This video is bittersweet considering the recent tragedy going on in Pacific Palisades. That entire area was just absolutely beautiful. I really hope they can bounce back from this tragedy, and rebuild even better than before.
@indrakusnadi6971 Trump warned Newsom to have mitigation measures like removing underbrush and making sure reservoirs are full. He was right. Gavin was wasting time making international trips as governor and not looking after his state.
This was one of the best drives. Lots of great homes, streets that were 1 lane for driving others 2 cars could pass. Lots of different styles of houses, etc. Wonderful drive. Thank you. GOD bless.
@@omwpov yes very nice ocean view and I had to re-watch the Manhattan Beach trip, one of the houses there was featured on a Netflix series that I watched lol 😎
The before of the neighbor was very stunning but now it's all burnt down all that remains of the homes is frames foundations are the trees that manage to survive the horrible fires of California greetings from Ontario Canada thanks for sharing this video
I lived in the Via Bluffs as a small child in the sixties and into a bit of the seventies, in the house on the left at 14:31-14:35, which you can't really see because the camera's pointing forward. So tragic that it's all gone now. But from this drive-through I see that most of my old neighborhood was long gone even before the fire. The small houses and tiny lots had been replaced by enormous houses. But "our" house seems to have still been there, with the brick retaining wall and the ivy-covered white picket fence, although somewhere along the way someone added a direct entrance from the street. (In my day you had to go into the driveway to get to the house). So many memories in that little house and that whole quiet out-of-the-way neighborhood. So strange to see that it had become fashionable.
As someone considering visiting LA in 2025 (from England). I found it encouraging, and refreshing, to view parts of the city that are not full of homeless tents and drug addicts. Those negative videos had all but put me off the idea of visiting. If anyone reads this comment and can offer intelligent, thoughtful and authoritative perspectives on the realities of life in LA today (and California in general, including Ojai) I would very much appreciate reading your perspective. Many thanks in advance.
@@gianniclaud True ... but my reason for visiting is professional, not because of the superficial "glamour" of LA. All very sad though and my heart goes out to everyone who has lost their homes and families who have lost loved ones.
Congratulations on the video, it was excellent, Los Angeles is a wonderful city, I hope to visit one day. I started a channel here on TH-cam recently and record in the same way here in Brazil. I signed up, I will follow you from now on. A big hug !!!🙂
Environment very beautiful . On the otherhand Going To The beach which highways are empty . Really l.would want to be here , 24 hours sun , temperatures and the sea . It is a life Like that l want ❤❤❤❤ sunny days cant finish where in no way . Thanks for your video
There are no fire safety features in this neighborhood - the 1920s-1950s development is obvious. The roads are narrow, the entire neighborhood bottlenecks with only two or three roads having direct access to PCH from the residential area. Despite being a high wildfire risk zone, the neighborhoods are FULL of landscaping and non-native trees like eucalyptus. Old utility lines run through untrimmed trees. Very few homes with the 'defensible spaces' wildfire prevention experts recommend. It's as if the entire development prioritized landscaping and property value over safety...imagine that. Even the houses on the bluff at 5:18...just tons of shrubbery all around. It's as if these people believe they are immune to fire..!
😭 those poor people that lost their homes. Due to the reservoirs being empty.. for maintenance. And not just one reservoir but two. And I'm watching this video I don't see any fire hydrants?? 🤷♀️🙏🇨🇦
Anyone know why there are so many cars parked in the streets, were the homes without driveways and garages? Just wondering. I lived in the 70s on Vandenburg AFB, Traveled to LA and all over California, young and in love away from home while my Husband was in the Air Force, my heart is breaking.
It's all gone now. Insurance refused to insure any of these ones for fire losses last year. Why people stayed is beyond me. I would have immediately moved. Too risky.
@@omwpov I was slowly working my way through all your videos but now there is no play all option on the "videos" section. It's not just your channel either, others have lost the option to play through all videos.
Beauty like this owned by the middle class and upper middle class; passed down lovingly from generation to generation.....with the uber rich surrounding it and looking at it longingly, you think they were going to let it last indefinitely?
I'd rather take residence in heaven with Jesus than gain the world yet lose my soul. We can't take none of these worldly possessions with us. I'd rather set my eyes on Jesus now and live with Him & all my loved ones in heaven some day. I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose on the third day & is seated at the right hand of God. Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. He loves us and died that we may have everlasting life in heaven with Him. Earthly possessions are mere idols. Let us pick up our crosses and worship Jesus. Seek Him and you shall be found, He never left you. I love you guys🪽🤞🏽🫂💖😇🙏🏽💪🏽

It is indeed. Crazy how much the fires spread and destroyed. ❤

A most beautiful part of the California coast which we were pleased to travel to some while back. Many thanks for this video Rog Pacific Sunset( LA).

They are next to the water , why they didn't just pump water from the ocean
Although it would have helped to use the sea water. It has salt, and salt is corrosive😮
Better than letting everything turn to ash.
