Hell freaking yeah! You’re treating us too well with a play-through of this game. I thoroughly enjoyed my play-through of this years back when it first released. I hope you can enjoy the experience just as much as I.
I did not - until I decided to use a horse and 'joust' my way into some bandit armor allowing me some breathing room in future combat. "Get off your horse and fight with honor". I'm a gamer - I have no honor.
Hardcore mode is EXTREMELY awesome. on my second playthrough now, with 4 of the debuffs, and it's incredible. the fact that it doesn't show you where you are on the map and can't fast travel makes you notice SO MUCH more about the world you play in just yesterday i ran across a haystack close to a village with a nearby burned out campfire. next to the campfire were a boquet of roses, a love potion, and a jug of wine. in the haystack there were pieces of clothing, and on the rafters was a skirt, with a small bloodstain. I guess some young villagers discovered each other 🤭❤
Yeah, I finished my hardcore play through, but I absolutely would not recommend to new players. It's better to play through on normal first and only go into Hardcore when you have a better understanding of the world. At least in my opinion.
This game is an underrated gem, but it has a steep learning curve. I won't spoil anything for you, but I can provide some useful tips if you're interested. There is a sequel set for release next year, and it is my most highly anticipated upcoming video game release.
I'd love to read any tips you have to share! I had so much fun playing. I've been thinking about this game all day. I like how Henry doesn't really know anything or have any skills, just like me haha. Henry and I can grow and learn together lol
@KristaPlays If you pick enough nettles, you'll gain a perk called resistance, which gives a 2 point buff to your vitality. Nettles are very common and can be found along the side of a lot of paths. As a peasant, Henry never received the benefits of a public school system like us modern folk. Henry can't read, but there is a retired scribe who can teach you for 50 groschen. This is highly recommended for 2 reasons. Alchemy requires you to be able to follow written instructions in order to make potions, and there are books you can read to level up your skills. Sitting down in a comfortable spot to read is recommended as well. Food items in your inventory will spoil over time. Dried meat, fruit, and mushrooms will stay good indefinitely. Food pots provide 25 nourishment, and eating from them is not considered stealing. They have a cooldown period after you eat from them before they can be used again, and they can be poisoned. Combat can be challenging, but you'll eventually be taught the perfect block, and You should ask to be taught master strikes as well. You'll have to prove to him that you're ready, but you'll probably have the hang of combat by then.
I was expecting waking up in a wagon with some guy asking me "You're finally a peasant." Reminds me of when I first discovered Dungeons & Dragons 46 years ago - my friends and I were SO excited to play this "new and different game" and then finding out "Okay first you have to read these 2 books. One is 128 pages long and the other is over 200 pages long." 😭
As usual it pays to see some things to the end, even if in the back of your mind you may be thinking "Not really my thing." I'll come back for more since I'll usually stick with something for at least a few episodes just to get a good feel for what's going on. Doesn't always work out; The Witcher, GoW, and Baldur's Gate never really hooked me after 4 or 5 episodes on other channels so we'll see how this one does. I'm enjoying the aesthetics and the apparent attention to detail and historical accuracy as far as arms and armor and medieval warfare.
I was reading that this game is based on historical events (with creative liberties taken of course ie Henry is fictional). Sir Radzig is a real person. Skalitz is a real place. The Sacking of Skalitz is a historical event that occurred. So interesting!
Part 2 should expose whom can be knights and whom will remain peasants. Yep - the game has a deserved reputation which requires more than good reflexes.
I wish you played PC version, 60fps and no loading times make it quite a bit more enjoyable. It is RPG masterpiece, especially in hardcore mode (although that requires more patience for sure).
Just remember that Henry is peasant he don't know anything and you will need him to learn everything and it's slow but that's the core of the game you are not really a hero in this game so take it slowly and think about your actions.
Has there ever been a game where kicking a door in or smashing a lock or jimmying a latch has been an option? I know there've been "force lock" but not sure if you ever have been given an option to use a hammer or chisel or prybar ( I guess Lara Croft has used her climbing hook to accomplish that so at least one I suppose.)
I'll say the other - don't follow roads (paths) - instead flank them: Once off a path it's easy to see they themselves have extra growth limiting your view distance and hiding ambushes. Traveling off road keeps you from 'being surprised'.

Appreciated your thoroughness, it will pay off in long run to know all the background info in deeper immersion. Good job!
For the love of god people, when you do not know how to do something, like sprint, open the menu and look at the controls :)
Ohh snaaaaap, I didn't this coming! That's so cool! I hope you like it and have fun, its such a cool game. Thanks for playing, Krista!
I had so much fun. I can't wait to keep playing!
Oh Schnapp, i guess you could say

Hi Krista, There is a run button. Its in the controls as sprint. Great game, glad you decided to play
Haha I totally noticed that when I was editing this video lol. I have to hold down L3 and press O. Oops ahaha.
subscribed, looking forward to see your journey in Bohemia.

God I love your pronounciation of czech names. Olomouc. Jan Hus. It is so funny xD
Very fun game, good voice acting and story so far. I am also running a first time playthrough of this game. Just in time before the sequel 😅
Right on time for the second one, already counting the days and almost can't wait anymore. ;O Enjoy a wild ride to 15th century Bohemia. :)

I know that it's the Middle Ages, but you WILL remember to wash your hands before eating anything after decorating the German's house right?
During the battle, do not exhaust your stamina completely, otherwise you start to lose health faster.

Keep playing ❤
Henry's Father is not educated at all.
but he sure is wise.
Solid 2 hour tutorial :D
Hell yeah let's go 🔥
Ill just say one thing ... lock picking to lvl 15 as soon as you can hehe
