@@wiserthanyou4989 I like your thinking, but before u comment see where Kenya is and where Uganda is, Kenya is economically and politically more developed than Uganda, because Swahili unites them. Their people can come together to protest when they feel change is needed. Before u think so small mindedly u have to look at the enormous impact speaking the same language would bring, in terms of trade, and even unity. Even regional integration .
@@byttlejuice145 Your obliviousness to the underlying factors of your, "where Kenya is and where Uganda is, economically and politically", is evidence to your lack of knowledge on the history of both countries. FYI Uganda was put under British and US sanctions when General Amin chucked the Indians and Israelis from Uganda and subsequent decades of political turmoil. And guess where most of those Indians fled...... you guessed it, to your Kenya. General Amin did for Ugandans a very huge favour, something Mugabe emulated decades later, no wonder they are demonised by the West and lazy minded Africans follow suit. But fast forward to recent times, the whites being chased out of SA, Zimbabwe, Namibia etc, where do you think they are fleeing...... again you guessed it, your Kenya. Does that make Kenya economically more developed.... I guess, in your eyes, not mine. Because what does it profit the Kenyans to have all this "development" and be the hotel workers opening doors, lifting luggage, cooking meals for the Mzungu, you have a Nairobi and other towns, places that Kenyan natives can not even go to because they feel unwelcome there, places like Upper hill etc, restaurants where they are being kicked out, like that Chinese one. It is kind of nonsensical for me to even compare two poor countries, it is like a kettle calling a pot black, ha ha ha ha ha, because I am sure you have traveled, if not physically at least through online means and dreams, to see what development means. But since you started it, here we go....... There are pillars of development that project a country's growth. Uganda is by far more gifted with natural resources, than your Kenya. For instance, check out google maps and see that 70% of Kenya is a desert, and Nairobi with its population growing soon will always have healthy and fresh water shortages now and in the future, it is a city that was built where there is no fresh water river or lake...... only may be that pond you got in the city centre...... Now look again on google maps and see how blessed Uganda is, even without mentioning the resources underground. If you did not know, the Wakanda inspiration by Stan Lee was about the kingdom of Buganda which amazed the European explorers upon arrival for its very well develop systems of government, that is all over world history, facts. And the tribe in the snow mountains is the Kingdoms in the Western Uganda where snow capped Mt. Rwenzori is, the descendants of the Cwezi and Tembuzi. Believe it or not but the movie also shows you the position of the tribe on western part of L. Victoria. The most developed systems and kingdoms, the colonialists made sure to destroy and that is why you see Uganda had so much instability because the colonialists feared a well organised kingdom developing, like a resource rich country like DRC. And it is only a matter of time, the US 30yrs ago could never have guessed that China will be richer than them in 2020AD and double richer than them in the next 30yrs. Uganda has all the necessary resources to leap frog Kenya in development in any way imaginable, once we get out sh!t together, Swahili or no Swahili. one important point is this: the government steps towards standardisation and propagation of Swahili in Uganda is being done from or in Kampala instead of commencing it from areas which have wholeheartedly accepted Kiswahili, so that the language may spead outwards. in short deliberate on the saying that ''one must lead by example'. In Uganda's case people in Kampala do not have the interest of leading by example.

We need Swahili in Uganda. I think it would ease some of the tribal differences.
exactly
I am sure they speak Swahili in Kenya, and I am also sure that they had terrible tribal post election violence in 2007. And all subsequent elections have been marred by violence and fears of. I think a comment should be first run through the mind before it is typed. What Uganda needs is for its people to know the blessing it is.
Although I love Swahili because it is an African language.
@@wiserthanyou4989 am Ugandan, and I don't care what the British did nothing nor indians and Amin, nor how great we were in the past, fact is, we are shitty today and learning Swahili would be beneficial to everyone within the country socially and economically and otherwise. While it would be a good thing for them to know Swahili as well, there's also nothing wrong with knowing English. If anything, it opens up the world to you. It's always good to know languages. one important point is this: the government steps towards standardisation and propagation of Swahili in Uganda is being done from or in Kampala instead of commencing it from areas which have wholeheartedly accepted Kiswahili, so that the language may spead outwards. in short deliberate on the saying that ''one must lead by example'. In Uganda's case people in Kampala do not have the interest of leading by example.
