Family trips down I-95 all the way to Miami during the 70’s. We would turn the radio dial as we got out of range of a station and continue listening to the story on another station until we were out of range again . .... it’s the little things like this that make childhood such a special time. I lived in Canada and we didn’t have a cbs affiliate so I honestly looked more forward to the drive down then the actual hotel stay. This program was very special to me and I’m so happy I found it again on you tube.
So nice to hear TV and big screen actors and actresses playing roles in these episodes from the 70s and of course our host E. G. Marshall! Some of these screen stars played in many episodes as well. Morgan Fairchild was a beautiful actress back in the day. Enjoying CBSRMT again in 2022!
I've been listening to several episodes the last few days. The audio quality of this particular episode was near FM standards. Quite surprising since most episodes I've listened to had deteriorated audio quality due to age (nearly 50 years ago). Thank you so very much for posting these wonderfully nostalgic mysteries!
Thanks, Chilly, for putting all these up. They are wonderful. Thank you for not monetizing them making it easy to fall asleep listening to a “bedtime story” without being awakened by a loud advertisement. I always re-listen to it in the morning so I can get the whole story. :-)
Reading the comments....I know what I'm winding down with tonight. I've probably listened to 100 or so episodes by now, and I especially love the scifi eps
A lot of these stories are really good? Be nice if the audio quality was better although not totally as i do enjoy that old rustic sound, thanks for putting them all together though, good effort & very much appreciated m8 They should be made more available on these drama podcast sites as they would do well all polished up.
I remember watching an old tv episode with this plot, just can't remember the show. Must have been The Twilight Zone, or The Outer Limits, or one of those shows. But it was definitely this exact plot. Just the ending was a little different, I think, I'm not sure. The details are a little vague, but the plot itself is 100% recognizable.
I'd be grateful for such lovely home made food in jail! And they're together and can visit with their one ally, free room and food, very lucky considering the circumstances.
I think these should be brought back. The American people could use the change. These radio shows where made when me where men and women asked before they acted and weren't cheating skanks.

Always love hearing Frances Sternhagen's voice! Such a good actress she was.
She was great as Cliff’s mother in Cheers.
The best! She's in several of these💕💕💕

Fielden Farrington, who wrote this episode also wrote Sleepy Village, which is very good too. A similar story about a small town with a big mystery.

Kaltonian remember it’s 44 years old. Sound is good to me.
I knew I recognized that voice. it's Morgan Fairchild. Not the best episode, but as entertaining as usual.
And Cliff Clavin's mother.
I've heard her on other stories.
I thought that was her too
Morgan Fairchild was in High school with my sister in Dallas Texas. Lake Highlands High school. She is very beautiful.
The way they describe "mind-control" reminds me of the movie "Get Out"
Yes, also The Host.
Enjoyed this one.
Back when you could camp anywhere in New England without getting arrested
A better copy of "invasion of the body snatchers"
David Vincent knows....
Never stop in a town with less than a 1000 people... pretty sure they make their own rules 🤦🏻
ChillySunshine is the best
Thanks Drew!
Why do so few people hit the like?
@bill bixby im marxisting your comment down for that
It doesn't occur to people with this genre. Just enjoy.
@Rob M Everything doesn't have to be political. DJT20.

It would be nice to get people in to it. Hashtag it or share them on FB. See what happens.
Skanks scream for p. c. but run men down&it be kay, p. c.
RIP
Dropped some acid and listened to this and boy oh boy Morgan Fairchild looked swell....
This particular episode is quite a mindtrip.
You're so cool.
Why didn't you pick it up.😈
Morgan Fairchild! Ha!
It's happening now in our government think about it great ending.
I love the prices. $4 per meal.
other episodes 5 cent sodas.
I almost put a thumbs down for the terribly exaggerated accent. Ayuh. Its to good a story tho.
No wonder small town sheriffs get such a bad rap. They are endlessly portrayed as being lazy, small minded and above the law.
But it is usually Southern sheriff's, except for in "Mayberry."
For intelligent aliens their grammar is very poor
