Typically sheetrock should be hung horizontal, not vertical. This would have prevented you from breaking the sheetrock on the floor when pushing it up against the studs. Top piece first, then bottom piece. Baseboard will cover the 1/2 inch gap!! :) Good job for a do it your-selfer!
My wife and I are going to be walling off a section off our bedroom (which is way too large) and considering doing it ourselves. After watching you do this, I think we may be able too! Your reaction after completion makes me excited to take on the project myself. It must be such a feeling of accomplishment!
Thank you this is what I needed... someone who is in the same boat who has never done it. I was seeing videos of professionals do it perfect..... I needed an imperfect one that is gonna end up like how my wall will.
Let me make a few suggestions - when mudding drywall use an 8" or 12" spatula. also when sanding ceiling or high places, use a drywall wall stick it will make your job easier. great job overall.
As someone who is pretty good at this stuff. I like the honesty of your skill. This stuff is not easy and takes a while to get good at. This is a lot of drywall/mud for your first time, so great job on the effort.
Thankful for people like you who take the time to document your journey with doing DIY. Watching your video has literally demystified the idea of building a wall and given me encouragement to do my own! Thank you bro! 🙏🏾
You did a great job it looks fantastic my husband works in drywall and I been waiting 4yrs for him to put a wall....I'm getting ready to do it myself....it looks amazing 👏
Great job! I bought a fixer upper a few months ago and we are going to build a wall to turn a large bedroom into two smaller ones for each of our kids… it’s inspiring to see others DIY and learn and grow and share both the good and the not so good! You did all the things!!! 🎉🎉
Amazing outcome for a first time DIY guy simple and easy, Like the advice the guys suggested about the drywall horizontal hung instead of Vertical, love that advice because I would have hung it vertical as well. nice job man.
Every video I have watched so far said they do not like installing dry wall because of the sanding and dust gets everywhere, so it appears that you did it right!!! :) This was very helpful, I am considering making an office in one of the many areas of the house we have that just feels like extra wasted space, I appreciate this video and your honesty on the challenge it was for you - you made it look easy though! Nice job!!!
Looks great!!!!!!! I’m learning in TH-cam to be able to do it myself this summer :) I hope it wouldn’t bee too difficult for me just because I’m a lady ;)
Well done! Finished product looks great. Going to tackle a similar project soon. I like your figure it out as you go approach. A pro in the making. Cheers!
good to see ur satisfaction in the job and it went pretty well i think. i wd have put rockwool inside the wall just for sound reduction and insulation.
I’ve been wanting to build an gym in my house but thought it would be too expensive to get someone to do it. Thanks for giving me the confidence to be able to try it myself. You’re definitely getting a new subscriber! By the way, how much would you say this project cost you?
Did so good! I figured it woulda been insulated, but guess it’s not necessary being it’s inside already. I’m a first timer as well. Trying to build a wall in garage to make a work shop. Doesn’t seem too hard
Brother great job. Looks outstanding. I also have never done something like that but after watching I’m so taking on this challenge. Thanks for sharing. And I’ve also read some helpful comments. 👍🏼
Did you use drywall tape Over the joints????. If not, then the mud will cracks eventually and it will reveal every single butt-joint that you mudded. Great job with the framing by the way.
Excellent professional looking work! Seriously looking to build a wall to partition my dinning room from the living room bcos I use the dinning for my home office and I suck at DIY
Great job just wondering why you did not add insulation? A lot of times I see these vids they add insulation. Is it just for the roof and exterior walls?
hi love your video i like those stud plates you got . do i have to put them on both sides top and bottom or is it ok how you did it how does it feel strength wise?
What did you use to cut the sheetrock and the furring to make it fit ? and also what's the name of the paste you use to cover the holes and make it flat? and what kind of tape is that after covering the holes? Thanks
I cut the sheetrock with a simple box cutter, I used a miter saw to cut the furrings. To cover the holes I used all purpose joint compound. The tape is regular paper drywall joint tape.
That’s great advice. Thank you.
Yea he does do good work and he's a hella nice guy too you can tell...Peace
Thanks for the tips😅
In the UK it is hung vertically. Less waste.
I learned that you hang them horizontally from my ex-husband. I think you did an amazing job tho

Thank you for watching. You are right, I didn’t see the need to insulate being its inside already. Good luck on your project.
It's not good, it's AMAZING!!!
Well done, very proud of you.
Certainly going to do mine. Carol from the United Kingdom x
Thank you. Good luck on yours.
Using that little putty knife made your job much harder, I’m in no way an expert but a larger trowel would help a lot. Great job, thanks. 😊
Thanks for the advice. I actually thought of that after I finished. 😂
Brother great job. Looks outstanding. I also have never done something like that but after watching I’m so taking on this challenge. Thanks for sharing. And I’ve also read some helpful comments. 👍🏼

You should have put some insulation in there for noise and warmth
Thank you for your comment . It’s just a separation wall, I didn’t think I needed it.
Yeah that's fair enough, you know your own home :) and what it needs
Thanks for the video man!
Thank you for watching.

Wonderful job!
Thank you 🙏🏾
That's awesome 😎
Thank you.
good work
Thanks for the visit
can you tell me what kind of nails and drill required to still base plate on tile floor? As I have the same floor as yours
My floor is vinyl. I used concrete nails and an impact drill.
Awesome
Thank you.
WoW!!
You did a good job? Love it
Thank you.
This is brilliant thank you
Thank you for watching!
Will it be sound proof? Just wondering?
No it is not.
how much did it cost in all approximately? and how much does professionals charge for same project ?
I’m not sure how much professionals charge, but it cost me around $500.00
You snapped 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you.
when you are attaching the studs to the Ceiling, can you just drill the screw right in or do you need to locate the studs in the floor above?
That depends on which way the ceiling studs run. It’s always good to locate everything before you start nailing though.
Does this increase the value of the home?
I have not gotten it appraised but I believe so.
Great job! You can start doing this as a business! Go and make you some money and become independent. Peace and blessings to you.
Thank you so much!
Looks great man.
Thanks!
What it all the material you used for build the all room I want to do it too
Everything shown in the video.
hi love your video i like those stud plates you got . do i have to put them on both sides top and bottom or is it ok how you did it how does it feel strength wise?
Thank you. You put the bottom ones on one side, and the tops on the other side. The strength feels great!
My toxic trait is thinking I can do this on my first try hahaha gj man
You got it.
Good job
Thanks
Good job man
Thank you
Do you need a permit for the wall
What was the cost of material for how much squared feet?
I did not calculate everything but it did not cost $600.00
Why not close it from that small corridor??
Woow bro
Thank you 🙏🏾
I wanted to see you apply the trim :(
Thanks for watching. Maybe next time.
This looks nice. How much did this cost you to do?
Between $400.00 to $600.00.
What did you use to cut the sheetrock and the furring to make it fit ? and also what's the name of the paste you use to cover the holes and make it flat? and what kind of tape is that after covering the holes? Thanks

@@diyelie Thank you for all the answers.
GOOD JOB FAM. PEACE
Thanks 🙏🏾
Good job bro👍💪🇳🇱
Thank you so much 😀
Any permit to add a wall for an additional room inside my home?
Check with you city.
wait until you have to remodel an entire house from straight demo level :) good work though
That’s sounds like a lot of work. Thank you.
can you please listed the material that you used ? Thank you.
Unfortunately as I was doing it, I didn’t keep track of all the materials needed.
Nothing in between the sheet rock??
It’s an inside wall, I didn’t see the need to.
👍👍👍
🇺🇸🇩🇴🇺🇸🇩🇴
What about insulation ?
It’s just an inside separation wall, no insulation needed.
if u are taking louder in that room can i hear to other side of the room? asap
Yes you can.
Do you not need insulation due to it being inside the house already ?
I’m not sure sure if it should be insulated. However, been that it’s jus a separation wall, I didn’t think it needed it.
he forgot the Insulation!!.
It’s just an inside wall. I didn’t think insulation was necessary.
