  • Join us on an unforgettable adventure as we conquer Emory Peak-the highest point in Big Bend National Park! This 10.5-mile hike took us through stunning landscapes, relentless switchbacks, and a hands-and-feet rock scramble to reach the breathtaking summit at 7,825 feet.
Along the way, we encountered fall colors in January, a friendly Mexican Jay, and even a fearless roadrunner! But the final push to the peak? Absolutely nerve-wracking. A Category 3 rock scramble with no ropes, no grips, and a sheer drop waiting below. 😳
We also spread my mother’s ashes at a peaceful spot near the peak-a place she always wanted to visit.

Very nice video. I love Big Bend. We did Emory Peak a few years ago and just did South Rim last November. That final scramble is amazing. Thanks.

I will be back for the South Rim for sure! We ran out of time on this trip.

@@herooutdoorchannel1582 Next time be sure to go to Boquillas, Mexico, and visit the hot springs on the Rio Grande. Both were fantastic.
