Question Aly, I am thinking of getting the ESim for Portugal, but I am not clear (I was on their website)… does it give you a local phone number that people can call you at? Do they include GB of cellular data, for when you don’t have access to Wifi (for example when you are driving or on the beach) and would it work just like a regular SIM for times like, for instance, when you need to do 2-step authentication (which my bank does, as well as many of the websites I use). I’ll be in Portugal for 3 months and I’d love to be able to sort that out before I go! Last time I used a Vodaphone SIM card, for 3 months. Thank you, as always!
Airalo only gives you data (so no phone number), but SimLocal has plans where you can purchase a phone number + data: tidd.ly/3BuG97x which means yes, you'll have internet wherever you are - however, if you're going for 3 months, it might be better to do Vodaphone. You won't have access to your phone number, so I would make sure your 2FA can send you either an email or an authenticator code instead of a text/call
I watch lots of travel packing videos and they tend to show the same products over and over again. This video had a few creative things I've never seen before- love that!
I just did two weeks in Osaka and Kyoto -- I absolutely needed the suction cup wall hooks. Neither of my Airbnb's had a place to hang bath towels! When I arrived I didn't think it was a big deal, but the bathrooms were shower/sink/toilet all-in-one's where the shower water would splash everywhere, so not being able to hang my towel meant that I had to drag a dining room chair into the hallway and park it outside the bathroom door so that I could place all my clothes/a towel there. A little inconvenient 😅 My recommendation is to look closely at the photos of your rental for little details like this. Two suction cup hooks would've taken up very little room in my luggage, and saved me so much annoyance. Happy travels 🧳❤ 🌍
For full size liquids in checked luggage, I use freezer grade zipper bags in gallon and half gallon sizes. Put the container sideways in the half gallon bag, roll it up to remove as much air as possible, seal and then put that in a gallon bag and repeat the process.
❤ great video‼️ I’m never disappointed by your tips and tricks… Thank you💥 I will say the mighty patch is great for all the things you say, also great at getting rid of cold sores much faster than just waiting them out😉
Great ideas! The snap trays are great gifts and pack flat! I visited my home town and got one for each of my 5 girlfriends, accompanied by a Tide pen. They all loved them! I got a more curvy one from Amazon but same idea. I use mine to keep all the little travel liquid containers.
this is the dual-voltage one I have: amzn.to/3NTpKwu - I basically just split it up into sections and curl the brush inward as I'm brushing it out..kinda try to mimic what they do when you get a blow out!
I just got the slim toiletry pouches to try on our next trip. I’m trying to slim down my packing. I’ve been such an over packer for years. Trying to see what I can fit in a carry on. Jeans are my go to, I know they add weight, so figuring out how to navigate that. Just recently got an upgrade for my carry on, trying out level8. But I love your tips and tricks for all things carry on!! Tried packing cubes, from one of your videos, total game changer. Thanks!!! Keep making videos, they are super helpful.
I went on 2 week trip… 1 week Croatia 🇭🇷 and 1 week Montenegro… 🇲🇪 I didn’t use the cup holder or the “belt bag”. I did use a thin cross body bag that seemed MUCH more accessible
I need that cup holder. I don’t like to carry heavy bags, and I like my water bottle accessible, or any other drinks standing upright while being hands free.
One thing I only recently heard of was a tooth repair kit (available online & maybe in pharmacy stores). For emergency dental repairs (loose crowns or lost fillings, if you have such things)...
Sadly quite familiar with the emergency dental adhesive and tiny paddle, kept in my 3-1-1 bag with Anbesol/Orajel gum numbing gel. Happy travels and blessings to you and your oral health.
Great ideas! I want those flamingo towel clips, so cute. I would add a Tide Pen and a travel sized Lint Roller to the list. Also, I tried the Clipa in the past and I just thought it was way too heavy to carry around. I wish it was aluminum and much lighter. edit: fixed typo
Aly, Any chance you can make a video on how to utilize your cell phone when on v-cay, like for maps, directions and what networks to use over there. I bought something with my cell phone provider which into didn't work so I was in trouble thank God the ship had WIFI and I booked my tours before hand. How can I be more savy with my phone when travelling? Thanks.
Great video! I have the same toothpaste and I didn’t know you were supposed to leave it on your teeth… also, you can find both the laundry sheets and the towel clips at Dollarama in Canada BUT they maybe harder to find there…
Hi Ally! Love your channel! I have been researching the eSIM option you suggested through airlo but am having difficulty knowing exactly which eSIM to purchase when doing a Caribbean cruise. Any suggestions would be welcomed! I’m from Canada, sailing from the USA in a closed loop voyage. We stop at Basse Terre, Puerto Plata and Tortola.
The company has really good customer service. You can call, email or chat with them and they will help you. I find the website is quite easy to navigate once you read it over. I've used Airelo for many trips and its worked flawlessly.
There is a hack for everything. I can't see when i swim . It has always bothered me. But when i went to get a quote for swim goggles with my glasses strength they quoted me $850 australian dollars. So i had an old pair of glasses. Took them out of the frame and found a pair of $21- swim goggles slightly larger. And the lenses fit on the inside of the swim goggles. I just have to glue them in.
I was fighting a little breakout like my entire last weekend trip. Brought the pimple patches so of course it was finally gone the day we were going home. But still no patches and I’d be dealing with it still mid week, no thank you.
It's the same for Asia, they are not really something you'd expect in a rented accomodation outside N.A.. Those who do use them would bring their own since they are considered more private than a regular towel.
My phone carrier charges me $15 per day to use it abroad (for my last trip that would have been 14 days x $15 = $210) or pay $10 - 15 (total) for the e-sim which is enough data to last 2 weeks or more
I’m in the UK and my normal provider charges £25 for a month to have the exact same services as at home. As I generally only go away for a fortnight at a time it’s covers me and saves me any stress.
$10 seems a lot for toothpaste. When I have been in places where the water is dodgy is to use bottled water for cleaning my teeth and just use my regular toothpaste.
I’ve got facecloths packed forPortugal… last time I was there I had to go to the China shop to buy hand towels and cut them up for facecloths. They simply don’t use them in many parts of Europe. I buy those ‘just add water’ temp clothes at Dollarama!

Exactly the same for me too.
Great video. You have just enough info. Appreciate short and sweet. And great product recs
The vanity tray is such a great idea! My husband always has his crap spread around.
❤ great video‼️ I’m never disappointed by your tips and tricks… Thank you💥 I will say the mighty patch is great for all the things you say, also great at getting rid of cold sores much faster than just waiting them out😉
Good stuff. Some tips I already knew, the toothpaste, folding vanity, am going to try.
I bought the Nomad Lane bag. I love it! thanks for the tips!

Love your videos!! Have purchased many of these items and they’ve worked great! Thought I was the only one who’s says “lipchap”!!!
is it a Canadian thing??
These budget-friendly travel products are super practical and definitely great finds. Thanks for sharing these awesome recommendations! ✈🌟
Compact backup battery with usbC and lightning charger (some plug into wall as well;)
Hey, Ally! Would love a video on your blow dryer brush, how you use it to get volume, and which one you have that's dual voltage-friendly!
this is the dual-voltage one I have: amzn.to/3NTpKwu - I basically just split it up into sections and curl the brush inward as I'm brushing it out..kinda try to mimic what they do when you get a blow out!
Super helpful, thank youuuuu!!! I know these videos take a lot of time and thought ❤

@@ElizabethDeWaters I use them and they’re great! Really cuts down on the bulk of my creams and lotions!
I have almost all of these already and just added the rest to my amazon order! Thanks

1:02 way to go with the nano-hydroxyapatite toothpaste! Added bonus swallowing non-toxic toothpaste is you burp freshness.
burp freshness 🤣

Good call on the tide pen and lint roller!
I bought the towel clips from one of your previous videos. Can't wait to use them!
For a space saver, try towel bands instead of clips!
Oh my gosh, like these ones? amzn.to/4feFB4Q I had no idea they existed, definitely going to try these, thank you!
Flip flops! As I’d be grossed out to shower barefooted in any hotel or airbnb
Really?
a pack of ear plugs are wonderful and necessary in many situations.
Add a scrubba bag for laundry washing

3:13, The food does not make your face have pimple. It's just the moisture that can have pimple unexpectedly.

Many hotels in Europe do not provide wash clothes unless staying near a military base with US troops such as Heidelberg.
Make that almost all hotels in Europe. Only got a washcloth in a B&B.
It's the same for Asia, they are not really something you'd expect in a rented accomodation outside N.A.. Those who do use them would bring their own since they are considered more private than a regular towel.
Can you please explain e SIM card? Why is that better than our normal plan at a daily rate?

Os prendedores de toalha foram os mais importantes do vídeo 😉😂
$10 seems a lot for toothpaste. When I have been in places where the water is dodgy is to use bottled water for cleaning my teeth and just use my regular toothpaste.
I found filling the pouches to be too difficult.
Please people. Pack a carbon monoxide tester. Battery operated plug in the wall don't matter. It might just save your life.
Aboot my bayg! 😂

Many do use them, for removing makeup etc. They are just seen as something personal and you would have your own.
Jokes on you, my mom already has that leather organizer (and the hook)
