Jed Madela won a two or more international singing contests and became famous...then his career gets great making him judge to some celebrity adult and kids contest like "Your Face Sounds Familiar" and of course, the popular singing contest in Showtime...Tawag ng Tanghalan. Jed Madela is the 1st filipino vocalist and representative from the Philippines to win WCOPA - World Championship of Performing Arts in Hollywood in 2005 with 40+ countries competing. He went on to win World Champion and Grand Champion Performer of the World. Fastforward to 2016, Philippines ranked No.1 in the world winning 14 World Champions in Vocals and 10 Grand Champion Performer of the World by Vocalist not to add other winners from non-vocalist division. The only asian country to win Grand Champion in History.

You could read this on Wikipedia but he started with small gigs and was given greater attention after participating in and Asian Singing Contest with 16 countries who participated. His career bloomed from there. He was also sent to the USA for the singing competition World Championship of the Performing Arts in California and he won.

He looked struggling in the high register but it didn't that is just only his expression hahaha. He's really good singing the songs of Freddie Mercury and its just a piece of cake for him. So sad cause the exposure in Philippine national television for him was so minimal and its annoying, but he has a great and magnificent talent.
