@@paullara7224 Saying Dre is not a rapper is incredibly fucking stupid. He absolutely rapped with NWA. He released The Chronic in 1992 and 2001 in 1999, both incredible albums that influenced the whole genre. He is featured as a rapper on so many amazing songs. The reason he is such a good producer of rap music is because of his incredible reputation and talent as a rapper.
This honestly proves that culture is more important than skin color. It is WILD to me how many young black reactors are completely out of touch with the black music they're reacting to. I saw one the other day, where they listened to the whole damn Tracy Chapman song "Fast Car", where one of the lyrics says "I work in the market as a checkout girl", and he STILL called Tracy "him" through the whole video. XD I have been watching reacts to Hozier's "Nina Cried Power", and almost every reactor has no idea who Hozier is talking about in the song, though he's name-dropping musicians who were instrumental in the civil rights movement. Several have been like, "Who's Nina?" I feel like I'm in a fucking clown car. Someone get these kids some culture and knowledge!
Dr Dre has been a rapper since the 80s. He started in a group of DJ's called the World Class Wreckin Crew and then helped form NWA with Eazy-E ice cube MC Ren and DJ Yella. Then he started Death Row records with Suge Knight. After he left Death Row he started Aftermath and signed Eminem not long after
I mean, at first, he wasn't as much of a rapper as he was a DJ and a producer. Ren and Ice wrote most of the lyrics for NWA. I don't think he rapped on ANY tracks with WCWC, and he only really started writing more once he joined Death Row and dropped The Chronic. I'm nit-picking a bit, and someone might prove me wrong, but he wasn't really "rapping" much until the 90s.
@@yeshevishman he absolutely rapped on WCWC tracks. And never said he did the writing, but he was rapping on 7 of the tracks from Straight Outta Compton, all of them on 100 Miles and Running and most of Efil4Zaggin. He was actually rapping on less of the Chronic (only 7 of 16 tracks have a verse from Dre)
Super disappointed this guy didn't choose to do his homework (or pretended he didn't). Unsubscribing, such a disappointment. First couple reaction vids were awesome but he lost his charm.
It made me sad for what music has become for these younger generations. They have no clue who the greats were in the past. When I was younger I knew of all of the ones before my time. These kids don’t know about NWA? 🙄
@@BoneFromTheDale I was just thinking about that yesterday. When I was little, my parents listened to everything in our house, from Pink Floyd to the Jackson 5. Heavy metal, disco, soul, country, everything! And then we kids added in pop, rap, alternative, etc. As an adult now, I know SO much music, and am grateful that I was raised with such variety. I get so many references and know so much music that was culturally important to so many people. Definitely expanded my horizons. Sometimes I talk to other people or watch reacts on TH-cam, and I'm astounded at how clueless people are. Just living in a little bubble.
Fun fact... Eminem wrote the whole song Inc. Dre side... an yes dre is actually a rapper too... one in the legendary N.W.A ence Em makes the ref to NWA on this song
@@jeremyrhansen6637 yeah you can, he hasnt written all of them but the majority. its easy to tell whch ones if you listen. Or you could cheat and just look at the writing credits lol
Eminem wrote this whole song. That’s why the lyrics are so tight. I believe he actually wrote it for Dre and Snoop to record Edit: apparently he says this at the end of the vid, I didn’t watch it to the end, I commented on it as I was watching the video. I know Em wrote it cos I can remember from the time, I didn’t hear it from this vid
@@VERTICILE Definitely keep doing what you're doing! If I just straight wanted to listen to the song I'd go listen to the song or even pull out my old CDs and do it. I watch these because it's funny to me to see you have the exact same reactions to these songs that we all did 20+ years ago when they were new.
“Slim Shady, hotter than a set of twin babies, in a Mercedes Benz with the windows up when the temp goes up to the mid 80s” One of the most brutal lines ever when you think of the story behind it.
1:34 you literally made me hold my breath. I was born early 80’s and like grew up with Dre rapping. For you to say this makes me hurt inside. I didn’t realize he was such a prominent producer until Eminem lol. Thought he just squirreled away all his millions o dollars to live the good life. Wiiiild.
I'm almost 40 and I literally spit my drink out at that point 😂 I never heard a single NWA song for my entire childhood and yet I still knew Dr. Dre was a rapper... but I guess it's just cultural absorption at a certain point? lololol I was wheezing, I can't wait until he hears Straight Outta Compton
I don’t know why, but, it’s satisfying to have ones taste validated by the youth 😂 it’s like my own father sharing Pink Floyd albums with me, I believe he felt the same way
Dr. Dre was with N.W.A. back in the day. He was mostly always a producer. Ice Cube wrote most of the lyrics especially Dre's. Dre does not write his own lyrics. I'm not trying to diss him at all. I love Dre. Just speaking facts. Eminem writes all of Dre's lyrics in any song that they have done together. His voice, the fact he's from N.W.A. and, his delivery of other people's lyrics is perfect.
i remember this song coming out and yes, it was everywhere on the radio and MTV, same with "the real slim shady" "cleaning out my closet" "my name is" and "the way i am" those songs were on rotation for a looooong time
"Does dre rap or is he just a producer that's good at rapping"??? Bro dre is the OG of gangsta rap. How can you not know about NWA and the shit they went through? Dre and NWA is kinda THE REASON you can say whatever you want on a record. Yeah....Dre raps bro....he's kinda the godfather of modern gangsta rap.
@@shanedoherty4698without Dre gangsta rap doesn’t blow up like it did. He made the NWA. He made Tupac. He made Eminem. Were they gonna be good without him? Yes. But they wouldn’t have been what they became without him. Same goes for Snoop.
@@BoneFromTheDale yeah I like Dre but to say he’s the godfather of gangsta rap is a bit much when he wasn’t really a rapper. Brilliant producer. He made Tupac? Tupac joined death row just before Dre left they only made one song together?
Just discovered you yday and all I've done is sit here watching your Eminem vids because your reactions are adorable and so pure and wholesome. I'm 38 so was listening to Em since i was a kid and I'm loving watching someone hearing his stuff for the first time. Keep on doing everything exactly the way you've been doing it.
You need to delve down the NWA path, young blood. That was the breakout group for Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Eazy-E, and MC REN. All greats in their own regard. They were the part of the original Gangsta Rap genre.
The magazine scene goes over a lot of people's heads nowadays, but back then that was peak video editing, like hows the picture moving in the magazine on some Harry Potter shh
@@VERTICILEstill so excited for eminem - the ringer🎉🎉 eminem disses pretty much everyone in that one. Mumble rappers got it the worst😂 eminem wrote forgot about dre
You know what a reference track means right. Have you not seen the comments and the live chat how everyone says Eminem wrote the song. He wrote the whole thing. Eminem laid a reference track with Dre and snoop in mind for the song. Dre liked the way it sounded and kept it with Eminem instead of snoop. All Dre’s parts were first rapped by Eminem. All Dre had to do was record his vocals instead. The track was already laid out with the lyrics and flow. He didn’t probably teach him how to rap that way. He wrote it that way for him to rap. Same thing with still Dre. Jay z wrote the whole song and flow for Dre and snoop to rap. They are called references tracks. Look them up. Sure you can find songs out there that were written for someone else to sing
first video of yours ive seen, randomly popped up today, i heard the comment about pausing talking etc all i will say is this is YOUR reaction process it however you want we have all seen and heard it before so just do you brother
You know I’m probably like many 30+s year old fellas that watched a few your videos in one sitting, and i know we all got recommendations and songs or albums to listen too but the little intricacies you pick up gives me hope for the future. You a real music lover.
You're a W my guy, great reactor lmao, found your channel randomly and boom, straight up vibed with you. Keep up the good work, fake or not, its entertaining which is what it should be in the first place so i dont understand haters anyway, keep pumping out that juicy content, i was super on my toes about this one lmao, good vid.
I am 37, been listening to Em since 1999 and it's a gem in my life. I feel like without him I wouldn't live that much. His song, his characther, helped me a lot in dark times even bright times! He's very nice guy. I like it! I like your reactions. For me it is good to see reaction of someone who actually is from USA, know English. I am from the CZech Republic and when I was 15 I couldn't get many of his lyrics properly. WIth you it's kind of refreshing. HOw old are you? I am amazed how come that you've never heard him before. Keep up' thanks.
People sub for you , keep it real it's appreciated. Do whatever is genuine to you and you'll rock it. I'd look to comments for suggestions and let the negative people start their own channels ❤
I LOVE watching you discover this for the 1st time. And you are right this was PLAYED EVVRRYYWHHEERRREEE OKAY!? This WAS the millennium of aftermath and Dre did give rap back and its never been the same.
I love your genuine reactions my dude, this video is one of the milestones for me that made me get obsessed with Eminem. What a legendary video. Oh, and nah I understand why you said Dre went toe to toe, but even here it wasn't even close. I think only Kendrick, J Cole and Joyner can do that.
lol I'm watching you because your reactions are gold and exciting to me. Otherwise I would watch someone else because there are plenty out there. Please keep doing what you're doing!
Im 43. Been a fan of Eminem since ALMOST day one. Did not know of him for the Infinite album. Thats one to check out. Hardnto find tho. It was pretty much Detroit area he would hand out. I gather. I love watching your reactions because its all new to you. You are young and was not around back when these songs came out. His new stuff is just as good in my opinion I just foundnyour channel a few minutes ago. Good content! Keep rockin'!
Love this guys reaction vids. Been a fan of Em from day1 and it’s great to see people still discovering his tracks. Only criticism is you need to look into some of the earlier rap history…NWA gave us Dre. Much love from the UK
One of my FAVES & I have many. So difficult to just choose one. Never got sick of listening to this track even though I've been blasting it in to my eardrums every day since 1999. Always gets me in a good mood. Just stick on my headphones & go out for a walk or shopping, whatever I have to do but I do so by blaring this til my eardrum nearly bleed from the vibration from the speakers & I rap along not giving an absolute Fck about who's listening! 😊
Man what a great song! Love this song. Actually the albums tight too. Chronic 2001, another classic album. Detroit what, Detroit what! Detroit baby! Facts everyone was bumpin this song.
Em was just different back then ... his voice and delivery was so raw and his timing was flawless. Just nasty. This is my favorite rap song of all time. 🔥
I can't even imagine growing up without Eminem and Dr. Dre. I was born in 1993 and we would come home from school and just sit and listen to these CDs every day. And yes, that means I was a 6-7 year old white kid listening to fucking Dr Dre and Eminem lol. I have had every word of this song memorized for 20+ years now
dre is one of the great rappers. He has always been an amazing story teller and the main reason why he clicked so well with slim. Greatness recognizing greatness.
One of the best rap songs ever made for sure, the nostalgia alone, that whole Chronic 2001 album was amazing and got played on repeat back then. "Still D.R.E." is on that same album.
Dr dre album "chronic" was the first gangsta rap that hit mainstream. MTV video days. He introduced the world to snoop dog. Who had nate dog on his debut album. All huge names made the hood and rap to mainstream. Before chronic was NWA. Dre was quietly producing until he found eminem and blew the world up again. He's a legend. Dre.
I recommend checking out the music group D12, which was founded in Detroit in 1996 and to which Eminem belonged for 22 years. Songs such as „My band”, „Purple pills”, „Fight music”

make my bud the Chronic, I wants to get -
Dr Dre has been a rapper since the 80s.
I'm old enough to remember the WCWC "I'm the real doctor that is final, all you other suckers are made of vinyl"
simpler times spitting bars 😆
I'm actually shocked that he asked if DRE was a rapper.
Super disappointed this guy didn't choose to do his homework (or pretended he didn't). Unsubscribing, such a disappointment. First couple reaction vids were awesome but he lost his charm.
"Was Dre a rapper?" This line made me feel so old.
It made me feel like there was a parental fail, and it was not my own. XD
Ancient.
God, me too 😢
It made me sad for what music has become for these younger generations.
I feel like you can always pick out when Dre verses are written by Em... Not always even with Em on the track!
@@jeremyrhansen6637definitely, you can feel it in the rhyme schemes
@@jeremyrhansen6637 yeah you can, he hasnt written all of them but the majority. its easy to tell whch ones if you listen. Or you could cheat and just look at the writing credits lol

Eminem wrote this whole song. That’s why the lyrics are so tight. I believe he actually wrote it for Dre and Snoop to record
Edit: apparently he says this at the end of the vid, I didn’t watch it to the end, I commented on it as I was watching the video. I know Em wrote it cos I can remember from the time, I didn’t hear it from this vid
That’s what I heard too.
yeah but once snoop heard em on it he gave it up
It's almost like he said this exact thing at the end 🙄
yep but Dre wanted eminem on it instead of snoop
yeah he literally says that at the end of the video
"Everybody was playing this" bro we still play this song till this day
Every time we get in the car my son says.. daddy put on forgot about dre and the answer will always be Yes. Everytime.

Don't listen to anyone, keep up with being YOU, that's why I watch and subscribed to your channel!
thank you bro
@VERTICILE For what it's worth I definitely agree with this comment...We subscribed to YOU for YOU, what you're doing is obviously working.
@VERTICILE No problem bro!
“Slim Shady, hotter than a set of twin babies, in a Mercedes Benz with the windows up when the temp goes up to the mid 80s”
One of the most brutal lines ever when you think of the story behind it.
"This is why I ignore everybody and do what the fuck I wanna do."
That's the way to do it. Respect.
This reaction was hotter than a set of twin babies 🔥

1:34 you literally made me hold my breath. I was born early 80’s and like grew up with Dre rapping. For you to say this makes me hurt inside. I didn’t realize he was such a prominent producer until Eminem lol. Thought he just squirreled away all his millions o dollars to live the good life. Wiiiild.
I felt violated
Bro I am a 90s kid and I'm just like... this youngster needs to check out nwa
@@harpo7879 He's been schooled now!! We shouldn't hold his youth against him (well, maybe a little. Lol).
Lmfao, I'm 38 and I also was stunned by that haha Jesus I'm old 😂
I don’t know why, but, it’s satisfying to have ones taste validated by the youth 😂 it’s like my own father sharing Pink Floyd albums with me, I believe he felt the same way
"was dre a rapper before he produced?" bruuuh, cant wait for you to react to some of the NWA classics lol. he's beeeeen cold since before we was born
To be fair Dre barely rapped in NWA. I think the only song he rapped on was Express Yourself. He was primarily a producer/dj.
1:29 DAFUQ you just SAY!? Kids man. Unbelieveable.
My favourite thing about VERTICLE, is he embodies everything from his brain to his mouvements so fluently
Dre is a rap royalty
That you had to ask if Dre rapped before becoming a producer 😂😂😂. Not heard of NWA? I'm a White 40 year-old and I'm dying! 😂😂😂
When you asked WTF are u?!!!
Hitman: "Hitman at your service~"
Still sad that Hitman never got to drop an album.
Dre kept up with Em because Em wrote his part for him lol
Yep, he said that at the end, if you would have watched that far.
@@sethranney wrote my comment before I heard him say it. But thank you for letting me know
I was coming to the comment section to say the exact same thing. Lol
i remember this song coming out and yes, it was everywhere on the radio and MTV, same with "the real slim shady" "cleaning out my closet" "my name is" and "the way i am" those songs were on rotation for a looooong time
"Does dre rap or is he just a producer that's good at rapping"??? Bro dre is the OG of gangsta rap. How can you not know about NWA and the shit they went through? Dre and NWA is kinda THE REASON you can say whatever you want on a record. Yeah....Dre raps bro....he's kinda the godfather of modern gangsta rap.
Omg, I need Gen Z to do research before they make these statements! 🤦🏽♀️
I was so shocked by that question I had to pause the video and come to the comments.
I'm still a bit stunned tbh.
A bit over the top mate. He was mainly a producer. Never wrote any raps
I love this!
Thank you for your excitement and reaction, you made me remember watching this for the first time and the pure joy if it!
Em wrote Dre’s lyrics for this
Yep, he said that at the end, if you would have watched that far.
Noooo when u pause it it shows how good his lyrics are that they set u aback in amazement. SHOWS UR TRUE APPRECIATION FOR THE ART
Eminem - No Apologies.

Dre comes straight outta Compton..lol. He was in World Class Wreckin' Crew and N.W.A. back in the day
I love that young folks are finding the good stuff. I love watching all of you enjoy and get excited about Eminem.
Eminem wrote this whole song. That’s why the lyrics are so tight.
Im 34. I have a 2 yr old. I should have been asleep 2 hours ago at least, but watching these reactions is the most fun Ive had in awhile. Thank you.
There is a whole section of Em’s verse cut out of the music video during the news segment. In case you’re interested in hearing the whole thing.
Yes we were alllll bumping this song… the best way I can explain it, is Em melted our faces off.

Eminem wrote this song thats why you're lovin the rhymes
Hey man you're my favorite reactor You're completely real on your reaction And that's really why I like listening to you
Dre's an OG rapper~ started with The Chronic, which he also produced. He has ALWAYS had skin in the game 🔥🔥🔥❤
at the beginning of the song where Dre rap... Eminem probably taught him the way to rap... the flow
I refuse to believe anyone aged over like 5 years old hasn't heard forgot about dre
Dre was a pioneer of west coast rap with the group NWA in the early 90s long before he produced.
first video of yours ive seen, randomly popped up today, i heard the comment about pausing talking etc all i will say is this is YOUR reaction process it however you want we have all seen and heard it before so just do you brother
You know I’m probably like many 30+s year old fellas that watched a few your videos in one sitting, and i know we all got recommendations and songs or albums to listen too but the little intricacies you pick up gives me hope for the future. You a real music lover.
1995-2005 was the best era of rap

He's very nice guy. I like it! I like your reactions. For me it is good to see reaction of someone who actually is from USA, know English. I am from the CZech Republic and when I was 15 I couldn't get many of his lyrics properly. WIth you it's kind of refreshing. HOw old are you? I am amazed how come that you've never heard him before. What a legendary video.
Oh, and nah I understand why you said Dre went toe to toe, but even here it wasn't even close. I think only Kendrick, J Cole and Joyner can do that.

this single came out in 1999 for the Dr.Dre's album 2001 which is a classic
what makes a timeless track is not a quick beat and random words that sound alike. They used to actually work in the studios back in the days...
Love watching your reaction videos. Funny AF watching the youth discover shit we know was already hot
Man keep doing these reactions. You are one of my favourite em reactors.
don’t ever stop with the reactions
This album was massive. The chronic tour that followed was one of the best tours I've ever been to in my life..... and I've been to a LOT of concerts
That whole Chronic 2001 album was banging!!!
Ignore them dude, you are reacting great. Keep it up!
The fact you don't get all of the references and still love it shows how good this is.
Funny thing is the edited version was played on the radio. I remember this when I was in middle school or younger.

Your reactions are great! Don't stop, but My mom and cleaning out my closet for learning the Mom lore
I can't even imagine growing up without Eminem and Dr. Dre. I was born in 1993 and we would come home from school and just sit and listen to these CDs every day. Dre.
Hahahahha this is one of my favorite songs and I’ve seen this video a million times but never noticed Em looking at her booty 😂
I recommend checking out the music group D12, which was founded in Detroit in 1996 and to which Eminem belonged for 22 years. Songs such as „My band”, „Purple pills”, „Fight music”
Want my opinion? I think you are killing it, keep doing what you’re doing.
