the aim assist algorithm is made for analog sticks, if we compare analog stick walking to keyboard walking it goes like this: on an analog stick you peg the stick from the center to the side, this takes lets say 100 milliseconds. during those 100 milliseconds the activation percentage of the button will increase from 0 to 100% over 100 milliseconds, so one percent every millisecond. this will make your ingame character slowly accelerate in his movement. with a keyboard it works differently. when you press down your WASD buttons, the keyboard will send 100% activation the moment the button is activated as well. there is no progressive acceleration from 0 to 100% from physically pegging the stick. instead the activation is instant, console games and especially the aim assist do not know this behaviour and therefore the aim assist will not work with this. now imagine doing a strafe movement with A and D (left, right) while you are aiming on the target. whenever you change your direction the character movement is so instant (100% activation) that the aim assist is shortly canceled out by this. this is why analogstick movements will give more aim assist. let me know if this was understandable, i have stickied this as more people might have this question :)
Is there any way this was proven? And if this is the case is there any way I can make it so that when I click WASD it goes from 0%-100% a couple of milliseconds slower?
as for your first question, common will in most games give the better mouse movements compared to off. same goes for default. those two are the best synchronization values, overall you will get a better accuracy with those and therefore your skill should be higher/better
as for the second question. yes you just have to play 1-2 games with your controller in the left hand and mouse in the right compared to a keyboard in the left and mouse in the right. the aim assist is noticeably stronger with the analogstick. yes there are ways to make your WASD go from 0 to 100% in a certain time, eg the titan two will soon have suich a script that you have to buy though. xim link will also have such a script. (its not possible to achieve this without a script unless you want to mod your keyboard)
4k dpi. Using a g403 mouse, xim apex, 1k polling rate. Games like cod, fortnite, and overwatch. Jitter was complete gone after lowering my dpi from 12k.

With trying both pc and Xim Apex, I’ve found it significantly easier to aim on pc. Even with aim assist on Xim, everyone thinks it’s overpowered and unfair, when really pc normally is still better. I turned off the aim assist on the Xim and it was IMPOSSIBLE to aim. And I’m aware that this is because the controller movements are emulated, but people still say they manage to pull it off. Is there a reason for this?
Which game are you playing and how do your xim settings look like? Not every game plays the same, some games such as RB6 Siege or GTA5 have a terrible aim mechanic that just doesnt allow the XIM to grant a PC feeling, on the other hand a falsely setup XIM config can produce the same problem. It might also help to know why you couldnt aim at all without aim assist, such as was the sensitivity too fast or was there too much mouse stutter?
XIMGameplay I’m sure my sensitivity isn’t too fast, as I’ve tried many that other people use along with my own. I’m not sure if it’s just me being on xbox or the fact that I use a tv instead of a monitor, but I can only hit shots with aim assist. Right now I play Overwatch with a 21 hip sens on default and play with a 5 aim assist window size, but when I turn it off it is exceptionally difficult and inconsistent, when I can easily do so on normal pc.

Hey, XIM Apex actually has a ton of new exclusive features that are worth to upgrade, most noticeably are the up to 1000hz mode for even more precise and direct mouse movements and the two new features synchronization on smoothing. Especially those three allow you to increase your mouse performance quite a bit over the xim4, you can tweak the aim assist behaviour with those or the general responsiveness of your mouse movements. There are also lots of other new features, you can find a comparison list between the two in the xim forums.Now as to your other question. the xim4 doesnt allow that many customization knobs for fortnite but what i would recommend you is to reduce your dpi to 3000-4000 for a better aim assist behaviour and on top of that, if you find that the aim assist is too sticky use some boost (in increments of 50) to counter the aim assist.I wouldnt use a curve in fortnite, the game heavily relies on muscle memory for building and a curve will work against that.
Bullet magnetism doesnt really matter, thats true. I still mentioned it in the video as its one of the most common aim assist methods which you cannot really increase or reduce in its strength. And yes Halo games are one of the best examples for bullet magnetism games.

on the new call of duty modern warfare my aim assist is a bit weird right now when I'm aiming at people running and I'm tracking them it's always following behind them. Is there anyway I can change it so it follows the actual person instead of right behind them? I messed around with boost and steady aim a lot at nothing seems to help even when I put it to drastic numbers

Imagine if 2 Xim players join the same game in mw3 (or any cod). One is using settings to decrease AA. And one is using settings to increase AA. Who's gonna win depending on aim and accuracy? Who as the advantage?
If positioning and everything is equal and its just about aim, then the person who feels more comfortable with their settings. The thing is less or more aim assist is a personal preference, some people are better with aim assist while others are better without. You need to find out what works best for yourself, with those settings you will then play much better :). Id recommend to play a week without/decreased aim assist and then a week with aim assist (maybe even increased). That way you can tell the best with what you get the best ingame results.

That looks like a good setup, id probably remove the smoothing though and add it in later after your first few games. That way you can test if you like the effect of smoothing. Slower sensitivities will give more aim assist, in CoD the aim assist is so strong though you can also run mid/high sensitivities and have a noticeable aim assist.
Yes that would result in quite a lot of aim assist. One thing you can do on top of that is to eg adjust your mouse DPI, try something around 3000 DPI for more aim assist.
If you want to increase or decrease the aim assist with a ballistic curve then ask yourself where you want to increase or remove the aim assist, only for the hip? Only for the ADS? Or maybe for both? In general you can use a curve for both at the same time, it can even be a different curve for each mode if you want that. But i recommend to use the other options first as a ballistic curve has a big influence on your overall mouse movements.
I was trying to increase the AA for Fortnite so it would be for ADS only I think. But I played around with my settings a bit more and I'm pretty satisfied with what have. Polling - 500/500 3500 dpi 15.00 Hip Sens 13.00 ADS Sens Sync - Common Smoothing - 8 P.S - What do you think is the absolute lowest REASONABLE Xim Sensitivity you can have for Fortnite? That sounds like a really good config setup, i wouldnt recommend to use a curve on top of that :). As for your other sensitivity question, dont think in xim sensitivities but in distance on the mousepad for a 360° turn. Most Pro players use around 30-45cm per 360° turn on the mousepad when doing a slow mouse movement. Id say this range is a reasonable mouse sensitivity. With 3500 dpi and HIP 12 you should be in this range, so yes it sounds like a great sensitivity. If you want to test which mouse sensitivity gives you the best accuracy then you can try the following xim tutorial, however its purely based on aiming (and not building). question I think I saw a push to talk feature before in a tutorial if I was gonna use my mic that is a wired USB do I plug it into my second console USB port and would it work? or how

First off yes you can use the xim to play with a controller only, however the features you see in this video are currently only active for the mouse and keyboard. Porting those feature over to the controller is one of the things that have been discussed already. What you can do in the meantime is for example to play with a mouse in the right hand and a sony navigation controller in the left hand, thats the closest controller experience that you can get while using those xim features shown in this video.

oh ok, this means your keyboard isnt made to send several keyboard inputs at once. its called keyboard rollover. eg a keyboard rollover of two, called 2kro, means your keyboard can only send 2 buttons at the same time, means when you hold down two buttons and you press a third key this key will either be ignored or will activate with a delay. you might need a new keyboard, the xim cannot fix this as its a limitation of the keyboard. alternatively bind less buttons to your keyboard so you are less likely to press several keyboard keys at once.
Yes the sensitivity will be different then. Do the following, measure your cm per 360° turn on the mousepad with a ruler on sync default. Do slow mouse movements for this. Then switch to sync common and adjust your xim sensitivity as often as necessary until you do the 360° turn with the same cm distance on the mousepad (again slow mouse movements). That way you get the same sensitivity as with default.
I need to sell my Razer naga hex v2 and get a g502... I set 2 dpi stages in synapse yet go onto my xbox with it and boooooom it has 5 again? I'm guessing the mid one is 4,500 dpi so I'm using that but not being able to use 4k dpi on Xbox is really annoying.. if my mouse had on board memory like a g502 is it possible to run macros on Xbox with the apex?
this sounds like your razer mouse doesnt have onboard memory, means all your adjustments are only active when the mouse is connected to the pc. once you plug it to the xim it runs the default settings again (5 dpi stages?) yes with a mouse like the g502 you can save macros on it and use them with the xim and your consoles. the macro cannot be that complex though as the logitech gaming driver doesnt allow to programm very complex macros.
jamie gregory I’m a Razer fan but, in my experience, Logitech works better. Very smooth and more stable. I used razer mamba since Xim4 and with Apex and sometimes mouse freezes...shut down lights, used powered usb hub but never solved troubles. Now since I’m using G502, I’ve never had problems and I’m playing like a charm.
@@elnitzo5073 For Battlefront 2 i think the best aim assist settings are when you go into the game options and turn off the aim slowdown. There are two aim assist options, one this the target lock and the other one will slow down your mouse when you are on the target. This mouse slowdown will reduce your accuracy and muscle memory, i would turn it off for even better results :). The aim assist target lock feature is all you need.

Hey, at the moment those xim settings only work for mouse and keyboard and not the controller. So you cannot increase the aim assist of the controller with a xim right now.
XIMGameplay I go to the description click on the one that says less auto aim copy the curve paste in the xim manager and nothing happens and this is with the apex
the curve you see in the video is a lot higher than the one in the video description, so you can actually see the difference in the video. the curve in the video is too extreme though, if you look at the new curve in the discription very closely you can see that its slightly above the graph. if the boost effect is too low then increase the curve a little bit more. (the one in the video is 8 values higher, the one in the video description is 1 value higher) the best curves are those that you hardly notice yet do what they should, in this case lower the aim assist.
Is it just me or does anyone play with 50.0 ads and 50.0 hip, otherwise its mostly way too slow, tryed it in D2 with slower hip and ads, but was hardly playable to track opponents for me..
XIMGameplay on pc dpi is 8000, but its a cable mouse and im not sure its saved the dpi to the mouse when i plug in to xim apex and then to the ps4.. i have the Roccat Tyon mouse.
maybe your mouse has no onboard memory so your dpi changes are only active when the mouse is connected to the PC. tell me what synchronization value you use and what your xim sensitivity is (50?), then i can roughly estimate how much DPI your mouse is using right now when it is connected to the xim
Wolvey just buy a logitech g502 mouse or a Razer deathadder. They have 12000 and 16000 DPI respectively, and their sensors are extremely accurate. These both will work best with the xim4 and xim apex.
Hey I got a question please help. I started using the XIM apex on the PS4 Pro playing WW2 with the g403 Gaming mouse and I downloaded and used the WW2 configuration from the app and when I plaid, the left & right clicks were throwing Grenades instead of shooting & aiming. Any fix??? I even mapped them on the app (left-fire) (right-aim) but still they won’t aim and fire
hey, could it be that you use a different controller layout in the game? the xim needs the default controller layout, only then the actions for each button shown in the xim manager are correct.
XIMGameplay yes bro the reason was because I was using a “Flipped” layout and not default. After changing to default it worked. But is it just me or the sensitivity is so slow I even have it at 130 (hip and ads) (dpi is 12k full)
what kind of synchronization value are you using? i recommend you to use common, it gives much better mouse movements and your xim sensitivity will also be lower.
your xim needs to be on this firmware: community.xim.tech/index.php?topic=65630.0 after that go into your global settings in the xim manager and activate the expert mode. then head into your xim game config (editing) and you can find it unter your xim sensitivity (HIP and ADS) when clicking the "..." button

@@slapigr Hey, the sony nav has no influence on the xim sync. So you can use whatever sync you want to to have more or less aim assist. The toggle ADS has to be part of the game, the xim cannot really offer that. So check your game options if it has a toggle function. Toggle doesnt add delay. About your polling rate, 500hz for the mouse and the xim is usually the best.

Hi, I have 2 questions. First one is, is common sync strictly for 60fps gaming? If I am playing a game with over 60fps should I go to default since it's meant for 120fps? And my second question is, do you think that curve would work well for fortnite to increase aim assist after the nerf? Have you tried it out? It seems pretty good and I would really appreciate any suggestions to really tune up the aim assist after the nerf. So far I added 10 smoothing and the ballistic curve and it gives me a nice lock-on, but I am really looking to improve my understanding all the time. The last thing I was going to ask is, SAB adds randomization to WASD movements so that movements are more controller like, but does that affect close range aim assist in Fortnite. I've been looking everywhere to gain a better understanding but I haven't found many places yet. Thanks like always man.
Those snyc-fps recommendations are just guidelines, some 30fps games work best with sync common while certain 60fps games can work best with default. So definitely experiment a bit to find out what you prefer the most. Curves are a mixed bag, while they increase the aim assist they usually also reduce your overall accuracy. You can try the Obsiv Quantization Curve if you want to try a curve though. In most situations the overall gains are close to zero. Therefore i would recommend you to use SAB, which as you already assumed changes how you interact with the aim assist while your character is in motion.
@@fnboss3769 In my oppinion exponential is better due to how it handles the aim assist and how much more consistent it is on faster mouse swipes. So basically in the two most important fields, aiming and building its the better choice imo.

The fuck is this joke? I got banned from Xbox from using this for overwatch. Good thing I have money and said fuck console so I bought a gaming PC. In summary, your product works well but get ready to be banned.
you cannot get banned for using xim, microsoft has stated that they are fully fine with the usage of XIM on their console platform. the overwatch developers arent allowed to ban you, their lead developer jeff kaplan had to admit that a while ago. also the XIM is completely invisible to the console, even if it was bannable no one could identify you using a XIM. if your microsoft account got banned then this is because of a different reason but not due to your XIM.
in both scenarios (you have mouse jitter or you dont) i would go with 3-7 smoothing IF you want to use it. with these values the smoothing is hardly noticeable yet you benefit from it slightly. depending on what game you play and how high your sensitivity is id go like this: - low sensitivity: 3 smoothing - mid sensitivity: 5 smoothing - high sensitivity: 7 smoothing
yeah if you aim with your arm then your sensitivity will be rather low (which is good for the accuracy too), so smoothing 3 should be perfect. the smoothing will be hardly noticeable with your mouse movements but increase the aim assist.
I just started to play whit a xim apex on ps4 pro, my problem is i have to put a very high aim in like 150:00 / 200:00 other whise ist realy slow? I think im doining somthing wrong? Some one can help me?
How much dpi are you using with your mouse? You want to use around 3000-4000 dpi for the best mouse movements with your xim. If you use less than that then you need a higher xim sensitivity in return to maintain a fast turnspeed.
i have a xim apex and im having trouble figuring how to change my curve. the only options im given is to copy and paste. it wont let me draw my own curve
Unfortunately, the Logitech G13 Gameboard mentioned at 7:21 is discontinued. There are similar gamepads (e.g. Razer Tartarus), but I think the G13 was the only one with a true analog thumbstick (the others have 4-way or 8-way switches).
You can still buy it new on ebay, the sony navigation controller is also out of production for a while now and has to be bought from ebay or other stores with remaining stock.

@@Raaavnefar Hey, if there is a button you arent sure where its placed at, then check your XIM Manager to verify. And if you miss certain actions, then look up the controller layout of the game. After that you can check which button you bound to it in your XIM Manager. Other than that, its just practice to get used to your new layout. And you will adapt to it really quickly! :)

@@Raaavnefar Hey, in most cases it is sufficient to pick the PC game. Your game will automatically turn on the controller mode when it sees the XIM. The best synchronization is usually default. For more aim assist i would rather use other adjustment option than synchronization (see my increase/decrese aim assist tutorial video).
With what intention? The aim assist increasement methods dont work for the controller right now (only mouse and keyboard) but you can of course use a xim to play with a controller too. Then you can for example use xbox controllers on playstation and vice versa, or rebind/double bind actions.
@@vampyrX213 Id recommend you to also look into the Titan Two adapter, its more geared towards controller players and offers more features in that regard than the XIM. Titan is more about controllers while XIM is for mouse and keyboard. Both can be used for either of the two though.

if you do all six of those then this will increase the aim assist by a lot, however your mouse movements might get too weird. if you want to make your mouse movements appear more like analogsticks, to benefit from aim assist more, then this usually reduces the quality of your mouse movements a bit. the polling rate and analog stick movement dont really reduce your mouse movements though. i would recommend you to test each of them separately and then slowly add them together.

Can i run XIM Apex withou aim assist? I play Division, Division 2, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Borderlands 2, Horizon 0 Dawn. On the controller I play with no aim assist. I don't have the XIM Apex yet. It's coming next week. Planning to run it with Logitech G502 Hero (12000 DPI 1000 Polling) and a Mad Catz Strike 3 keyboard. Been watching your videos to get an idea of how things work but yea as I mentioned earlier I don't run aim assist on these games.
For as long as a game offers you to turn off the aim assist then yes, you can absolutly play the game without aim assist (which is something a lot of ximmers do). There are however also games which dont have such an ingame option, in that case you can use the xim and mouse features shown in this video to reduce the aim assist to a level where its not (that) noticable anymore.
Okay, just ordered an Xbox One Elite Series 2 Controller, and I'm partial to using a controller as opposed to MnK. Problem is, I don't know where to go to customize my aim assist, walking speed, etc.
With a controller you always have 100% aim assist, you also dont need to configure your walking speed since your analog stick automatically handles that.

So I’ve been going through your videos again and I’m trying to find your curve you showed us. However I can’t find which video I saw it on. It is a curve to help with AA but it won’t hurt muscle memory. I want to say that you move the slider out to 32-34 and then enter 28 something giving the curve a downward dip in it. Can you help me out and let me know the correct numbers for that curve? Thanks.
Hey, i guess you mean the curve i used in my most recent "Competitive OW Config Tutorial" video. I recommended to use it in a few other games too (Apex Legends, ...). Let me know if that is the curve you are referring to! :)
As an arm aimer my sensitivity is pretty low, but I was just wondering if using 7 smoothing instead of 3 would make my performance better because I don't notice the smoothing on either values.
Does the lower polling rate really increase the aim assist? I did not test it out yet im always using 1000hz with 3200 dpi also you said not to go under 500 hz? Why?
Yes it does since your mouse movements are in a way smoothed out. They become less stuttery which works better with the aim assist. If you use less than 500hz you start to add too much delay to your mouse movements and the general mouse movements can start to feel unrepsonsive. You can of course trade responsivenes for more aim assist and go below 500hz if you want to.
Yes it does make a difference! The amount depends on the game though. Start with small values and slowly increment them after each game until you have found your preferred values.

@@alkatraz9171 Yes it also works the same way for MW3 on PC. PC games usually run the console version when connecting a gamepad = XIM. For a gamepad you can continue to use 125-250Hz, there is usually not much gain to go higher since most gamepads dont really support that.
XIMGameplay My mouse is set to 1000hz and I went from 3200 dpi to 12000dpi and there is less mouse stutter and my aim feels better but aim assist is still present playing Paladins. I also tried using a ballistic curve to reduce aim assist but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
Did you try the new boost feature? Its one of the best mechanics to reduce aim assist. Also try out RMLs anti recoil ballistic curve, the problem with curves is that its much easier to accidentally increase the aim aisssist than to reduce it. If you are unsure about the curve then id keep the graph on default. Instead try synchronization default and boost to reduce the aim assist.

instead of making ballistic curves and or changing settings to reduce aim assist why not just turn it off? Can someone tell me the point/purpose. Maybe I'm not getting it
XIMGameplay Yes I do see that but I've seen xim post asking for curves for games that do allow you to deacticate AA, and games that let you disable only a little bit of the AA most people using these curves leave it on. Why is that? is it because they are trying to remove a certain type of AA with a curve, or maybe because they want less AA but not completely remove it cause it's actually beneficial? I'm just trying to figure out if I should completely disable AA for this game or use a curve to reduce it
Oh ok, yes in those scenarios the users usually want to keep a minimal amount of aim assist, or as you said want to reduce/increase a certain aspect of the aim assist behaviour. Aim Assist in general is a personal perference thing, there is not better or worse when increasing or reducing the aim assist. Some people play better with, others without aim assist. Also, while a few games offer the option to deactivate the aim assist this usually doesnt turn off the aim assist completely. Theres still a minor aim assist running in the background, which you eg can reduce even more by using the methods shown in this video.
Default and common usually give the best performance, Off only works well in very specific games tbh. To judge what sync works best for you make very slow mouse movements and check how smooth they are.
Can i add for future info regarding your stutter video keeping good quality cabling between xim hub and controller is key the cable i was using origionally seemed to be working perfectly but unfortunately it was in fact causing some c errors and this lead to micro stutter at any smoothing value

Go ahead a buy Apex. Newest technology. Xim4 is a few years old and all development going towards Apex. It's cheaper than when xim4 came out. I've had many xim products and they keep getting better. New Apex is only about $100... well worth the price.
Since there is no other way to contact you i do it here :D Idk why but when i use my XIM on PC with Controller (Fornite) with the same Settings as i use on Console the Mouse movement feels way more different and slow it feels really weird... any clue why and how to fix it?
You have to make sure that you use the matching config for your controller. If you use an Xbox controller then use the Xbox config profile. Now another reason can be that some game developers use different aim mechanics for the controller on PC so in that case it would definitely feel different (and theres no real way to change that then). Plus the higher and more consistent fps can also make it feel different on PC. Other than that check that your ingame settings are identical.
@@XIMCentral Thanks for the answer. Fortnite has a really weird Controller Mechanic since they got Deadzone settings in... I can do whatever i want mouse movement feels so delayed... and when i use 5% deadzone my mouse starts to jitter when it comes to range fight. When i use 12% Deadzone there is no jitter but the HIP feels very clunky.. Now im using 1000 Hz and 3000 DPI for a nice mouse movement but still jitter when it comes to range fight and less Aim assist ofc. Fortnite is a problem kid for me... Playing on Exponential... but i think Linear would give me a better Mouse feeling since the input is directly? @@Nagunai Exponential has the better mouse movements but the aim assist is not as good as with linear. Look up the recommended xim settings for Fortnite, Xbox and PS have different ingame settings that you have to use and you have to go with the one that matches your controller. Maybe that helps, other than that as i said its not unlikely that the game feels different on PC.
Just bought my xim apex, even though I have a high end gaming pc I wanted to use my keyboard and mouse on console. Do you recommend aim assist on for division 2 console? will it benefit me having aim assist on or off even tho I have played division 2 on pc without aim assist?
Hey, there is no defnitive answer to that questions as some people are better with aim assist and others are better without. Id recommend you to play a few days with aim assist and then do the same but without aim assist, after that you can tell which one worked out better for you :).

The difference between the two is pretty significant, below i have added a link to a comparison sheet. aside from that the used prices for xim4 are still pretty strong, means you can almost sell your xim4 for the price of a xim apex. Here is the list, since this list has been posted the apex has received to more features (smoothing and synchronization). The polling rate depends on your mouse, id recommend you to do a polling rate benchmark to find out what polling rate works best for your mouse. As for the sync, id say common is better but if you want more aim assist use slow.

A lot of people buy the XIM for the PC experience, they dont like aim assist. In some games the aim assist can also be so strong that it gets annoying.

Of course it depends on the game, but for example could Common on Fortnite be better than Default, overall? Depends on the framerate of the game, right? Then I could just change my DPI a little bit to increase/decrease aim assist, what do you think?
every game has a different rate at which it accepts inputs, the different sync values are made to adjust your xim to that. eg if a game is 120hz then default will give the best mouse movements, 60hz for common, 30hz for slow and off is basically as many reports as the xim can send. now both default and common will give the best results, in some games common might be better as the sync is closer to 60hz while in other games itll be closer to 120hz.this is also affected by fps drops which is why common is usually the best overall for mouse movements.

How does using analogue sticks increase AA?
the aim assist algorithm is made for analog sticks, if we compare analog stick walking to keyboard walking it goes like this:
on an analog stick you peg the stick from the center to the side, this takes lets say 100 milliseconds. during those 100 milliseconds the activation percentage of the button will increase from 0 to 100% over 100 milliseconds, so one percent every millisecond. this will make your ingame character slowly accelerate in his movement.
with a keyboard it works differently. when you press down your WASD buttons, the keyboard will send 100% activation the moment the button is activated as well. there is no progressive acceleration from 0 to 100% from physically pegging the stick. instead the activation is instant, console games and especially the aim assist do not know this behaviour and therefore the aim assist will not work with this.
now imagine doing a strafe movement with A and D (left, right) while you are aiming on the target. whenever you change your direction the character movement is so instant (100% activation) that the aim assist is shortly canceled out by this.
this is why analogstick movements will give more aim assist.

as for your first question, common will in most games give the better mouse movements compared to off. same goes for default. those two are the best synchronization values, overall you will get a better accuracy with those and therefore your skill should be higher/better
as for the second question. yes you just have to play 1-2 games with your controller in the left hand and mouse in the right compared to a keyboard in the left and mouse in the right.
the aim assist is noticeably stronger with the analogstick.
yes there are ways to make your WASD go from 0 to 100% in a certain time, eg the titan two will soon have suich a script that you have to buy though. xim link will also have such a script.
(its not possible to achieve this without a script unless you want to mod your keyboard)

What DPI and what game?
4k dpi. Using a g403 mouse, xim apex, 1k polling rate. Games like cod, fortnite, and overwatch. Jitter was complete gone after lowering my dpi from 12k.
Sync for Fortnite?
I use default for all of them. I would try them all and find the right one for you. Sometimes settings may feel different from one user to the next.

With trying both pc and Xim Apex, I’ve found it significantly easier to aim on pc. Even with aim assist on Xim, everyone thinks it’s overpowered and unfair, when really pc normally is still better. I turned off the aim assist on the Xim and it was IMPOSSIBLE to aim. And I’m aware that this is because the controller movements are emulated, but people still say they manage to pull it off. Is there a reason for this?
Which game are you playing and how do your xim settings look like? Not every game plays the same, some games such as RB6 Siege or GTA5 have a terrible aim mechanic that just doesnt allow the XIM to grant a PC feeling, on the other hand a falsely setup XIM config can produce the same problem. It might also help to know why you couldnt aim at all without aim assist, such as was the sensitivity too fast or was there too much mouse stutter?
XIMGameplay I’m sure my sensitivity isn’t too fast, as I’ve tried many that other people use along with my own. I’m not sure if it’s just me being on xbox or the fact that I use a tv instead of a monitor, but I can only hit shots with aim assist. Right now I play Overwatch with a 21 hip sens on default and play with a 5 aim assist window size, but when I turn it off it is exceptionally difficult and inconsistent, when I can easily do so on normal pc.
Yeah, ive had the same results, and it is definately mouse acceleration. Mouse acceleration messes your aim up.

Hey, XIM Apex actually has a ton of new exclusive features that are worth to upgrade, most noticeably are the up to 1000hz mode for even more precise and direct mouse movements and the two new features synchronization on smoothing. Especially those three allow you to increase your mouse performance quite a bit over the xim4, you can tweak the aim assist behaviour with those or the general responsiveness of your mouse movements. There are also lots of other new features, you can find a comparison list between the two in the xim forums.Now as to your other question. the xim4 doesnt allow that many customization knobs for fortnite but what i would recommend you is to reduce your dpi to 3000-4000 for a better aim assist behaviour and on top of that, if you find that the aim assist is too sticky use some boost (in increments of 50) to counter the aim assist.I wouldnt use a curve in fortnite, the game heavily relies on muscle memory for building and a curve will work against that.
Does bullet magnetism actually matter as far as the xim is considered. It is essentially a bigger hit box yes?
Bullet magnetism doesnt really matter, thats true. I still mentioned it in the video as its one of the most common aim assist methods which you cannot really increase or reduce in its strength.
And yes Halo games are one of the best examples for bullet magnetism games.

on the new call of duty modern warfare my aim assist is a bit weird right now when I'm aiming at people running and I'm tracking them it's always following behind them. Is there anyway I can change it so it follows the actual person instead of right behind them? I messed around with boost and steady aim a lot at nothing seems to help even when I put it to drastic numbers

Imagine if 2 Xim players join the same game in mw3 (or any cod). One is using settings to decrease AA. And one is using settings to increase AA. Who's gonna win depending on aim and accuracy? Who as the advantage?
If positioning and everything is equal and its just about aim, then the person who feels more comfortable with their settings. The thing is less or more aim assist is a personal preference, some people are better with aim assist while others are better without. You need to find out what works best for yourself, with those settings you will then play much better :). Id recommend to play a week without/decreased aim assist and then a week with aim assist (maybe even increased). That way you can tell the best with what you get the best ingame results.

Now with sensitivity, what sensitivity (High or low) works best with AA (Aim) for games like Cod and Fortnite?
That looks like a good setup, id probably remove the smoothing though and add it in later after your first few games. That way you can test if you like the effect of smoothing. Slower sensitivities will give more aim assist, in CoD the aim assist is so strong though you can also run mid/high sensitivities and have a noticeable aim assist.
I play fortnite and my mouse runs best at 500hz. best settings would be 500hz, sync common, and 10 smoothing for most aim assist right?
Yes that would result in quite a lot of aim assist. One thing you can do on top of that is to eg adjust your mouse DPI, try something around 3000 DPI for more aim assist.

Yes it will increase it a little bit more, just dont go below it or otherwise your mouse movements will start to drop in accuracy.

If you want to increase or decrease the aim assist with a ballistic curve then ask yourself where you want to increase or remove the aim assist, only for the hip? Only for the ADS? Or maybe for both?
In general you can use a curve for both at the same time, it can even be a different curve for each mode if you want that. But i recommend to use the other options first as a ballistic curve has a big influence on your overall mouse movements.
I was trying to increase the AA for Fortnite so it would be for ADS only I think. But I played around with my settings a bit more and I'm pretty satisfied with what have.
Polling - 500/500
3500 dpi
15.00 Hip Sens
13.00 ADS Sens
Sync - Common
Smoothing - 8
P.S - What do you think is the absolute lowest REASONABLE Xim Sensitivity you can have for Fortnite? Is anything lower than 12 too slow? Thanks
That sounds like a really good config setup, i wouldnt recommend to use a curve on top of that :). As for your other sensitivity question, dont think in xim sensitivities but in distance on the mousepad for a 360° turn. Most Pro players use around 30-45cm per 360° turn on the mousepad when doing a slow mouse movement. Id say this range is a reasonable mouse sensitivity. With 3500 dpi and HIP 12 you should be in this range, so yes it sounds like a great sensitivity. If you want to test which mouse sensitivity gives you the best accuracy then you can try the following xim tutorial, however its purely based on aiming (and not building). hey, for the push to talk feature your mic/headset needs to be plugged into the controller.
the bad part is that my headset has a thing that plugs into the controller but that connects to my headphone and a USB connects to the device so is there a way I could do something like that?
check your headsets manual if the connection to the controller is needed for chatosund. if it is then you can use push to talk with your xim :)

First off yes you can use the xim to play with a controller only, however the features you see in this video are currently only active for the mouse and keyboard. Porting those feature over to the controller is one of the things that have been discussed already. What you can do in the meantime is for example to play with a mouse in the right hand and a sony navigation controller in the left hand, thats the closest controller experience that you can get while using those xim features shown in this video.

hey, what kind of errors do you mean? does your xim manager show any errors?
XIMGameplay errorrolover when I hold e q and right or left and when I hold right and left and q or e
oh ok, this means your keyboard isnt made to send several keyboard inputs at once. its called keyboard rollover. eg a keyboard rollover of two, called 2kro, means your keyboard can only send 2 buttons at the same time, means when you hold down two buttons and you press a third key this key will either be ignored or will activate with a delay.
you might need a new keyboard, the xim cannot fix this as its a limitation of the keyboard. alternatively bind less buttons to your keyboard so you are less likely to press several keyboard keys at once.

Yes the sensitivity will be different then. Do the following, measure your cm per 360° turn on the mousepad with a ruler on sync default. Do slow mouse movements for this. Then switch to sync common and adjust your xim sensitivity as often as necessary until you do the 360° turn with the same cm distance on the mousepad (again slow mouse movements). That way you get the same sensitivity as with default.

this sounds like your razer mouse doesnt have onboard memory, means all your adjustments are only active when the mouse is connected to the pc. once you plug it to the xim it runs the default settings again (5 dpi stages?)
yes with a mouse like the g502 you can save macros on it and use them with the xim and your consoles. the macro cannot be that complex though as the logitech gaming driver doesnt allow to programm very complex macros.

jamie gregory I’m a Razer fan but, in my experience, Logitech works better. Very smooth and more stable. I used razer mamba since Xim4 and with Apex and sometimes mouse freezes...shut down lights, used powered usb hub but never solved troubles. Now since I’m using G502, I’ve never had problems and I’m playing like a charm.

@@elnitzo5073 For Battlefront 2 i think the best aim assist settings are when you go into the game options and turn off the aim slowdown. There are two aim assist options, one this the target lock and the other one will slow down your mouse when you are on the target. This mouse slowdown will reduce your accuracy and muscle memory, i would turn it off for even better results :). The aim assist target lock feature is all you need.

Hey, at the moment those xim settings only work for mouse and keyboard and not the controller. So you cannot increase the aim assist of the controller with a xim right now.

XIMGameplay I go to the description click on the one that says less auto aim copy the curve paste in the xim manager and nothing happens and this is with the apex
Nevermind I guess it Makes a small difference
the curve you see in the video is a lot higher than the one in the video description, so you can actually see the difference in the video. the curve in the video is too extreme though, if you look at the new curve in the discription very closely you can see that its slightly above the graph. if the boost effect is too low then increase the curve a little bit more. (the one in the video is 8 values higher, the one in the video description is 1 value higher)
the best curves are those that you hardly notice yet do what they should, in this case lower the aim assist.

Yes it does, if the PC game offers aim assist to controller players (which not all games do).
Is it just me or does anyone play with 50.0 ads and 50.0 hip, otherwise its mostly way too slow, tryed it in D2 with slower hip and ads, but was hardly playable to track opponents for me..
how much DPI are you using? the more DPI you use the lower your XIM sensitivity will be.
also what kind of synchronization value are you using?
XIMGameplay on pc dpi is 8000, but its a cable mouse and im not sure its saved the dpi to the mouse when i plug in to xim apex and then to the ps4.. i have the Roccat Tyon mouse.
maybe your mouse has no onboard memory so your dpi changes are only active when the mouse is connected to the PC.
tell me what synchronization value you use and what your xim sensitivity is (50?), then i can roughly estimate how much DPI your mouse is using right now when it is connected to the xim

Wolvey just buy a logitech g502 mouse or a Razer deathadder. They have 12000 and 16000 DPI respectively, and their sensors are extremely accurate. These both will work best with the xim4 and xim apex.

I started using the XIM apex on the PS4 Pro playing WW2 with the g403 Gaming mouse and I downloaded and used the WW2 configuration from the app and when I plaid, the left & right clicks were throwing Grenades instead of shooting & aiming. Any fix??? I even mapped them on the app (left-fire) (right-aim) but still they won’t aim and fire
hey, could it be that you use a different controller layout in the game? the xim needs the default controller layout, only then the actions for each button shown in the xim manager are correct.
XIMGameplay yes bro the reason was because I was using a “Flipped” layout and not default. After changing to default it worked. But is it just me or the sensitivity is so slow I even have it at 130 (hip and ads) (dpi is 12k full)
what kind of synchronization value are you using? i recommend you to use common, it gives much better mouse movements and your xim sensitivity will also be lower.

after that go into your global settings in the xim manager and activate the expert mode. then head into your xim game config (editing) and you can find it unter your xim sensitivity (HIP and ADS) when clicking the "..." button

@@slapigr Hey, the sony nav has no influence on the xim sync. So you can use whatever sync you want to to have more or less aim assist. The toggle ADS has to be part of the game, the xim cannot really offer that. So check your game options if it has a toggle function. Toggle doesnt add delay. About your polling rate, 500hz for the mouse and the xim is usually the best.

Hi, I have 2 questions. First one is, is common sync strictly for 60fps gaming? If I am playing a game with over 60fps should I go to default since it's meant for 120fps? And my second question is, do you think that curve would work well for fortnite to increase aim assist after the nerf? Have you tried it out? It seems pretty good and I would really appreciate any suggestions to really tune up the aim assist after the nerf. So far I added 10 smoothing and the ballistic curve and it gives me a nice lock-on, but I am really looking to improve my understanding all the time. The last thing I was going to ask is, SAB adds randomization to WASD movements so that movements are more controller like, but does that affect close range aim assist in Fortnite. I've been looking everywhere to gain a better understanding but I haven't found many places yet. Thanks like always man.
Those snyc-fps recommendations are just guidelines, some 30fps games work best with sync common while certain 60fps games can work best with default. So definitely experiment a bit to find out what you prefer the most. Curves are a mixed bag, while they increase the aim assist they usually also reduce your overall accuracy. You can try the Obsiv Quantization Curve if you want to try a curve though. In most situations the overall gains are close to zero. Therefore i would recommend you to use SAB, which as you already assumed changes how you interact with the aim assist while your character is in motion.

Could it be that your game only offers AA for HIP? Or try a different scope/weapon, maybe the one you use has a very low amount of AA.

you cannot get banned for using xim, microsoft has stated that they are fully fine with the usage of XIM on their console platform. the overwatch developers arent allowed to ban you, their lead developer jeff kaplan had to admit that a while ago. also the XIM is completely invisible to the console, even if it was bannable no one could identify you using a XIM.
if your microsoft account got banned then this is because of a different reason but not due to your XIM.

What smoothing values should I be looking at for the best experience?
in both scenarios (you have mouse jitter or you dont) i would go with 3-7 smoothing IF you want to use it. with these values the smoothing is hardly noticeable yet you benefit from it slightly. depending on what game you play and how high your sensitivity is id go like this:
- low sensitivity: 3 smoothing
- mid sensitivity: 5 smoothing
- high sensitivity: 7 smoothing

yeah if you aim with your arm then your sensitivity will be rather low (which is good for the accuracy too), so smoothing 3 should be perfect. the smoothing will be hardly noticeable with your mouse movements but increase the aim assist.

How much dpi are you using with your mouse? You want to use around 3000-4000 dpi for the best mouse movements with your xim. If you use less than that then you need a higher xim sensitivity in return to maintain a fast turnspeed.

You can do it a curve by yourself on the APP.
Unfortunately, the Logitech G13 Gameboard mentioned at 7:21 is discontinued. There are similar gamepads (e.g. Razer Tartarus), but I think the G13 was the only one with a true analog thumbstick (the others have 4-way or 8-way switches).
You can still buy it new on ebay, the sony navigation controller is also out of production for a while now and has to be bought from ebay or other stores with remaining stock.

@@Raaavnefar Hey, if there is a button you arent sure where its placed at, then check your XIM Manager to verify. And if you miss certain actions, then look up the controller layout of the game. After that you can check which button you bound to it in your XIM Manager. Other than that, its just practice to get used to your new layout. And you will adapt to it really quickly! :)

@@Raaavnefar Hey, in most cases it is sufficient to pick the PC game. Your game will automatically turn on the controller mode when it sees the XIM. The best synchronization is usually default. For more aim assist i would rather use other adjustment option than synchronization (see my increase/decrese aim assist tutorial video).

With what intention? The aim assist increasement methods dont work for the controller right now (only mouse and keyboard) but you can of course use a xim to play with a controller too. Then you can for example use xbox controllers on playstation and vice versa, or rebind/double bind actions.

@@vampyrX213 Id recommend you to also look into the Titan Two adapter, its more geared towards controller players and offers more features in that regard than the XIM. Titan is more about controllers while XIM is for mouse and keyboard. Both can be used for either of the two though.

if you do all six of those then this will increase the aim assist by a lot, however your mouse movements might get too weird. if you want to make your mouse movements appear more like analogsticks, to benefit from aim assist more, then this usually reduces the quality of your mouse movements a bit.
the polling rate and analog stick movement dont really reduce your mouse movements though.
i would recommend you to test each of them separately and then slowly add them together.

Can i run XIM Apex withou aim assist? I play Division, Division 2, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Borderlands 2, Horizon 0 Dawn. On the controller I play with no aim assist. I don't have the XIM Apex yet. It's coming next week. Planning to run it with Logitech G502 Hero (12000 DPI 1000 Polling) and a Mad Catz Strike 3 keyboard. Been watching your videos to get an idea of how things work but yea as I mentioned earlier I don't run aim assist on these games.
For as long as a game offers you to turn off the aim assist then yes, you can absolutly play the game without aim assist (which is something a lot of ximmers do). There are however also games which dont have such an ingame option, in that case you can use the xim and mouse features shown in this video to reduce the aim assist to a level where its not (that) noticable anymore.
Okay, just ordered an Xbox One Elite Series 2 Controller, and I'm partial to using a controller as opposed to MnK. Problem is, I don't know where to go to customize my aim assist, walking speed, etc.
With a controller you always have 100% aim assist, you also dont need to configure your walking speed since your analog stick automatically handles that.

Play with the device that feels more comfortable to you. Both devices are very popular among ximmers, there isnt a better or worse device.
So I’ve been going through your videos again and I’m trying to find your curve you showed us. However I can’t find which video I saw it on. It is a curve to help with AA but it won’t hurt muscle memory. I want to say that you move the slider out to 32-34 and then enter 28 something giving the curve a downward dip in it. Can you help me out and let me know the correct numbers for that curve? Thanks.
Hey, i guess you mean the curve i used in my most recent "Competitive OW Config Tutorial" video. I recommended to use it in a few other games too (Apex Legends, ...). Let me know if that is the curve you are referring to! :)
As an arm aimer my sensitivity is pretty low, but I was just wondering if using 7 smoothing instead of 3 would make my performance better because I don't notice the smoothing on either values.

Yes it does since your mouse movements are in a way smoothed out. They become less stuttery which works better with the aim assist. If you use less than 500hz you start to add too much delay to your mouse movements and the general mouse movements can start to feel unrepsonsive. You can of course trade responsivenes for more aim assist and go below 500hz if you want to.

Yes it does make a difference! The amount depends on the game though. Start with small values and slowly increment them after each game until you have found your preferred values.

@@alkatraz9171 Yes it also works the same way for MW3 on PC. PC games usually run the console version when connecting a gamepad = XIM. For a gamepad you can continue to use 125-250Hz, there is usually not much gain to go higher since most gamepads dont really support that.
XIMGameplay My mouse is set to 1000hz and I went from 3200 dpi to 12000dpi and there is less mouse stutter and my aim feels better but aim assist is still present playing Paladins. I also tried using a ballistic curve to reduce aim assist but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
Did you try the new boost feature? Its one of the best mechanics to reduce aim assist. Also try out RMLs anti recoil ballistic curve, the problem with curves is that its much easier to accidentally increase the aim aisssist than to reduce it. If you are unsure about the curve then id keep the graph on default. Instead try synchronization default and boost to reduce the aim assist.

Yes of course you can, with an analog stick you will have the strongest aim assist that you can get.

The large share of console fps games dont offer an option to deactivate the aim assist.
XIMGameplay Yes I do see that but I've seen xim post asking for curves for games that do allow you to deacticate AA, and games that let you disable only a little bit of the AA most people using these curves leave it on. Why is that? is it because they are trying to remove a certain type of AA with a curve, or maybe because they want less AA but not completely remove it cause it's actually beneficial? I'm just trying to figure out if I should completely disable AA for this game or use a curve to reduce it
Oh ok, yes in those scenarios the users usually want to keep a minimal amount of aim assist, or as you said want to reduce/increase a certain aspect of the aim assist behaviour. Aim Assist in general is a personal perference thing, there is not better or worse when increasing or reducing the aim assist. Some people play better with, others without aim assist.
Also, while a few games offer the option to deactivate the aim assist this usually doesnt turn off the aim assist completely. Theres still a minor aim assist running in the background, which you eg can reduce even more by using the methods shown in this video.

Default and common usually give the best performance, Off only works well in very specific games tbh. To judge what sync works best for you make very slow mouse movements and check how smooth they are.
Can i add for future info regarding your stutter video keeping good quality cabling between xim hub and controller is key the cable i was using origionally seemed to be working perfectly but unfortunately it was in fact causing some c errors and this lead to micro stutter at any smoothing value

Go ahead a buy Apex. Newest technology. Xim4 is a few years old and all development going towards Apex. It's cheaper than when xim4 came out. I've had many xim products and they keep getting better. New Apex is only about $100... well worth the price.

You have to make sure that you use the matching config for your controller. If you use an Xbox controller then use the Xbox config profile. Now another reason can be that some game developers use different aim mechanics for the controller on PC so in that case it would definitely feel different (and theres no real way to change that then). Plus the higher and more consistent fps can also make it feel different on PC. Other than that check that your ingame settings are identical.
@@XIMCentral Thanks for the answer. Fortnite has a really weird Controller Mechanic since they got Deadzone settings in... I can do whatever i want mouse movement feels so delayed... and when i use 5% deadzone my mouse starts to jitter when it comes to range fight. When i use 12% Deadzone there is no jitter but the HIP feels very clunky.. Now im using 1000 Hz and 3000 DPI for a nice mouse movement but still jitter when it comes to range fight and less Aim assist ofc. Fortnite is a problem kid for me... Playing on Exponential... but i think Linear would give me a better Mouse feeling since the input is directly? @@Nagunai Exponential has the better mouse movements but the aim assist is not as good as with linear. Look up the recommended xim settings for Fortnite, Xbox and PS have different ingame settings that you have to use and you have to go with the one that matches your controller. Maybe that helps, other than that as i said its not unlikely that the game feels different on PC.

Hey, there is no defnitive answer to that questions as some people are better with aim assist and others are better without. Id recommend you to play a few days with aim assist and then do the same but without aim assist, after that you can tell which one worked out better for you :).

The difference between the two is pretty significant, below i have added a link to a comparison sheet.
aside from that the used prices for xim4 are still pretty strong, means you can almost sell your xim4 for the price of a xim apex.

If you already have a very good aim then the aim assist can become a problem. Most players will prefer more aim assist though, thats true.

The polling rate depends on your mouse, id recommend you to do a polling rate benchmark to find out what polling rate works best for your mouse. As for the sync, id say common is better but if you want more aim assist use slow.

A lot of people buy the XIM for the PC experience, they dont like aim assist. In some games the aim assist can also be so strong that it gets annoying.
I have all on decreased and it works perfect in BF1 with the aim assist,I dont really like aim assist, so its perfect for me :)

every game has a different rate at which it accepts inputs, the different sync values are made to adjust your xim to that. eg if a game is 120hz then default will give the best mouse movements, 60hz for common, 30hz for slow and off is basically as many reports as the xim can send. now both default and common will give the best results, in some games common might be better as the sync is closer to 60hz while in other games itll be closer to 120hz.this is also affected by fps drops which is why common is usually the best overall for mouse movements.
