Hitting the growth charts at 20 inches and 7 pounds, the weight of a honeydew melon, your little honey is almost ready for the big time and the big day. With only two weeks left in utero, four max, all systems are almost go. To finish getting ready for that first close-up and all those photo ops, baby has just a few last-minute details to take care of, like shedding the vernix, that greasy, white substance protecting the tender, new skin, and lanugo, the fine, downy hair that's covered your cutie's body for warmth.
Wondering where it all goes? Once the vernix and lanugo are shed into the surrounding amniotic fluid, your baby ingests them along with other waste products such as bile, urine and old cells. These all percolate in those teeny intestines, ultimately winding up in the diaper as the very first, very dark, greenish-brown and very sticky poop known as meconium.
Also gearing up for the big day are your baby's lungs, now fully mature but still producing surfactant in large quantities to prevent the air sacs in the lungs from sticking to each other when breathing begins. Your little one will be here in your arms before you know it.

Im 38 weeks and 2 days today. Feeling like im having more irregular contractions throughout the day. My mucus plug discharges already started since lastweek when i took an evening primrose prescribed by my OB. To all pregnant woman out there, Guide us Lord throughout our pregnancy journey until our recovery 🙏❤🙌
This wonderful lady has walked me through all 3 of my pregnancies! I’m due 3/23/23. 38 weeks today! So excited to meet our baby girl ❤

@@Zay-o1n yes I did! have delivered to a baby girl on the first day of my 39 week! 🤣🤭❤️ At 1.12am ( monday) , my contraction started since morning of that final 38 week ( sunday), I ate 3-4 dates, on Saturday, and drank rasberry tea since week 34 religiously, dilated, from 6cm to 10cm within 1 hour it was a quick labour! Baby was basically swimming to come out🤣, I hope you will deliver safely as well ❤️
