That is common on diesel pushers for the radiator to get plugged up. If you have a older diesel with with oil blow by out the vent tube. The oil will get on the radiator attract dirt and plug your radiator.
I also had a overheat problem, on grades, with my 8.3 Cummins with sidemount rad. It did help to clean the rad but the real problem was the hydraulic pump, on the rear of the engine, needed rebuilding as the o-rings were eaten up and the fan was not turning to full rpm.
Yeah, all that dirt seems to have been sucked up into the radiator. There is a clip on another of our videos that shows just how much dirt flys out the other side.
Good on the drone stuff - now if you and I are ever in the same zip code together again (and in enough open space), you can educate me! I'm waaaaaay behind on the learning curve!
Nice trouble-shooting, I still dont understand how you figured out how the radiator was plugged with the water, that is something I need to learn more about, but it looked fantastic when you finished it up!! Bummer about the ranch that looks like an amazing place to moochdock!!
Thank you. The camera changed the sound of the water. There was a distinct difference in sound between the water going through or hitting a plug. I guess the camera internals figured it was all just noise.
Our unit had 2 sets, one on the lines at the compressor and the the other pair were up front, low side on line coming out of evaporator and hi side was on the dryer. Maked it nice to service from either location.
Frank, thanks for the comment. The video was part of a series we did of our trip from FL to California, hence the chit chat. We made this while in California as we experienced overheating isues on interstate 8 and found out this is a fairly common problem with side radiator rigs. Wanted to help other rv travelers out as I found videos that people replaced all kinds of unnecessary parts to discover that the radiator behind the CAC was clogged with dirt.

Thanks RV Dog, Yes ours does have that tube also.

What a beautiful ranch. Great drone footage and video. I love watching.
Thank you, the place was great for sure.
Rear engine or RE verssions' always have the same problems, good RV amigo!

Thats a beautiful ranch. We should talk generators! ;)
Thanks Two Beards! The ranch is defiantly a cool place. Lets talk Generators.

After I crashed and broke it, I decided that I needed more air time.
Wow, I can't believe how the radiator turned out. Looked like a new radiator when you were done!
Yeah it cleaned up pretty good for sure.

That radiator almost looked new when you were done. You mentioned you have the Wi-Fi ranger, how do you like that? We are looking at getting one.
It was very clean for sure and no more issues there. We would probably not buy another ranger. Its great when it works, Like I said when.
Hello, I have a question, where are the AC ports located?

Why the idle chit chat?
