I think it's just the type of games that sells. No company wants to innovate something cause it's a risk. A risk in the gaming industry can make or break the company and so most companies go the safe route and hence us gamers are presented with a good but not great game
I mean I get your point but you can't say all these games are the same just because they are in the same genre. Hogwarts Legacy like Assassin's Creed? Lol come on
The only thing that these games have in common was the 3rd person perspective and open world element. Outside of that they all played different. And the fact that he basically compared all the games to Assassin's Creed was laughable.
look i get it, but at the point that you're comparing spiderman to horizon and last of us, and saying they're the same but 'with a gun', i start to question if it's a legitimate point or you're just being cynical Because the point truly reads as ''if you don't consider any of the differences, they're the same''. It's sorta like saying that persona and pokemon are the same because both are dungeon crawlers with a capture mechanic Not that these games you mentined don't deserve their share of criticism, and not that their formula hasn't gotten stale, but this video isn't the way imo. On the bright side, armored core seems to be coming in hot with something very exciting to tickle some of that innovation thirst
Yeah, I have to admit I was being cynical. I think I mentioned that this video was made after I got my PS5 and was anticipating on playing Ghost of Tsushima. And it's also where I find Ghost of Tsushima disappointing and boring because it is a third person open world just like any other games in recent times. I pushed the narrative of the third person perspective and the open world format being the perpetrator because these are normally the first impressions and that's where I see the line being blurred. Maybe the better way to put it is that these games have a lot more similarities than there are unique differences. But then again, that is also a shortsighted way of thinking because there's more to it behind the first impression. I've let my emotions tamper with the production of this video and I feel like I have to say sorry if you find this video a waste of your time.
