They might be more efficient for this specific scenario, but Silent Gravestone is more versatile and more efficient in all others, especially considering one of those is the currently ubiquitous Scarab God. Paying a bit more when you come up against GPG is not that huge a loss to cover more bases overall. Sideboarding is about card efficiency; not having to use two many cards to single out one specific match up, but having versatile answers to a lot of different threats without having to dilute your deck (and thereby its consistency).
I think there are plenty of different approaches to B/W Knights. I recently made my deck and put the list up online, utilizing Kwende to give our Knights Double Strike (Since a good chunk of them already have First Strike to begin with), and Danitha is exceptional if you want to use Enchantments and Equipment to buff your Knights up, which is a great alternative if you can't afford Benalia. This is a much better decklist in my opinion, I think kwende should not be left out because it's good with knights of grace and malice + anthem effect with benalish marshal. It would be finishing things off on turn 6 or less. A splash of green or red on the upgrade may also make a good variation , Champion of Flame with Dub? Idk it might work a 5/5 double strike with trample with femeref.
Andriel Reynoso it’s definitely not better but a decent budget option. Surely you understand the problem with using auras on creatures that can’t protect themselves?
I love all the deck-tech lingo - and Dev's probably the best at it off-the-cuff. "Get up under Fumigate", "Board in a Box" and all the other words and phrases that are used to present a detailed tech. And after a few years of being into MTG, I understand it all!
You can make most of this deck on Arena too, which is pretty cool. Just gotta replace the Fatal Push with something like Cast Down, and replace Metallic Mimic with whatever fits.
Yup! I'm playing a deck like this in Arena, it's pretty fun! I'm experimenting with a balance between Seal Away and Cast Down since I've been seeing a ton of Legendary targets in Arena for sure.
I think a decent replacement for Metallic Mimic would be Pride of Conquerors from Rivals of Ixalan because this deck revolves around a lot of knights being played and for 2 mana if you have 10 creatures all creatures gets +2/+2 for one turn to one shot the enemy. But if you don't have Ascend then you get a +1/+1 instant anyways.
I think *'Radiant Destiny'* looks like a solid replacement for some of the money cards, so a *budget build would look a lot like:* 4x Dauntless Bodyguard 4x White Knight 4x Black Knight 4x Benalish Marshal 4x Radiant Destiny (also gives ALL creatures you mention Vigilance, given you have the cities blessing) 4x Call the Cavalry (here as creatures) 3x Aryel 4x Seal Away 3x Cast Down 2x Cast Out I can even see a world where you run 3x Radiant and 3x Call the Cavalry and add in two 'Charge' ... or run 2 more removal because you are a tad slower than the more competitive build, but they you are also ALOT more affordable ;)
So I love the deck. I think you hit it on the nail. That being said, I had an idea for a BW deck that uses some knights but is a mid-range deck. It was basically playsets of both of the two drop hexproofish guys, two Aryel, and two Lyra with a playset of the history of benallia as your creature sweet. Then basically just all best creature removal options you can fit, tune the sideboard for control match ups, dark bargain is amazing, since the main deck takes down pretty much any aggro deck. IDK cheap threats, mana sinks, a big flier, and all the answers with a transformative sideboard sounds like where I want to be with it.
I'm not sure how fast or consistently this deck would get to 10 permanents, but I feel that Radiant Destiny might make a decent budget alternative if I were to not play History of Benalia.
honestly, I considered just building mono-white knights and playing a couple of dudes that weren't knights (skymarcher specifically, possibly Legion's Landing) to hit ascend quickly. I wasn't thinking Destiny, but I WAS thinking Pride of Conquerors. Pride could be crazy when History goes off, and I think it would maybe be a more consistent (and faster) deck
Im doing both RD and History of Benalia on mtgarena right now and it works like a charm. But im going mono white too so my decklist is rather different. Edit: I am playing the exact mono white deck that you're describing SBM, and it slays. i went 24 wins and lost 6 times, most of them to wizard tempo.
Noah Nielsen I think the mono-white deck might be more consistent but fatal push and Aryep give lots of power. On the other side Benelish Marshall gives you yet another anthem.
Dev I think theres the pieces to a monored Jaya Ballard creature control deck too. t3 wipe like first eruption/sweltering suns/Goblin Chainwhirler. t4 Chandra (with t3 first eruption you could plus chandra for mana and have 4 right there for Hazoret as well). t5 Mama Jaya comes down after the first eruption bursts and plus her however you want for lightning strikes/hazoret swing. t6 plus mama Jaya and drop a kicked Fight With Fire for 10 to the dome. Plus Chandra for 2 damage. Swing Hazoret. its much slower than monored aggro but it looks like a fun deck for an FMN. any time after turn 3, sunscorched deserts could ping for 1 on the ETB.
Running a vamp and knight deck extremely similar. All my big drops are legendary knights or vamps or vamp knights. Most low creatures are the same... but i do have more vampires, however they all have lifelink. Everything gives lifelink, vigilance, first or double strike, or digs from the grave... also a rise from the grave and open the graves is thrown in to give some return, and board flood. Along with a few lands that can be sacrificed to do the same, return creature from the grave or give power ups to others. Also an elenda with a few murder or sacrifice cards help to ramp her up or destroy her to flood the board, which then we can dig her back out onto the battlefield again.

My list is actually very similar to yours. A few differences: Mimic is only good early game. I went with a more midrange approach with 2 Call the Cavalry's and 2 Lyra Dawnbringers instead. Also, I am trying Authority of the Consuls mainboard as part of my "removal" package. It's just as dead of a card as any removal spell against control but honestly seems more effective at time. It also makes seal away way better. My 9 removal spells are 3 Fatal Push, 4 seal away, 2 authority of the consuls. I'm sideboard, I like vicious offering (for hazoret and scarab god), Gideon's intervention, and invoke the divine. Silent gravestone doesn't seem too great against GPG. Invoke the divine and dispossess seem much more effective.
I've been playing a similar decklist. Ive been either been running 4 less removal and running 4 call the cavalry or splitting it with 7 removal and 2 call the cavalry. Call the cavalry has both won many games for me and allowed me to recover quickly after a settle or fumigate. Call the cavalry on your second lore counter of History is just stupid good.

Great deck tech as always. As far as silent gravestone is concerned, the first ability does have some relevance. It stops torrential gearhulks ability, liliyana death majesty's second ability, scarab gods ability, rekindling phoenix's ability and all embalm creatures. It's just better than sentinel totem, that only lets you scry once.
I have this deck with a few changes and have to tell you its my baby! I replaced Benalish Marshal for Valiant Knight because it only works on Knights so no one will try to steal it and i can make creature double strike. And to get ready my deck for rotation i removed everything except fatal push for now. Added to new mix: Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants, Vona, Butcher of Magan, Cast Down (now main) and Shalai, Voice of Plenty (sideboard). As for the side board i've also added The Eldest Reborn especially for red aggro xD

Dominaria does not do much at all in the Vampires department, that's the main problem. You get 4x Isolated Chapel, that's already pretty good, but I would stick with the existing vampires. It's just not going to be a tier 1 deck any time soon, unfortunately.

Thrown in a few open the graves, or a couple elenda the dusk rose, or cards that let you fetch from your grave... i run a deck very similar to this, and its extremely powerful... just needs a fail safe to keep you creating something if it gets wiped.. or gladly let them wipe it of low creatures to power an elenda...
Replaced Metallic Mimic for Sparring Construct, Aryel for Danitha, Fatal Push for Divest, and Cast Out for Adamant Will till my next payday. Runs pretty well for block constructed and with the Forbearer's Blade (x4).
I've been loving knights so far, man. Wondering what you think of radiant destiny over a couple lands. It's a card that's been really performing for me and I find that with 24 lands you can get flooded pretty easily.
Good list deck seems very solid. You don’t think a moment of craving or 2 mains deck is good vs aggro? Also do we not need a single vraska contempt or 2 instead of the enchantment removal?? It is possible that they kill the enchantment and their thing just comes back where vraskas says goodbye forever??? Vampires is it’s own deck I ran it for a month it’s amazing it’s a 125$ tier 1 sleeper deck that plays off radiant destiny. If your knights didn’t have vigilance already I’d say that’s even bette than mimic is some ways. This list is strong but I agreed that Lyra in the board is nuts I added 3 of her over 3 regal caracals in my BANT lands board and she was a house each time I say her. They lost legacy naming approach only to see none and 3 huge angels in my deck along with 3 carrny T waiting to smash them!!! Keep up the awesome decks Dev
I'm too cheap to pick up the Metallic Mimics... what is my next best 2 drop? While not a 2 drop, sort of a replacement, would be Radiant Destiny, but I'm worried about crowding the 3 drop slot. Thoughts?
I'm running vona for roughly the same reasons i'm running Aryel. Vigilance, lifelink, can activate the ability after i attack, pretty good 5 drop for what it can do.Though I haven't come across a lot of control decks in my area. Still need to figure out how I'm going to deal with wizards burn/counterspell when I try to remove their wizards.
I really feel like shield of the realms is a very overlooked card for the sideboard. Just equipping it to a 2/2 body is enough to stop a single bolt spell granted it can be responded to. It can also be very good against token decks because they can use multiple blockers and it prevents each source by 2 which is not the same as +0/+2.
made a similar deck with kwende and danitha, on serras wings and arvad to boost kwende and danitha. But a blackblade would be a great addition, thx for the idea!
I ended up building a very similar BW Knights in Magic Arena when Dominaria dropped. It feels bad not to have access to Mimic. I replaced it with Radiant Destiny. On the upside though, I guess I don't have to worry about Fumigate either.
Missing a few copies of Radiant Destiny. I wouldn't play Shefet of Dunes when playing with Isolated Chapels as I've found that it comes up often when play testing. I also wouldn't play any basic swamps when playing with Benalish Marshal when playing on curve, nor would I play with any copies of Unclaimed Territory for the same reasons plus can't cast non-creature black spells with Unclaimed Territory when you need the black source. I would also play with Shalai, Voice of Plenty to slow down their removal for the turn History of Benalia goes off.
How about 4x Gideon's Intervention vs Fumigate in the SB? I saw it in Craig's Servo deck. Never a dead card on game 2 (I think). Hoses Phoenixes in mono-red too. Could it work?
Oh yeah, I've swapped in Fungal Infection to try out instead of Fatal Push. Sounds like a weird choice, but it hits a ton of X/1 creatures and gives a token to block with. If GPG comes back (which it looks like it is given the deck lists), than Fatal Push is going back in. Plus, why play knights when you can play knights and get high on shrooms! Also, I like Lyra, but I do think Flagship has a lot going for it over the flying angel.
Imo this is the perfect build that's possible r/n. I'd put the angel instead of the choo choo train in the board as well, but hey - I don't have the money for the pushes or the histories either... feelsbad. Also, intro was on sword point on this one.
Hmm I'm really tempted for a deck like this, but just feel it doesn't have all the pieces it needs. If the deck had another 1 drop (specifically a black 1 drop) it could've been a real deck. Even if it's just like a knight grasping scoundrel that would've been fine. As it stands it's halfway in between aggro and mid-range and that probably isn't gonna cut it, but I hope to be wrong. Any chance you will make a white weenie deck soon?
Was thinking bout tossing banalia into mono white tokens, with anoited procession and anthem effects out the butt... more of a casual but fun deck ... also side note is white has a one drop that lets u get banalia back from grave, thought bout putting it in the side board for control match ups

History deals ten by itself. You get a knight, next turn make another attack for two with the first then next turn you get in for eight with the buff. Card is bonkers.
I had way too much funny at my prerelease with a 7/5 danitha with double strike off of kwende. If i were to play them in this deck, what do you guys think i should replace assuming i would have to make room for both danitha and kwende and a couple of swords?
I love mtg is bringing back knight :) I play a white knight deck in modern with knight exemplars and day of judgement (wrath is better tho) has lots of double strike with citadel siege and some protection instants banishing lights and paths but the sideboard is wicked with rip layline hushwing gryff stony silence and in modern can play Pegasus for the flying add in indestructible from exemplar a mean deck hope to see some of you on mtgo
I was toying around with a similar list when I was brewing but I had radiant destiny in over benalish marshal. I thought the vigilance would be great for aryel because everyone attacks and then you activate on the opponents turn after blocks.
Although mimic is a very dynamic card, I think I would rather play some Heart of Kiran in its stead. And I know price is a concern, but I believe Karna is great for this deck on the account of white having the reputation of being deplorable drawing
What about switching a mimic and an aryel for two Kwende, Pride of Femeref. Especially since youre already running 8 first strikers, why not make them double strikers?
Did you look at radiant destiny get another buff with vigilance, stays on curve and will easily hit that ascend but can see why your wanting to hit up so much removal
i wonder why there isnt vonas in this deck, i would put 2 of them at least, vigilance lifelink are good perks and he can kill alone any1 except indestructible creatures. i would use ixalans binding in main deck because this deck weak aganist fliers. But still this deck is awesome (honorable mentions paladin atoinment and desert of ifnir, another removal and paladin will be huge from a certain point and if someone kills it we just heal from it, endless sand and arch of orazca for aganist control, and if some1 builds this deck with a bit more control then elenda is also a good option, and my most favourite part if we sacrifice the aggro part then we can put infinite dmg combo, 2 mastermind's acquisition and pick approach from side deck or a really big creature. i love this deck so many option and troll move for tilt your opponent)
This deck could mana flood a little too often. I'd play 4 cast out main board and one Lyra Angel and 1 first Strikers get double strike. Great build tho. I think it's very strong. Also perhaps a main deck or sideboard of the new armageddon.
I think the only thing that bugs me about the deck is the fact that there's no beating around the bush: It needs the History of Benalia to really take it over the top. It's not just the anthem, it's the fact the tokens are 2/2 vigilance tokens that work with Aryel. Kind of wish that wasn't a mythic given how hyped up the set is right now. We got Baneslayer 2.0 that is going to drop to probably the 8-10 dollar mark and History of Benalia will probably stay at a round 10+ for a bit. Also, why not run both call the cavalry AND history of benalia? =p
It's possible with a fast start swinging into Settle the Wreckage on turn 5 with a Benalia buff, but it is so unreliable. Josu could do very well in a token shell, but you might still need a bit of elf ramp
I have noticed that in almost all of these deck teck videos he is just hanging on the jock of metallic mimic i mean its a good card but now with ravnica in rotation its not a viable option so follow up in these deck tecks with better options would be nice
Could someone please tell me why the standard rotation is different for paper than it is on MTG Arena. It's supposed to be standard format in mtg arena, but it goes from Dominaria-Amonkhet. I'm so confused
tldr; I played and liked the deck and made some changes. -vvvv I played this and already love it! It can be super explosive and it can even holt against a 7/6 hexproof trampler with just two first strike knights :D Even though, I made some changes to the deck. Mainly to adjust to my current meta. I dropped one Benalish Marshal for Arguel's Blood Fast. Not only is it nice to have card draw from time to time, it also is a black permanent that can't be removed easily and +1 Attack came to be actually quite relevant sometimes. Besides, I changed the sideboard quite a bit. It is now like that: 4xDuress, 3xSheltering Light(!), 2xSilent Gravestone, 2xKitesail Freebooter(!), 2xSettle the Wreckage (!!), 1xLyra, 1xShaila(!), Voice of Plenty !Sheltering Light: INSANE against red, good against push and really helpful against Fumigate. And scrying is just a nice extra !Freebooter: basically Duress 5+6. This meta seems pretty control and combo heavy atm and I even could name Human with Mimic if I find it necessary :-| !Shaila: Don't forget it also protects you! So this is mainly my hate card for Aetherflux Reservour decks (yes, they exist!) and burn. !!Settle the Wreckage: Even to show it one time in one game stops so many attacks... I even tricked an opponent into holding attacks until I actually drew my Settle a few turns later :D

Sentinel Totem and Crook of Condemnation both seem more efficient for that.
The first half of silent gravestone is still good for cards like The Scarab God and Rekindling Phoenix.

I wasn't thinking Destiny, but I WAS thinking Pride of Conquerors. Pride could be crazy when History goes off, and I think it would maybe be a more consistent (and faster) deck
Im doing both RD and History of Benalia on mtgarena right now and it works like a charm. But im going mono white too so my decklist is rather different.
Edit: I am playing the exact mono white deck that you're describing SBM, and it slays. i went 24 wins and lost 6 times, most of them to wizard tempo.
Noah Nielsen I think the mono-white deck might be more consistent but fatal push and Aryep give lots of power. On the other side Benelish Marshall gives you yet another anthem.
Dev I think theres the pieces to a monored Jaya Ballard creature control deck too. t3 wipe like first eruption/sweltering suns/Goblin Chainwhirler. t4 Chandra (with t3 first eruption you could plus chandra for mana and have 4 right there for Hazoret as well). t5 Mama Jaya comes down after the first eruption bursts and plus her however you want for lightning strikes/hazoret swing. t6 plus mama Jaya and drop a kicked Fight With Fire for 10 to the dome. Plus Chandra for 2 damage. Swing Hazoret. its much slower than monored aggro but it looks like a fun deck for an FMN. any time after turn 3, sunscorched deserts could ping for 1 on the ETB.
Running a vamp and knight deck extremely similar. All my big drops are legendary knights or vamps or vamp knights. Most low creatures are the same... but i do have more vampires, however they all have lifelink. Everything gives lifelink, vigilance, first or double strike, or digs from the grave... also a rise from the grave and open the graves is thrown in to give some return, and board flood. Along with a few lands that can be sacrificed to do the same, return creature from the grave or give power ups to others. Also an elenda with a few murder or sacrifice cards help to ramp her up or destroy her to flood the board, which then we can dig her back out onto the battlefield again.

I've put a couple of copies of Vanquisher's Banner. With so many low mana cost on theme cards, you get to draw an extra one when you do. Nice anthem.

My list is actually very similar to yours. A few differences:
Mimic is only good early game. I went with a more midrange approach with 2 Call the Cavalry's and 2 Lyra Dawnbringers instead.
Also, I am trying Authority of the Consuls mainboard as part of my "removal" package. It's just as dead of a card as any removal spell against control but honestly seems more effective at time. It also makes seal away way better. My 9 removal spells are 3 Fatal Push, 4 seal away, 2 authority of the consuls.
I'm sideboard, I like vicious offering (for hazoret and scarab god), Gideon's intervention, and invoke the divine. Silent gravestone doesn't seem too great against GPG. Invoke the divine and dispossess seem much more effective.
I've been playing a similar decklist. Ive been either been running 4 less removal and running 4 call the cavalry or splitting it with 7 removal and 2 call the cavalry. Call the cavalry has both won many games for me and allowed me to recover quickly after a settle or fumigate. Call the cavalry on your second lore counter of History is just stupid good.

Great deck tech as always. As far as silent gravestone is concerned, the first ability does have some relevance. It stops torrential gearhulks ability, liliyana death majesty's second ability, scarab gods ability, rekindling phoenix's ability and all embalm creatures. It's just better than sentinel totem, that only lets you scry once.
I have this deck with a few changes and have to tell you its my baby! I replaced Benalish Marshal for Valiant Knight because it only works on Knights so no one will try to steal it and i can make creature double strike. And to get ready my deck for rotation i removed everything except fatal push for now. Added to new mix: Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants, Vona, Butcher of Magan, Cast Down (now main) and Shalai, Voice of Plenty (sideboard). As for the side board i've also added The Eldest Reborn especially for red aggro xD

Dominaria does not do much at all in the Vampires department, that's the main problem. You get 4x Isolated Chapel, that's already pretty good, but I would stick with the existing vampires. It's just not going to be a tier 1 deck any time soon, unfortunately.

Here’s my worry with this deck: board wipes. There’s been so many wipes running around lately, and we don’t got no heroic intervention to stop it.
Thrown in a few open the graves, or a couple elenda the dusk rose, or cards that let you fetch from your grave... i run a deck very similar to this, and its extremely powerful... just needs a fail safe to keep you creating something if it gets wiped.. or gladly let them wipe it of low creatures to power an elenda...
Replaced Metallic Mimic for Sparring Construct, Aryel for Danitha, Fatal Push for Divest, and Cast Out for Adamant Will till my next payday. Runs pretty well for block constructed and with the Forbearer's Blade (x4).

I've been loving knights so far, man. Wondering what you think of radiant destiny over a couple lands. It's a card that's been really performing for me and I find that with 24 lands you can get flooded pretty easily.
Good list deck seems very solid. You don’t think a moment of craving or 2 mains deck is good vs aggro? Also do we not need a single vraska contempt or 2 instead of the enchantment removal?? It is possible that they kill the enchantment and their thing just comes back where vraskas says goodbye forever??? Vampires is it’s own deck I ran it for a month it’s amazing it’s a 125$ tier 1 sleeper deck that plays off radiant destiny. If your knights didn’t have vigilance already I’d say that’s even bette than mimic is some ways. This list is strong but I agreed that Lyra in the board is nuts I added 3 of her over 3 regal caracals in my BANT lands board and she was a house each time I say her. They lost legacy naming approach only to see none and 3 huge angels in my deck along with 3 carrny T waiting to smash them!!! Keep up the awesome decks Dev
I'm too cheap to pick up the Metallic Mimics... what is my next best 2 drop? While not a 2 drop, sort of a replacement, would be Radiant Destiny, but I'm worried about crowding the 3 drop slot. Thoughts?
I'm running vona for roughly the same reasons i'm running Aryel. Vigilance, lifelink, can activate the ability after i attack, pretty good 5 drop for what it can do.Though I haven't come across a lot of control decks in my area. Still need to figure out how I'm going to deal with wizards burn/counterspell when I try to remove their wizards.
I really feel like shield of the realms is a very overlooked card for the sideboard. Just equipping it to a 2/2 body is enough to stop a single bolt spell granted it can be responded to. It can also be very good against token decks because they can use multiple blockers and it prevents each source by 2 which is not the same as +0/+2.
made a similar deck with kwende and danitha, on serras wings and arvad to boost kwende and danitha. But a blackblade would be a great addition, thx for the idea!

I ended up building a very similar BW Knights in Magic Arena when Dominaria dropped. It feels bad not to have access to Mimic. I replaced it with Radiant Destiny. On the upside though, I guess I don't have to worry about Fumigate either.
Missing a few copies of Radiant Destiny. I wouldn't play Shefet of Dunes when playing with Isolated Chapels as I've found that it comes up often when play testing. I also wouldn't play any basic swamps when playing with Benalish Marshal when playing on curve, nor would I play with any copies of Unclaimed Territory for the same reasons plus can't cast non-creature black spells with Unclaimed Territory when you need the black source. I would also play with Shalai, Voice of Plenty to slow down their removal for the turn History of Benalia goes off.
How about 4x Gideon's Intervention vs Fumigate in the SB? I saw it in Craig's Servo deck. Never a dead card on game 2 (I think). Hoses Phoenixes in mono-red too. Could it work?

Oh yeah, I've swapped in Fungal Infection to try out instead of Fatal Push. Sounds like a weird choice, but it hits a ton of X/1 creatures and gives a token to block with. If GPG comes back (which it looks like it is given the deck lists), than Fatal Push is going back in. Plus, why play knights when you can play knights and get high on shrooms! Also, I like Lyra, but I do think Flagship has a lot going for it over the flying angel.
Imo this is the perfect build that's possible r/n. I'd put the angel instead of the choo choo train in the board as well, but hey - I don't have the money for the pushes or the histories either... feelsbad.

Hmm I'm really tempted for a deck like this, but just feel it doesn't have all the pieces it needs. If the deck had another 1 drop (specifically a black 1 drop) it could've been a real deck. Even if it's just like a knight grasping scoundrel that would've been fine. As it stands it's halfway in between aggro and mid-range and that probably isn't gonna cut it, but I hope to be wrong. Any chance you will make a white weenie deck soon?
What about running Josu Vess as a way of dropping tokens or Impale as a monetarily cheaper Fatal Push?

Was thinking bout tossing banalia into mono white tokens, with anoited procession and anthem effects out the butt... more of a casual but fun deck ... also side note is white has a one drop that lets u get banalia back from grave, thought bout putting it in the side board for control match ups

as for card draw, wouldn't karn be better than blood fast? the only problem i see is the 4 cmc that is a problem against counterspells
Did you say "poop out knights"? If so, that was hilarious! I've been laughed at for saying that this card or that 'poops' out various tokens. Oh yeah, cool deck as well. I figure if I get to draft any Dominaria, I would go knight tribal or possibly wizards, since I have never made a wizard deck yet.

History deals ten by itself. You get a knight, next turn make another attack for two with the first then next turn you get in for eight with the buff. Card is bonkers.
I had way too much funny at my prerelease with a 7/5 danitha with double strike off of kwende. If i were to play them in this deck, what do you guys think i should replace assuming i would have to make room for both danitha and kwende and a couple of swords?
I love mtg is bringing back knight :) I play a white knight deck in modern with knight exemplars and day of judgement (wrath is better tho) has lots of double strike with citadel siege and some protection instants banishing lights and paths but the sideboard is wicked with rip layline hushwing gryff stony silence and in modern can play Pegasus for the flying add in indestructible from exemplar a mean deck hope to see some of you on mtgo

I was toying around with a similar list when I was brewing but I had radiant destiny in over benalish marshal. I thought the vigilance would be great for aryel because everyone attacks and then you activate on the opponents turn after blocks.
I'd like to see an abzan legends deck or some sort of taxes deck with kambal, ghostly prison guy and damping sphere

Seems like there could be another route with Danitha with the B/W trials and Cartouches.
Although mimic is a very dynamic card, I think I would rather play some Heart of Kiran in its stead. And I know price is a concern, but I believe Karna is great for this deck on the account of white having the reputation of being deplorable drawing

What about switching a mimic and an aryel for two Kwende, Pride of Femeref. Especially since youre already running 8 first strikers, why not make them double strikers?
Did you look at radiant destiny get another buff with vigilance, stays on curve and will easily hit that ascend but can see why your wanting to hit up so much removal
i wonder why there isnt vonas in this deck, i would put 2 of them at least, vigilance lifelink are good perks and he can kill alone any1 except indestructible creatures. i would use ixalans binding in main deck because this deck weak aganist fliers.
But still this deck is awesome
(honorable mentions paladin atoinment and desert of ifnir, another removal and paladin will be huge from a certain point and if someone kills it we just heal from it, endless sand and arch of orazca for aganist control, and if some1 builds this deck with a bit more control then elenda is also a good option, and my most favourite part if we sacrifice the aggro part then we can put infinite dmg combo, 2 mastermind's acquisition and pick approach from side deck or a really big creature. i love this deck so many option and troll move for tilt your opponent)
This deck could mana flood a little too often. I'd play 4 cast out main board and one Lyra Angel and 1 first Strikers get double strike. Great build tho. I think it's very strong. Also perhaps a main deck or sideboard of the new armageddon.

I think the only thing that bugs me about the deck is the fact that there's no beating around the bush: It needs the History of Benalia to really take it over the top. It's not just the anthem, it's the fact the tokens are 2/2 vigilance tokens that work with Aryel. Kind of wish that wasn't a mythic given how hyped up the set is right now. We got Baneslayer 2.0 that is going to drop to probably the 8-10 dollar mark and History of Benalia will probably stay at a round 10+ for a bit. Also, why not run both call the cavalry AND history of benalia? =p

It's possible with a fast start swinging into Settle the Wreckage on turn 5 with a Benalia buff, but it is so unreliable.
Josu could do very well in a token shell, but you might still need a bit of elf ramp

While we may never get that much mana, a 4/5 vigilance for 4 while still being a relevant creature type seems good enough as it is.

I have noticed that in almost all of these deck teck videos he is just hanging on the jock of metallic mimic i mean its a good card but now with ravnica in rotation its not a viable option so follow up in these deck tecks with better options would be nice

Worth noting silent gravestone does not affect GPG other than GY hate since this doesn't target. It does work for Scarab God tho.

Could someone please tell me why the standard rotation is different for paper than it is on MTG Arena. It's supposed to be standard format in mtg arena, but it goes from Dominaria-Amonkhet. I'm so confused
They added Dominaria yesterday, so they seem to be working forwards not backwards.
The first beta testing only had stuff from Ixalan. They're probably just a bit scattered updating things so people can keep playing with new cards

I played this and already love it! It can be super explosive and it can even holt against a 7/6 hexproof trampler with just two first strike knights :D
Even though, I made some changes to the deck. Mainly to adjust to my current meta. I dropped one Benalish Marshal for Arguel's Blood Fast. Not only is it nice to have card draw from time to time, it also is a black permanent that can't be removed easily and +1 Attack came to be actually quite relevant sometimes. Besides, I changed the sideboard quite a bit. It is now like that:
4xDuress, 3xSheltering Light(!), 2xSilent Gravestone, 2xKitesail Freebooter(!), 2xSettle the Wreckage (!!), 1xLyra, 1xShaila(!), Voice of Plenty
!Sheltering Light: INSANE against red, good against push and really helpful against Fumigate. And scrying is just a nice extra
!Freebooter: basically Duress 5+6. This meta seems pretty control and combo heavy atm and I even could name Human with Mimic if I find it necessary :-|
!Shaila: Don't forget it also protects you! So this is mainly my hate card for Aetherflux Reservour decks (yes, they exist!) and burn.
!!Settle the Wreckage: Even to show it one time in one game stops so many attacks... I even tricked an opponent into holding attacks until I actually drew my Settle a few turns later :D
