Here's the thing, and Coast mention it earlier in the podcast, all of their verses were written. Harry Mack went off the top. They were giving him major flowers for his ability to come off the top and still make it fire. That said Eric was spitting flames

Have no idea why you would compare Coast Contra and HMack freestyling styles. You can’t compare written freestyles to off the dome ever, it’s not the same thing

Coast Contra is dope. Not to bring it back to back to Aubrey and Dot but I’ve been saying if there was anyone who would be a fair battle for Kendrick, it would be one of the dudes from Coast Contra, especially the dude with the wild hair (i forgot his name lol). And it would be a dope friendly fade where both can walk away respecting each other.

NAH THEY DID THIS $#!+. The fact that not just Talib Qweli, but now Harry Mack has co-signed them to do this Acapella makes them certified "freestyling" geniuses. Can't believe there are still a good handful of people not giving Coast full credit out of them utilizing their pen to paper when it comes to spitting verses. I would fkin hope someone took the time to think aloud, study, and master enough verses to no longer "NEED" a book. This is why the Coast x Harry Mack Cypher is so damn dope because it literally connects the processes required to actually perform and execute this caliber of rap. All these critics of "off the dome" or "written" verses need to get out of their elitest mentality and appreciate this even happening the way it did.

If you watch the whole episode you’ll know that coasts verses are written because that’s what they do. I’m sure they all wrote a verse for this. Taj made it clear that they all walk around with a verse to spit at any moment because that’s what freestyle means to them. Harry is off top which is different than coast and they made that distinction earlier in the episode. This was an epic collab of the 5 best independent lyricist in the game. Hope to hear some actual songs from the new goats of hip hop.
You don’t need to watch the whole ep all you need is to hear the first two bars to know they wrote it. No off the dome freestyler comes in with super dense elaborate schemes like that off the top. Theres also zero filler. Have no idea how ppl can’t immediately tell when something is written or not it’s very easy to tell
