Craziness! 💚
Brittany, you have become my favorite person to follow! I get so excited when you post a new video. You are an amazing human! ❤
Oh my goodness thank you!!
Children helping you, very endearing.
At times, you have to forgive yourself and be your own friend.
I liked the car cleaning one here in UK people always queuing for car wash, costs nothing a bucket of water and some cleaning products, easy way to save money.
Yes mine Costs £20!! And it's a small car!! 🙈
We only use a basic carwash since moving to our current apartment... Not so easy to do when you live 3 floors up and have to park down the street 😅
Before that - when we had a ground floor place with a driveway - I would run the vacuum's cord out the window, and run buckets of water etc.
Brittany should be a life couch! I love your videos ❤
Ok lady, I wasn’t listening was too busy looking at your face. I was thinking she looks prettier, now I know why. You look great!
thank you!! my face can move again lol
You are right! She looks great even younger I think she always looked great but how cool is that
@@vasseurbeautydid you use fillers on your cheeks? I thought they were naturally prominent. But you do look better ❤
@@kristenchang2685no she just has amazing cheeks from her mom!!
I love your channel so much your tips are so helpful!!! 💕💕
Thanks for watching, it means so much!! 💕
Prior to making a purchase. I make sure it doesn’t require a subscription for continued use.
yes! or I cancel it immediately
Thanks for sharing! I love how many different ways there are to save money!
Bosch make a wet/dry detailing vacuum/ tile/floor/upholstery cleaner so one can detail one's own belongings.
Yasssssss! Love Tonya 💕 Brittany def has a Tonya vibe
Looking forward to see more n more ❤❤❤
Such great tips as always!
Thank you!! I hope these help you simplify too!
Brittany, I just wanted to say that you look healthy and glowed up. I’m always looking for ways to save money. Please make more content like this!
Always love saving $.
Brittany, this was awesome! Thanx for sharing! Keep it up!
With TH-cam school, my husband and I save SO MUCH money On doing our own hair cuts and he dyes my hair! There are SO MANY tutorials! And my kids actually prefer me to cut their hair and I find it sweet ❤ 😊 and my husband did a bomb job on my hair color!
I think I’ve had my car detailed once in my life. Lol
Not responding to texts is a good one!
I wish I could say I quit something to save money, but we are very frugal and pragmatic, so there is not anything, for now, that can be cut, unless it is a weekend outing at a restaurant. Not for the food, but getting out and a change of scene as I am home all day. Glad that u are doing well.
This is a wonderful video! Great ideas and inspiration. Smart Lady!!
I quit vaping bout 10 months ago saved me about $1000 when the year finishes
Love this video! I recently started cutting away at streaming services but this video has some great ideas. Thank you!
With the responding to messages, I found it helps me to type whatever I would want to say.. then i run it through Chat GPT and tell it to make it nicer or more whatever the outcome I need it to have
Oh my gosh brilliant!!
Great video! These types of videos are so useful! Thank you! 😊
These are SO good! One way I'm cutting back is to buy fewer convenience items at the grocery store. I can hard boil my own eggs and make my own pico.
Great advice, thank you for sharing!
I love your ideas. You’re brilliant ❤
Hi Brittany ty so much.-excellent tips. Especially for well being. Btw, I love your super cozy chair! You looked so comfortable in it.
Fantastic!!! Way to look after yourself!
Me and my kids rotate streaming services so when we are done with one we pause it and chose another instead of having 3-4 running at the same time. 🌸
I also do not have cable nor streaming services. I have saved thousands or dollars over the years. I realize I am fortunate to live in an area where I can get free commercial TV through an antenna. Like you, I subscribe to TH-cam premium, and have found it's well worth the money.
The Untethered Soul free audiobook on TH-cam...LIFE -CHANGING! ❤
I’m 52, have never done Botox or filler & have no plans to. And surprisingly people always say I look much younger than I am. 🤷🏻♀️
Very smart choices! Keep at it!
Yes… we tip for most things here it’s gotten a bit out of control imo
I quit alcohol 😉 It's saved me hundreds!
Ordering your nail kit to start doing my nails at home! I do gel/dip and spend $120 a month! I also dread going to the salon every 2-3 weeks
ITS A GAME CHANGER!!!
Great tips 🎉 where did you get that rocking chair it’s so cute looks so comfy!
my reading chair I loveeee amzn.to/4eL8dlW
♥♥♥ Your at-home nail how-to videos convinced me to try it, and I can't thank you enough for that!!! ❤❤❤
Nikol of Fierce Aging is so positive and reinforcing of us women.❤❤❤
I’ve been wondering what you’ve been doing on your skin. You have looked years younger and it made me realize how much your kids look like you!
Oh my goodness thank you!!!
I think she looks amazing because she is away from toxicity…. ❤
Great video!! ❤🎉You are so right! Thank you 😊
To save money for me, for nails I still go to the salon, cut, clean and buff.
Omg me too... I loved looking at my closet full of clothes but I never wore them and it truly stressed me out!!
This video just saved me a ton of time, thank you!
