  • The Solar Auxlia rule the ground combat of Legions Imperialis with their massive tanks and massed guns. Their one weakness? Chain of Command. Let's check out the other core armylist in this boxed game and overview their core mechanics and army construction.
    Thanks to GW for the complimentary advance copy of the box to review.

    Super-stoked for this game - and for Solar Auxilia in particular. 40K's dizzying cycle of Codex release and rules bloat just requires too much investment of time to keep on top of the game - whereas Legions Imperialis brings combined arms (and Titans!) at a meaningful scale. Epic gaming is back!

      Totally agree. I’m thinking about selling all my 40k stuff and spend the proceedings on this game!

      If it’s successful, expect the same release and update cadence as 40K.

    Unless my copy is wrong, Ogryns don't have Chain of Command. So they don't need to be supported by a nearby commander in order to charge in and blend away.

      If that is the case, it makes allot of sense as all they can do is blend.

      I zoomed in and Ash’s copy is the same; I just don’t think he noticed. Same for the Sentinels which makes sense for forward deployed scouts.

    I noticed that the audio mixing on these videos is not balanced and favours the left side which is not nice while watching these longer videos

    I will be ditching my ogres in trade for some other things I figure. Also going to run Valkyries instead of Arvus Lighters.

    • @Scuzzlebutt142
      @Scuzzlebutt142 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Valkyries and Vultures are post Heresy for use by the Imperial Army/Guard/Solar Auxilia, only used by Mechanicum during the Heresy, from what I've seen. I don't think people would have issue with seeing them used from Proxies though.

    I still have my original Epic stuff. This looks like a bit of an upscale/upgrade but same basic first fire/advance/charge options? Love the look of this but the price point in NZ will be crippling.

      I think they are a slightly bigger scale..8mm instead if 6? You could easily get away with games with your old epic stuff before new ones come out👍

      @Pacific81x 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If it's any use I have a bunch of classic GW Epic as well as some more vanguard miniatures (who do a range of proxies) and larger/9-10mm 3D prints. I will say the scale difference between the classic GW stuff and modern 9-10mm scale is quite noticeable - if they are in different units and not directly next to each other on the tabletop it is not so bad, but YMMV and it bothers some people more than others.

      A bit late but no.
      There are in the end some featured fully painted army lists so you can see 2-3 different shemes but nothing specific.

    Is there a reason you don't zoom in on the data charts? If you did we could see the minimum size of a detachment, maximun size if a detachment, number of detachments allowed, and costs. It would be a lot more informative, and helpful.in planning purchases.

      Sadly its easier to screen shot the vid than buy the cards, probably not allowed to show it too much, unit cards of other games companies seem to often be hard to harvest too because of this

      No, it means they can only Advance or Flee. They can’t March or Charge.
      So they’re not totally combat ineffective they just operate at a really basic level.

    So no rules for the Stormhammer tank even though they showed it off on Warhammer Community. The stats in the book should have been a separate magazine as now you have a rule book that only contains select profiles, some bits released and other not yet.

      They do have the first content expansion ready to go, it's where drop pods and jet bikes will be, so maybe the storm hammer is part of it.

    • @Pacific81x
      @Pacific81x 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It looks like the game will probably drip-feed new units as part of expansions. I will be honest, something like the Land Raider or Drop Pod probably should have been part of the core game, it feels a bit cheeky on GW's part.

    • @Scuzzlebutt142
      @Scuzzlebutt142 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Army lists should have been everything, and been separate, like the Horus Heresy books.
      I wanna do an armoured company (may suck, but if I want to play infantry, that's what 28mm is for) and kinda wanted to know what I would need for integrated artillery, AA, and such. But gonna have to wait to have it drip fed over the next, what, 4 years, if we're lucky? Going by how they are doing HH, and how they did Aeronautica and Titanicus.
      And iIf the game doesn't do well, it may get dropped before we get full lists for everything.

      Yeah I was pretty hyped up about this game but its been coming down a lot lately.
      Was expecting a full alternating activation game and not having to fiddle with idiotic tokens (just as the travesty of the AI ruleset) when a single generic dial would work a million times better (x-wing style).
      GW is once again all bells and whistles about this overhyped game which they will abandon a few years from now since the sales and interest will decline quickly after this initial release.
