I like watching tetris players vs. puyo because the tetris can make bigger & crazier builds, especially towards the top, when it would otherwise be unviable.
Tetris players usually enjoy playing against either puyo or tetris, while puyo players dislike playing against tetris because of how unfair the match-up is at high level for puyo in this game (I'd say 3-7). Some puyo players try to specialize on it tho.
Hmm Maybe i can explain In Tetris vs Puyo battle, Tetris usually attack Puyo first and Puyo Attack Tetris with high chain later. But if Puyo do "All Clear" at first. Puyo lost 4 puyos to stack High chain. If puyo can't do High chain. Tetris' field will be very good and low. Which is very not good for Puyo. And if Puyo is unlucky, Tetris can get Straight grey line. Which helps Tetris to attack puyo lot. For that reason, Some Puyo players don't like to "All Clear" at first. DeLeam012 /eafan0 /QuarPi01 /Zerone I’m not that sure about that. It’s just 4 puyo’s and an all clear sends 6 lines? to Tetris board. If u used it as defense, you could build a larger chain. Some of that reasoning is a big inaccurate as the Tetris player will harass the puyo player so they won’t get a big chain. If you watched high level puyo v Tetris play, the puyo player would get about a 6 chain and almost never more (unless the Tetris sucks and doesn’t harass enough) and then let margin time do the rest. In addition it’s just 5 dang seconds.
@@philipsitu2257 I suppose it depends, but I can understand why he says that since against high level tetris player my win/lose ratio is usually the same wether I have a all-clear start or not, so at best it seems relatively useless. Considering ssenred worked on the puyo vs tetris match-up more than me, I can't imagine it's for no reason. That being said, since it depends on the player, I imagine there isn't an absolute best strategy here.
@@gnochhuos645 i mean...top puyo is usually on the defensive when facing top tetris at the start, and have to wait until margin time to turn the tides, the rock from the all clear could very well be used as a counterweight for doremy's attacks, a safety net while ssenred builds
Since he tried to power the second hit of his chain on the left side, he wouldn't have had yellows for a while and he had no space so he had to put the greens that way to just pop them later. He actually, maybe, could have popped the greens (which would have avoided death) if the purples didn't pop beforehand I wonder if that particular moment was intentional.

For what? An early AC will not be enough to top out Doremy. It only gives him some garbage lines which could be used for a much greater counterattack

ssenred forfeited a guaranteed 7chain in round 3.
